Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5001 is to be housed in a standard Safe level object storage locker on Site-21. Due to the nature of SCP–5001, female members of SCP Foundation staff are restricted from coming into contact with it or its contents. Only male SCP Foundation staff are permitted to handle SCP–5001 or its contents. Personnel must comply with Class E safety protocols and undergo regulatory decontamination processes after testing.

Description: SCP–5001 refers to a singular can of Axe Body Spray. Image on the can resembles a blue phoenix with AXE DEODERANT SPRAY PHOENIX written on the side. Contents are standard of a name brand body spray of its type. Consisting of Aluminum Zirconium Tetracholorohydrex glycol, PPG-14 Butyl Ether, Stearyl Alcohol, PEG-8 Distearate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Talc, and BHT. However, this particular instance contains trace amounts of pheromones belonging to numerous as well as human DNA. The can itself has no noted properties of interest, however the liquid inside has a scent reminiscent of a typical spray deodorant. When SCP-5001 is applied to a person or object, any female humanoids within the vicinity of 4.75 meters (depending on the amount of application) of the wearer will pursue and collide with the individual wearing it. Individuals under the effect of SCP-5001 will show a complete disregard for personal safety. Attraction caused by SCP–5001 appears to be only collision based and harmful in nature. Interviews with affected subjects did not reveal the attraction to be romantic or sexual in any way. Effects of SCP–5001 appear to dissipate within 15 minutes of removal from the presence of the scent. Male subjects, either wearers or humanoids in the vicinity of SCP–5001’s scent, are unaffected in any way. Further investigation as to the distribution of SCP–5001 revealed that it was produced by British – Dutch company ████████ and marketed towards the young male demographic. The probability of other uncontained instances of SCP-5001 is unlikely. Upon inspection of the site where SCP-5001 was produced, all equipment and chemicals involved with production were seized and analyzed. Investigation into SCP-5001’s formula as well as surveillance of ████████ and its affiliates, is ongoing.

SCP-5001 was confiscated from the Siège Social Unilever Corporation in Rueil-Malmasion, France. Developed by Senior Researcher Jules Armand, SCP-5001 was intended to be working aphrodisiac formula, intended to induce attraction, specifically targeting the female gender. Testing designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of SCP-5001 resulted in several injuries which caused those under its effects to seek medical attention. Subsequent interviews with Law Enforcement prompted the attention of embedded field Agents within the city of Marseille, France. SCP-5001 was ultimately confiscated once its properties were known and all researchers and CEO’s present during SCP-5001’s demonstration were given Class-A Amnestics. All data related to SCP-5001, including formulas, testing logs, and video records were subsequently confiscated as well as analyzed.

Subjects: Paule & Fleur

Background: Paule & Fleur are Bonobos Chimpanzees, approximately 5 & 6 years of age. Paule and Fleur have an antagonistic relationship, as Paule is Beta male of their core group. Experiment: Paule is to be applied .5 ounces of MD-40. Fleur is then introduced into Paule’s enclosure.

Results: Fleur shows no aversion to Paule’s presence. Paule’s gestures are met with a general indifference.

Notes: Prior to this experiment, Fleur was openly hostile for Paule’s presence. This change in behavior indicates a notable decrease in aggressive behavior.

This could really change the dynamic of male to female relations, leading to more positive experiences. MD-40 has a whole host of practical applications, ostensibly breaking down the frigid barrier. Picture a husband and wife who fight all the time given a small dose of MD-40. We’re on the brink of something here.

+ Testing Log: 002 Binbe & Willow

Subjects: Binbe & Willow

Background: Binbe & Willow come from opposing groups of competing Chimpanzees. Both groups have been made to compete for treats in the form of grapes and various other fruits. This amount of competition have made the groups openly hostile towards one another.

Experiment: Binbe is applied .7 oz’s of MD-41 and then introduced into Willow’s enclosure. Prior to introduction, the sight of Binbe by Willow instilled violently aggressive reactions. After exposure to the scent of MD-41, Willow becomes Docile. Binbe is at first apprehensive and suspicious of Willow. 13 minutes into introduction, Willow initiates contact with Binbe’s fur. Binbe allows her to clean his fur.

Notes: Increase of Formula 1244 into MD-41 caused heightened relaxation as well as increased extroversion towards Binbe from Willow. The addition of the pheromones produce an almost addictive nature to the formula. Further testing will be needed.

To say that this is exciting would be a massive understatement. If my primary school self could see this, I’d be over the moon. Guy’s everywhere would never have to experience the cold shoulder again. Adilede has noted certain ethical issues regarding the formula and its usage, but if we can find a middle ground with MD-41 and make our intentions known with it, it doesn’t have to be a problem.

+ Testing Log: 003 Scooter & Lamange

Subjects: Scooter & Lamange

Background: Scooter & Lamange are a Jack Russel Terrier and Shitzu Mix of Canus lupus familiaris. Both animals are generally familiar to each other and in no way antagonistic though some fighting does occasionally occur.

Experiment: Scooter is applied .6 oz’s of MD-43. Lamange is then introduced into Scooter’s enclosure. Lamange takes a considerably interest in Scooter almost immediately. She presents herself to Scooter and Scooter obliges.

Notes: An increase in Formula 1244 produced the anticipated results. This marks the third replicated experiment with the MD pheromones. Lamange showed a marked increase in oxytocin, indicating that MD pheromones can produce positive and even euphoric effects. Further trials will be needed as we’ll need to look into possible adverse effects.

This DEFINITELY has a marketability factor unlike anything we have ever seen. This is something more than Spanish Fly or Viagra. MD-40 is the real deal.

