scpxxxx

rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: scpxxxx is currently uncontained.

Description: scpxxxx is a fungi identical to the liberty cap. The effects of SCPxxxx is not yet fully understood nor is it known how it gets its anomalous properties. It is hypothesized that the mycelium itself is creating the perfect circumstances for the creation of SCPxxxx instances as rarely as 1 in 100,000 formed fungi. The foundation currently has a large number of undercover agents working in mycological associations worldwide. Their mission is to collect all suspected instances of SCPxxxx, dry them and send to site 66 for further study. Most of the collected instances of SCPxxxx have been found to differ slightly from ordinary liberty cap when viewed under microscope. It's full molecular structure is currently being studied.

The first known occurance was reported to local police In a rural town In Southern sweden. Foundation staff working with Swedish police overheard a person reporting his friend missing after simply disappearing in a field while they where looking for "shrooms" The person was at first not taken seriously but foundation personell asked to be taken to the spot where the missing person was last seen. On arrival, foundation personell immediately spotted the missing person curled up in the fetal position near the edge of the field. He was taken to hospital for medical care and was thereafter interviewed by foundation personell. See interview log 001-136

The effects of ingesting an instance of SCPxxxx is at first similar to the ingestion of an ordinary Liberty cap. however, after approximately 90 minutes the person or other mammal that ingested the fungi, disappear. After interviews and experiments it is concluded that the user of SCPxxxx is displaced into another dimension(see experiment log xxxx-01). While in displacement, the subject is able to touch objects, interact with beings and/or humans. The duration of displacement varies between 3 to 7 hours. Subjects that have experienced displacement normally show signs of apathy or distress at their return. These symptoms have subsided within 24 hours in all recorded displacements.
