INCIDENT LOG XXXX-2

PREFACE: SCP-XXXX was allowed to exit its containment unit for 20 minutes. It was given a portable headset radio to receive commands from Dr. Rivera and was not to approach the fence surrounding Euclid Containment Sector 27. Dr. Rivera and two security guards armed with PAX-22 Tranquilizer Rifles were stationed in two raised guard towers on opposite ends of Euclid Containment Sector 27.
<BEGIN LOG>
The main door to SCP-XXXX's primary containment unit opens and SCP-XXXX emerges. The effected area of the containment sector expands and grass begins sprouting along the edges.
Guard 2: This is a bad idea doctor.
Dr. Rivera gestures to be quiet.
Dr. Rivera: Do you see the post markers?
SCP-XXXX: Yeah.
Dr. Rivera: If you cross those it will be considered an escape attempt and we will have to forcefully detain you. Do you understand?
SCP-XXXX: Uh-huh.
SCP-XXXX faces the sky and inhales loudly.
SCP-XXXX: The air smells so good out here. The air inside always smelled so stale.
A small cluster of lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) sprouts 4 meters to the east of SCP-XXXX and it begins to limp towards them.
Dr. Rivera: What are you doing?
SCP-XXXX: I want to go smell the flowers.
Before SCP-XXXX can reach them, the lavender begins to wilt and decay.
SCP-XXXX: Oh.
After a few moments SCP-XXXX reaches the dead patch. It lets out a small sigh and with a groan sits down.
Dr. Rivera: There is a cluster of sunflowers behind you.
SCP-XXXX: What?
Dr. Rivera: Dead ones are being replaced by new ones.
SCP-XXXX looks behind it for a moment then looks down at its legs.
SCP-XXXX: I can't.
Dr. Rivera: What do you mean?
SCP-XXXX: (whispering) I can't stand up. Its finally chewed them off.
SCP-XXXX begins to cry
Guard 2: Sir?
Dr. Rivera motions for silence
SCP-XXXX: I stopped for just a second and it tore them clean off.
(pause)
SCP-XXXX: I just can't do it anymore.
Dr. Rivera: Can't do what?
SCP-XXXX: ANY OF IT!
(pause)
SCP-XXXX: It's not fair.
Dr. Rivera: …I know.
A few moments pass and SCP-XXXX leans back to lie down. The grass is over 2 feet tall now and completely obscures SCP-XXXX.
Guard 2: I've lost line of sight.
Guard 1: Ditto.
Dr. Rivera: I'm afraid I need you to sit back up. We need to be able to see you at all times while you are outside.
SCP-XXXX grunts multiple times and returns to a sitting position
SCP-XXXX: (Sobbing) I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to- I wasn't trying to-
Dr. Rivera: It's okay. I'm sure you're just tired.
The next 12 minutes pass. SCP-XXXX weeps quietly as it runs its hands through the wilting grass. Mumbling is heard but can't be discerned.
Dr. Rivera: It has been twenty minutes. I'm going to need you to start heading back inside.
No response.
Dr. Rivera: I repeat, please get up and return to your containment chamber.
No response.
Dr. Rivera: (To Guard 2) Okay go ahead.
A low rumbling is head emanating from SCP-XXXX. Its anomalous effects begin to intensify and the grass surrounding it starts to grow, die, and be replaced at a rate of 1.3 lifespans per second.
Dr. Rivera: NOW!
A loud crash is heard as trees erupt from the earth in concentric rings around SCP-XXXX. Guard 1 fires and the dart lodges itself in one of the newly formed trees, now fully matured.
Guard 1: I've lost line of sight.
Guard 2: Radioing for back up now
The trees begin to shed their leaves, repopulate and shed again at a rate of 2.4 cycles per second. Creating a constant shower of orange before blanketing the ground and decaying .
Guard 2: Hello, this is Security Detail XXXX-034. Requesting back up at ECS 27. A containment breach is underway as I speak.
A short wave transmission is sent to Site 12's Security Offices
Dr. Rivera: There's no ne-
Screaming is heard coming from inside the cluster of trees that is later analyzed to be SCP-XXXX.
Site-12 Security Offices: Confirmed, a squad has been sent to your location and should be arriving in approximately 4 minutes.
Dr. Rivera: THERE IS NO NEED TO-
All activity inside ECS 27 ceases. There is no visible sign that SCP-XXXX's anomalous effect is present.
