Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX observational inquiries must comply with the issued distance of 110 meters. Recordings and findings are to be taken note of through physical methods and then documented into the foundation archive through off-site equipment. Photographic observations should be made with the use of drones or specialized cameras that have been integrated into the four observation towers that surround SCP-XXXX.

All machinery that receives or transmits radio frequencies is to be confiscated from any personnel as they enter the observation location. Radio-related devices that are found in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX's location should be destroyed (If a device is experiencing radio frequency interruptions) or brought to site-56 for further analysis. Any radio frequency malfunction is to be recorded and sent to Head Researcher Dr. Zinc Exedious.

For communication purposes, the use of flashlights or megaphones/PA systems is recommended as replacements for radio devices. For flashlights, the use of them is mostly preferred at night time, and communication with them is to be consistent with morse code.

SCP-XXXX is currently being surrounded by an electromagnetic wall, which is approximately 1.75 m thick, that circulates around it. The flow of power towards the electromagnetic wall should be maintained at all times and altered if the electrical charge from the epicenter of SCP-XXXX changes. Check-ups on the voltage stream and backup generators are to be performed two days per week by foundation electrical engineers. SCP-XXXX is to undergo multiple scans that monitor the electrical charge by the hour. These scans are to then be recorded and stored in foundation archive files for further research. Any irregularity or abnormality that may appear during a scan, should be reported to Observational Site Supervisor Dr. Cathy Silver.

If the power to the electromagnetic wall is cut off for more than 2.3 hours, all personnel are to evacuate the area immediately. Further instructions will be given to site-designated personnel afterward by the Site Director.

Description: SCP-XXXX is in reference to Project E.D.G.E itself, the facility in which the project was worked on, and the field generator that makes up the area around the facility. Project E.D.G.E, which will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-Initial, was a research project funded by the U.S Government which had been kept undisclosed from the public with intentions to obscure the information from foreign countries. SCP-XXXX-Initial had been approved by government officials and placed for military research in a government site located on top of the Seven Troughs Mountain, formally known as "Sector-24". Sector-24, which will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, ran as a military research site from 1947 to 1955, until it became labeled as an energy control and containment site, and then renamed "Project Ianua"1 to "Project E.D.G.E", which stood for Elapse Distortion Gateway Engine. Progress on SCP-XXXX-Initial had been carried out to government officials via high-powered radio stations, with weekly reports on tests and observations relating to SCP-XXXX-Initial.

During 1957, a containment field generator was established into SCP-XXXX-1, which will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-2, in order to operate as a "moderator" for SCP-XXXX-Initial if something disastrous were to ever happen. SCP-XXXX-2 was an earlier project of the U.S Government, that was originally intended for military purposes until they had approved to use SCP-XXXX-2 as the "moderator" of SCP-XXXX-Initial on April 8, 1957. SCP-XXXX-2 has the ability to generate a semi-vector field, which is of unknown properties as a result of losing the original blueprints in a cargo load during the facility transfer. Although from human testing, it has been shown that the vector field, which from now will be referred to as F-506, is able to cause periods of amnesia and slow irrational thinking in the frontal lobe of the brain, which results in losing memory of moments prior to entering its vicinity, the cause of these effects is currently unknown. F-506 is completely invisible to the human eye, and can only be seen with quantum imaging, which in turn made it a great application for military purposes. SCP-XXXX-2 was then placed in SCP-XXXX-1's basement, which is located 180 meters underground, along with SCP-XXXX-Initial. SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-Initial had been running smoothly from 1955 to 1972, along with constant breakthroughs in research to improve upon SCP-XXXX-Initial.

On March 2, 1973, SCP-XXXX-1 stopped transmitting back to government officials with weekly reports on SCP-XXXX-Initial which became a concern for financial stability and project funds. Attempts at contact with SCP-XXXX-1 became futile, with every approach at the situation leading to electronic malfunction in any form of radio machinery that tried to make contact. After minutes of static malfunction, radio devices started to ignite and combust. This resulted in government heads making the decision to investigate whatever the problem was. Government officers were to then lead a team of agents to the location of SCP-XXXX-1, but had encountered difficulty in entering the facility. Documented logs of the interviews conducted by SCP foundation investigators can be found on the [G-Interview Log] segment, and the exploration log conducted by government agents and officers can be found on [G-Exploration Log] segment. Any and all further questions about Project E.D.G.E's history are to be brought to ████████2.

After containment of SCP-XXXX, foundation researchers discovered an event that happened outside of SCP-XXXX, right after the research group of SCP-XXXX-Initial stopped responding back to government officials, from old thermal images taken by government satellites. The event has been documented under [The Horizon Event] log segment.

SCP-XXXX-1's structure is that of three facility buildings protruding from the peek of the mountain. The three facility buildings are separated by 14.52 - 15.34 meter paths, which merge together into a triangular shape. These paths are made of metal and stone-like materials, which can withstand bullet penetration, that seem to have cracked a bit on the edges but still maintain a sturdy shape. Two of the buildings, which from now on will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1-A and SCP-XXXX-1-B, are in the shape of a rectangle and are mostly similar to one another, but SCP-XXXX-1-A is mostly a research building, and SCP-XXXX-1-B contains the interior bases for a storage building with an elevator in the middle. The third and final building, which will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1-C, is in the shape of a dome with a metallic rod extruding from the top of SCP-XXXX-1-C. In the center of SCP-XXXX-1 is a circular and metallic hole that has an unknown depth, but is hypothesised to be at least 75 meters in depth. Entrances of the facility are located on the front side of SCP-XXXX-1-C and left side of SCP-XXXX-1-A. Plans of entering SCP-XXXX-1 have been unsuccessful, and led to the deaths of 10 D-Class personnel in total.

SCP-XXXX-2 has been the main component to the death counts so far. Fatalities began with [Test Incident-#004], where experiments with the F-506 field commenced. As of now, testing with SCP-XXXX has been discontinued by the request of 05 Council. Testing will resume when methods of penetrating the F-506 field without fatalities is presented.

SCP-Initial is dormant as of now, but will activate once more as shown by quantum imaging scans, which display a few leftover unknown particles from the last activation. More information as to what SCP-Initial is and it's purpose is unknown since only the Project Manager, who was inside SCP-XXXX-1 at the time of the horizon event, is in possession of that information.