The ethical ramifications of MD-40 are enormous. We must bring our findings to the EMA immediately. In small doses, despite the fact that MD-40 acts as a kind of attraction formula, its apparent that it is affecting a subject’s will power to an unknown degree. In the wrong hands, this is potentially dangerous. More research must be done in terms of finding out the suggestibility factor. It is possible that when used on cognizant individuals, that their free will could be somehow compromised. I’m also concerned as to why MD-40 only affects female subjects. In the spirit of equality, we should be simultaneously researching a male equivalent to MD-40. formula.

I understand your apprehension regarding MD-40. Suggestibility factors are certainly a concern, but they may be overstated. MD-40 merely acts an inhibitor. Similar to alcohol or marijuana. In my observations, MD-40 lowers one’s guard in an attraction sense. Affected subjects do not appear to be under any kind of deliberate control. If anything, it’s a freeing of the mind to make oneself more open to a meaningful connection. While my impression may come off as overly optimistic, I believe with further trials and adjustments, we can create something that brings people together as opposed to master-slave dynamic. In regards to your last point, I agree. MD-40 is “Adam’s rib” in reference to a feminine equivalent. A pheromone change to the initial extract should be capable of producing a working female equivalent.

Human Trials

24 months and 12 days after the initial EMA request. MD-40 was granted permission to begin human trials.

HT-001

Parameters: 40 Individuals were selected from an open testing pool. 20 Females and 20 males from Lumiere University for Study. All participants are given a survey in which they list traits in a partner in which they find most desirable. Once completed, the participants are further divided into two groups. In group A. Individuals are paired with the most compatible matches. In Group B. Individuals are paired with their least compatible matches. Group A is designated as a control, group B has its male subjects applied with .20 oz of MD-20.

Results: Females in group A showed little to moderate likability towards with their male counterparts. Interactions ranged from cordial to flirtatious.

Females in group B. showed extreme interest, flirtatiousness, seductiveness, to infatuation with their male counterparts despite limited compatibility. Upon separation, the effects lasted for 15 minutes to one hour after exposure. Removal from exposure showed a delineation of effects.

If this continues, I’ll have to tender my resignation. My questions concerning the ethicality of MD-40 have clearly gone ignored. In my personal opinion, the creation of MD-40 is a sexist, callous attempt at mind control over women. The way those women were all over the subjects was one of the most disgusting displays I have ever seen masquerading under the guise of science. I am vehemently requesting that we stop all usage of MD-40 and destroy any relevant data and formulas involved. This is not something we should be messing with, much less marketing.

You are a cherished colleague here, and surely some form of compromise can be made. You cannot ignore the breakthroughs we’ve made with MD-40. So many great things have been lost to history, Flexible Glass, Roman Concrete, Greek Fire, etc. We could not possibly destroy something this valuable in the name of ethics. Subsequent interviews have shown no evidence of perceived coercion. No long lasting mental maladies have become apparent. Everyone’s will, as far as I can tell, is fully intact. Followup interviews have shown continued interest between subjects long after the effects have subsided. Work related efforts aside, we care about you here, and would not want to see you go.

I suppose a good amount of paranoia had taken hold. You have to admit, what we’re working with is a bit scary. We should continue monitoring of subjects from HT-001 just to be sure, as well as investigating the nature of those continued relationships. It should be of interest to market a mixture of male and female equivalent of MD-40 and package them to couples. What do you think? I feel the emphasis on a formula that only affects women is leaving a few of us feeling as if the efforts are one sided.

I am hereby tendering my resignation from Unilver effective immediately. It has become apparent to me that I had been subsequently exposed to MD-40, either by my own misjudgment or otherwise. Whatever the case, my cognitive abilities have been hindered and I no longer feel capable of performing the tasks I have been assigned. Even writing this letter is difficult and taking some degree of willpower to accomplish. The events over the last few weeks have made me question whether inoculating oneself from the effects of MD-40 is even possible. For my own safety, I feel it is within my own best interests to leave my position.

Marie: So what is this, some kind of couples counseling? Isn’t the therapist supposed to be here? And why is this taking place at a soap company?

Leito: Supposed to be some kind of observation. Can you guys see us?

Marie: You’ve got to be kidding me…

Leito: Why is he wearing a hazmat suit?

Marie: Leito, this is making me uncomfortable.

Researcher: This is all safe product. The suit is to prevent any kind of odors from myself, interfering with the deodorant sprays.

Leito: Ok…you’ve got to admit, it’s a bit strange.

Researcher: Leito, I’d like you to apply the first can to yourself. Marie, I want your genuine opinion of it.

(Leito obliges and applies the first can)

Marie: It smells ok I guess. Kind of like cheap cologne.

Researcher: We’ll give you some time for your senses to get used to it.

(The researcher leaves the room.)

Marie: We’re getting paid for this right?

Leito: That’s what they said.

Marie: Good, I want to go shopping with Marney later.

Leito: Shopping for what? Didn’t you just go shopping yesterday?

Marie: Just looking, there’s nothing wrong with that.

(Leito applies a brisk spray of MD-40, researcher leaves the room.)

Marie: Oh my god, that’s awful.

Leito: I told you, you messed up your own experiment.

Marie: It’s not a spray, it’s you. You’re awful.

Leito: Excuse me?

Marie: You’re cheap, you’re not very good looking. I can do so much better than you.

Leito: What is this? Where is this coming from?

Marie: I absolutely, positively hate you, with every fiber of my being. I seethe with abject hatred. Every day waking up next you is an eternal hell it feels like I can never wake up from. You’re a complete and total nightmare of a person!
