Material displacing fungi
scpxxxx
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: scpxxxx is currently uncontained.
Description: scpxxxx is a fungi identical to the liberty cap. The effects of SCPxxxx is not yet fully understood nor is it known how it gets its anomalous properties. It is hypothesized that the mycelium itself is creating SCPxxxx instances as rarely as 1 in 100,000 formed fungi. The foundation currently has a smal number of undercover agents working in mycological associations worldwide. Their mission is to collect all suspected instances of SCPxxxx, dry them and send to site 66 for further study. Most of the collected instances of SCPxxxx have been found to differ slightly from ordinary liberty cap both in size and when viewed under microscope. It's full molecular structure is currently being studied.
The first known occurance was reported to local police In a rural town In Southern sweden. Foundation staff working with Swedish police overheard a person reporting his friend missing after simply disappearing in a field while they where looking for "shrooms" The person was at first not taken seriously but foundation personell asked to be taken to the spot where the missing person was last seen. On arrival, foundation personell immediately spotted the missing person curled up in the fetal position near the edge of the field. He was taken to hospital for medical care and was thereafter interviewed by foundation personell. See interview log 001-136
The effects of ingesting an instance of SCPxxxx is at first similar to the ingestion of an ordinary Liberty cap. however, after approximately 90 minutes the person or other mammal that ingests the fungi, disappear. After interviews and experiments it is concluded that the user of SCPxxxx is displaced into another dimension(see experiment log xxxx-01). While in displacement, the subject is able to touch objects, interact with beings and/or humans. The duration of displacement varies between 3 to 7 hours. Subjects that have experienced displacement normally show signs of apathy or distress at their return. These symptoms have subsided within 24 hours in all recorded displacements.

Agent Andersson: So Anton, would you mind telling me what happened while you and you friend were picking mushrooms?
Mr. Svensson: Well… im not really sure.
Agent Andersson: Would you please tell me what happened before you disappeared, while you were gone and when you returned.
Mr. Svensson: ok, me and tobias were looking for some shrooms. We had been lucky and found a bunch of them. I havent had shrooms since christmas and i just said to my self, fuck it! one wont hurt. Tobias is driving anyways. I choose a big one i found and ate it. It had some good effect and i was tripping real good. then all of a sudden, i just stood in another field. i was really confused because i didnt feel the trip anymore. I looked around and saw some people at the edge of the field. i started walking towards them But stopped when i could make out some details on them.
Agent Andersson: please continue, mr. Svensson.
Mr. Svensson: Well… they werent…like us. They looked human but they werent human!
Agent Andersson: Can you describe them for me please?
Mr. Svensson: Uhm.. I dont really know how. They were tall, really buff. And they looked like, like they had mannequin faces. and not the good kind. There were barely any facial features.
Agent Andersson: What happened next? Did you speak to them?
Mr. Svensson: They saw me coming out of the field and started walking towards me. I freaked out man, i screamed like a little girl. I think they realized that i was scared and they spoke to me. At first i didnt understand but they quickly started speaking swedish.
Agent Andersson: What did they say? can you tell me in detail?
Mr. Svensson: They simply said, dont be afraid. We wont hurt you. Do you need any help? I just stood there looking at them, i didnt know what to do. I managed to ask them what they were and they replied by saying, Humans. you are also human. but youre not from here.
Agent Andersson: Did you by any chance find out where you were?
Mr. Svensson: No not really. they said earth but it didnt look like earth. the plants were different and the smell was… not pleasant. Then all of a sudden, i was back in the field where me and Tobias had been. He was gone and i was not feeling very well to say the least. I just curled up and started crying. I had the worst panic attack ever.
Agent Andersson: How long did this trip last?
Mr. Svensson: Uh, like 1,5 hours maybe
Agent Andersson: Thank you Anton. I have no further questions, get some rest and the doctors will get you out of here in no time.
