Item # 4293

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All instances SCP-4293 is to be stored at SCP Foundation site 83 unit 37-A32. SCP-4293-1 is to be housed in Suite 21 at Site 83 and allowed access to SCP-4293 under strict monitoring, for up to but no more than 2 hours per day. Outside of recreational use, SCP-4293 is to be utilized for disinformation campaigns with approval from O-5 Council member James Randall.

Description: SCP-4293 refers to 9 pods of unknown origin consisting of extra-terrestrial metal and bio-organic material measuring 1.9 meters across and .8 meters wide. They possesses a translucent glass-like material across the top and a monitoring screen attached to the anteriors. The interiors of the pods are roughly 1.4 meters in area and each possess two separate devices. The devices contain a system of tubes and microscopic hypodermic needles retrofitted to fit precise areas of the human body. The first being a smaller module which fits the occipital region of the human skull and the second to fit abdominal region. Connected to these devices are vial compatible collection chambers. When analyzed, trace fluids within the vials consisted of dopamine and monoamine serotonin. When a human subject is placed inside of the pod and said devices are attached, the pod is capable of extracting neurotransmitters from the brain as well as the lower intestines with little harm to the subject. The object is also capable of spontaneously generating picture and video imagery via an advanced method of brainwave translation. When interfaced with modern human technology, these images are capable of direct upload to any network connected to the internet.

SCP-4293-1 is a Latin-American female of approximately twenty-two years of age, with brown hair and weighing 55.1 KG going by the stage name of "Svetlana Rios." SCP-4293-1 was recovered inside of SCP-4293 at the time of discovery.

Discovery: SCP-4293 was discovered in the outskirts of Santa Barbara, California on June 5th, 2019 at the compound of social media guru Robert Macland after numerous disappearances had been reported. Sections of the compound were searched by local authorities; and after extra-terrestrial materials were discovered, an MTF team was dispatched. A disinformation campaign was subsequently disseminated under the guise of a religious cult and mass suicide. The compound itself had been divided into multiple areas, with a separate team undertaking exploration of each chamber. Despite the facility being of standard architecture, the buildings themselves were found to be extra-terrestrial in origin. Bodies discovered consisted of 9 human individuals and one of extra-terrestrial biology, that was determined to be Dr. Macland himself. Of the persons recovered, only one human female had survived. Further testing revealed that the majority of the human subjects had been deceased for up to 2 months prior to discovery.

Structures within the compound were described as follows:

Structure 1: Consisted of a lab where all instances of SCP-4293 were located. Each contained one human specimen. All humanoids had been in a form of stasis, with each one in a regressive state of care. The last instance contained the oldest subject that was in the greatest state of decay, having been determined to be a male in his mid 20’s. The most recent being the female that was found alive.

Structure 2: Described as a “game room” or leisure area for the subjects. Within this structure were numerous arcade games dating back to the 1970’s as well as a collection of movies, records, a film projector, among other items. The collection of dust on many of the items suggests that they had not been used for some time.

Structure 3: Appeared to be an animal sanctuary. The structure once housed cats, dogs, horses, sheep, goats, donkeys, alpacas, pot-bellied pigs, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Initial experimentation appears to have been the primary use for these animals but had long since been discontinued. Food stores were found to be expired and the animals are suspected to have been relocated.

Structure 4: This area was described as a living quarters, with bunks, dormitories, and sanitary facilities. The lack of restraints or areas that would be considered “holding areas” suggested that all subjects had been there of their own free will.

The exact records of the data are as of the time of this writing, indecipherable. However, video logs containing observation and experiments were retrieved. The first logs included diagrams and detailed notes explaining similarities between humans and an unknown extra-terrestrial species. The second log displays comparisons between human and alien cerebral cortexes, with particular attention paid to the frontal cortex and pathways in connection to the striatum and substantia. The third log details a map of synapses along with a transparent overlay, showing matched markers between pre-synaptic terminals and examples of enzymatic breakdown. Subsequent logs show a gradual progression of trial and error, involving the extraction and synthesis of neurotransmitters from the human body. The final log details a theoretical representation of the effects of serotonin and dopamine on the extra-terrestrial model.

Connected to the 3 most recent pods were a hybridization of technology. Further analysis revealed connections designed to interface between human and extra-terrestrial electronics. Computers, modems, fiber optic cables, and routing devices were also present. All of these devices appear to have been specialized for the purpose of generating audio-visuals directly from the human brain with an apparent scanning device.

Multiple human observation logs were recovered from the facility, primarily focused on human behavior and interaction. A brief description of each behavioral analysis is detailed below.

Approximately two months after the acquisition of SCP-4293 and its associated components, the surviving female test subject had regained consciousness. She was subjected to rehabilitation and physical therapy at Foundation Medical Facility site-21. Over the course of her rehabilitation, subsequent interviews were conducted as to the nature of her experiences with SCP-4293.

A request was put in to the O-5 Council to initiate testing on SCP-4293 with the aid of Svetlana Rios. Svetlana Rios now relegated to D-Class under designation D-5150.

A request has been made of the O-5 Council to utilize SCP-4293 as part of future disinformation campaigns due to its ability to spontaneously generate online video images. D-5150 has agreed to participate in any and all campaigns as well as indefinite detention, contingent upon allowed monitored usage of SCP-4293. Approval is currently pending.

Request from O-5 Council approved. D-5150 reclassified to SCP-4293-1.
