Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within secure storage of Site 61. SCP-XXXX is safe to handle, however under no circumstances should SCP-XXXX be enabled or powered outside of testing, or any magnetic items inserted or removed from SCP-XXXX's area of effect while it is activated.
In the case of an item being moved through and out of SCP-XXXX's magnetic field, personnel are advised to move clear of the item's trajectory and the nearest staff member to adjust SCP-XXXX's first setting dial to completely clockwise, and the second and third setting dial roughly 45° from the left.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to a large rectangular steel block measuring approximately 30cm x 10cm x 30cm. Three dials, a togglable button, and a power outlet cable are connected to one narrow side of SCP-XXXX, designated as the "front". Across one square side, designated as the "top", is a copper coil lined with an indiscernible purple material, seemingly of metallic composition.
When SCP-XXXX is powered and the button pressed in, SCP-XXXX begins to emit a magnetic field in the space above it. The first dial controls the "time range" of the field, the second controls the "strength" of the field and how rigidly magnetic materials align to SCP-XXXX's influence, and the third dial controls the rate of fluctuation in the field.
Addendum: Magnetic items placed within SCP-XXXX's magnetic field begin to rotate proportional to the rate of the third dial along the Y axis, perpendicular to the top of SCP-XXXX, and the fourth "time axis". This rotation gives the illusion that the item merges through itself towards its "flipped" orientation, and then cycles back, repeating this process until SCP-XXXX is disabled or at least one of the three dials is rotated fully counter-clockwise. Non-magnetic items are able to be physically "pushed" along in time by items affected by SCP-XXXX, resulting in anomalies suitable for further experimentation.
Dial Settings: 5°, 5°, 5°
Materials: One iron cube.
Procedure: The cube is placed on SCP-XXXX's copper coil, before SCP-XXXX is activated. Result is visually observed.
Results: The cube remained stationary.
Addendum: It appears as if SCP-XXXX does not have enough strength to influence the cube. -Dr. Karnel
Dial Settings: 5°, 90°, 5°
Materials: One iron cube.
Procedure: The cube is placed on SCP-XXXX's copper coil, before SCP-XXXX is activated. Result is visually observed.
Results: The cube began to hover approximately 20cm above the copper coil. Researchers reported it to slowly fade in opacity left and right.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX was definitely affecting the iron cube, however the rotation through the time axis was not "wide" enough, resulting in lack of motion. -Dr. Karnel
Dial Settings: 45°, 90°, 5°
Materials: One iron cube, with the word "TEST" painted on its surface.
Procedure: The cube is placed on SCP-XXXX's copper coil, before SCP-XXXX is activated. Result is visually observed.
Results: The cube began to hover approximately 20cm above the copper coil. Researchers reported two opposite sides of the cube to slowly fade out and back in, the painted word mirroring at each full rotation.
Addendum: The cube appeared to be flipping, however we know in reality it is just rotating through a fourth dimention. Say you have a two-dimentional object and you rotate it in the third dimention; from a two-dimentional perspective, the object is flipping relative to other objects, but really it is just rotating. -Dr. Karnel
Dial Settings: 45°, 90°, 90°
Materials: One iron cube, with the word "TEST" painted on its surface.
Procedure: The cube is placed on SCP-XXXX's copper coil, before SCP-XXXX is activated. Result is visually observed.
Results: The cube began to hover approximately 20cm above the copper coil. Researchers reported the cube and word to mirror "exetremely quickly". Video footage confirmed the rate of flips to be at 90 per second.
Addendum: The results are as expected, however I would not recommend any dials to be rotated any further than 90°. We don't know what would happen if something flung out of SCP-XXXX uncontrolled. -Dr. Karnel
Dial Settings: 45°, 15°, 90°
Materials: One iron cube, with the word "TEST" painted on its surface.
Procedure: The cube is placed on SCP-XXXX's copper coil, before SCP-XXXX is activated. Result is visually observed.
Results: The cube began to hover approximately 20cm above the copper coil, at a noticable decrease in movement speed. Researchers reported the cube and word to accelerate over two minutes towards approximately 90 flips per second.
Addendum: The results are as expected. -Dr. Karnel
