Midnight Radio

Item #: SCP-XXXX "Midnight Radio"

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX containment Site 375 has been built around the anomaly¹. An outside perimeter has been established outside of visual distance from SCP-XXXX, signs inform walkers that the area is a designated military firing range as do maps of the area. Site A, located in close proximity to the SCP-XXXX-1 building, is constantly manned by three (3) D-Class operatives and one (1) Agent. Operatives are stationed to maintain the outer perimeter, monitor the anomaly and ensure any breaches of outer perimeter are swiftly dealt with.

In the event of the occurrence of SCP-XXXX-4 operatives are to track the subject in order to ensure a swift and stable transfer between SCP-XXXX-4 and SCP-XXXX-2.

In the instance of a notable change in SCP-XXXX-3 Level 4 staff from Site 15 are to be contacted and additional researchers are to be dispatched to further analyse the situation. If testing is required permission from O-5 must be obtained.

Containment of SCP-XXXX is currently undertaken by MTF Mu-4 “Debuggers”

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of three components: A desk holding radio equipment connected to an antenna outside (SCP-XXXX-1), one young, caucasian female with black hair (SCP-XXXX-2), a ██ wave that manifests with some form of regularity (SCP-XXXX-3).

SCP-XXXX-1 is contained within a small single story building located in ███ █████, Utah. SCP-XXXX-1 is contained in a roughly 5x7.5x2.5m room that contains a chair and the anomaly. As far as analysis has shown the equipment is a standard ███████ █████ radio broadcaster typical of a radio station from the 1930s. It differs in no discernable way from a standard item. All other aspects of the room are to be expected. SCP-XXXX-1 is operated 24hrs per day by SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a caucasian female with black hair that appears to be of good health, both physically and mentally. The subject is clothed in motorcycle leather and motorcycle helmet is placed in close vicinity to the subject. Outside of the building, there is one (1) BMW R80 which has been taken into storage at Site 50. SCP has never been recorded leaving position next to SCP-XXXX-1 and therefore has been seated at Site 375 for over ████ days. All nutritional needs appear to be suspended indefinitely, it has been therefore theorised that SCP-XXXX-2 is in a stasis state and therefore does not perceive temporal movement. Subject shows no reaction to sensory stimulation. Auditory senses are obscured by a pair of ██████ ████████ headphones. Other methods of sensory suppression are unknown at this time. Attempts to remove the headphones from the subjects are met with a sense of foreboding dread for what might happen upon removal. This effect is present also through remote methods of removal. No source of this feeling has been identified. No further research has been cleared by O-5 following testimony by Agent ██████.

SCP-XXXX-3 is an EM radio wave at a frequency of ███.███ Khz via a radio mast on site dubbed the “midnight radio”. The broadcast becomes receivable in any place on earth that is between 00:00-06:00 am in its attributed time zone. It is unknown how the frequency is masked/blocked during the hours outside of this period. The timing of unblocking never varies. The broadcast contains a varying collection of genres but with one constant theme of unsettling and creepy. Clarity of the broadcast does appear to vary but not due to distance or geological barriers between signal. Clarity manipulation appears to be done by SCP-XXXX-2 however the reasoning behind the manipulation is unknown although does appear to coincide with lunar months.

In some rare cases, broadcasts may be intercepted by a member of the public. This will trigger a SCP-XXXX-4 event. A subject will be drawn to listen to the broadcast and become addicted leading to mild paranoia on occasions. The chosen subject will be given the set of coordinates for SCP-XXXX-1 at the end of the broadcast at ██:██ am. The method of choosing is apparently random. The subject will then travel to these coordinates by any means possible; in the case of the current SCP-XXXX-2, by motorcycle. Once reaching SCP-XXXX-1 the subject will assume the position of SCP-XXXX-2. The old subject in position SCP-XXXX-2 will disintegrate upon arrival as they are released from stasis.12
