Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be surrounded by three (3) Scranton reality Anchors at all times, to prevent the anomaly from adversely affecting the reality level of the surrounding environment.

Description:

SCP-XXXX refers to the remains of ‘United States Penitentiary, Unalaska Administrative Maximum Facility (USP Unalaska ADMAX)’, a federal prison of the United States of America located near Unalaska, Alaska. The prison was used exclusively by the United States Paranatural Warfare Command (sometimes called Pentagram) to contain and interrogate humans and anomalous humanoids.

SCP-XXXX was active until late 2012, and records of the United States Paranatural Warfare Command shared with the Foundation indicate that at the time of its deactivation 120 staff worked at the prison, which held 90 inmates. A list of notable inmates can be found in Appendix 2.

SCP-XXXX was deactivated by the United States Paranatural Warfare Command after a large-scale prison break and breakdown of local reality occurred on December 12th, 2012, which rendered the prison inoperable.

The US government reached out to the Foundation for assistance in containing the remains of the facility, as well as any escaped inmates, on January 3rd 2013 after it became clear that the United States Paranatural Warfare Command did not have the required equipment or expertise to contain a severe reality breakdown.

Appendix 1: History:

SCP-XXXX was established in 1949, and while most United States Paranatural Warfare Command facilities were constructed at this time with the knowledge and assistance of the SCP Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition, SCP-XXXX was constructed in secret. Furthermore, while Prometheus Labs was the primary construction contractor used to create most UIU or United States Paranatural Warfare Command facilities in this time period, the United States Paranatural Warfare Command constructed SCP-XXXX exclusively using its own employees or prison labor.

The secretive nature of SCP-XXXX’s construction was seen as necessary due to its containment of several members of politically sensitive groups throughout its history. This includes members of the SCP Foundation, Global Occult Coalition, GRU Division “P”, Office for the Reclamation of Islamic Artifacts, the United States Congress, White House Office, and others.

Appendix 3: Foundation Involvement:

On January 3rd, members of the Paranatural Warfare Command reached out to the Foundation through diplomatic channels, and requested assistance in containing SCP-XXXX and any escaped prisoners. The Foundation was not informed of the exact nature of SCP-XXXX, presumably to attempt to prevent the Foundation learning about the imprisonment of several Foundation employees by the United States government within.

Appendix 4: Diplomatic Consequences:

Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, the status of certain detainees as Foundation employees, and the material recovered in Exploration 2; the Foundation formally terminated its diplomatic relationship with the United States Paranatural Warfare Command after the events of Incident-XXXX.
