Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be stored in a safe class locker in Site-77. Any personnel searching for a weapon, tool or musical instrument must stay at least 50 meters away from SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX can only be removed for testing purposes only, with approval of at least one Level 3 personnel, and all testing will have no less than two guards present in case of subject turning hostile. All personnel that came in contact with SCP-XXXX will be monitored and required daily mental counceling for at least one month.
If any personnel is seen holding SCP-XXXX outside designated testing areas, or the testing schedule, all personnel within the same floor are to be evacuated, and the subject carrying SCP-XXXX will be pacified by guards with non-lethal means, and administered Class-A amnestics.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a red and white oil-paper umbrella, specifically a janomegasa (蛇の目傘), supported with bamboo skeleton. A bullseye pattern was painted on the umbrella, the stem painted black and handle painted white. When opened, it has a maximum diameter of 150 cm and length of 200 cm. Although there is no difference between the composition of SCP-XXXX and other oil-paper umbrellas, SCP-XXXX seems to be indestructible, or extremely durable. More experiments impending for approval to measure the structural integrity of SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX will anomalously appear near an individual seeking a weapon, tool or musical instrument. The subject will always pick up the umbrella once exposed, even if there is a better choice nearby. Upon grabbing the umbrella, the subject will think it is the object they desired, and create sound effects with their mouth, while using said umbrella. Others will perceive SCP-XXXX as its umbrella form, but the subject will legitimately know and perceive it as the object they envisioned. When SCP-XXXX is in use, it will effectively reverse the efforts intended by the subject (See Addendum 1), and the subject will continue attempt the task at hand, until their expiration, or the activity is forcibly stopped.
Any comments regarding the true form of SCP-XXXX will be ignored by subject under its influence. When subject was offered a similar or better alternative to SCP-XXXX, they will rudely reject the offer, and continue to attempt the task at hand to no success. Subjects will lash out violently if they are told to hand over SCP-XXXX, and experience severe seperation anxiety that gradually dissipates for up to two weeks.
