Alex was busy cleaning out his old attic. It was filled with lots of junk he didn't need or want anymore, so he was putting it in boxes to give to his mother, so she could sell them at her yard sale. He put junk games and game consoles in a "GAMES N' CONSOLES" box, old semi-broken toys in a "TOYS" box, etc. When out of the corner of his eye, he caught something. He turned on the flashlight on his phone to see it fully. It was an old piñata his mother had bought for his 6th birthday. But he was too scared of it, so she decided to put it in the attic, where it remained ever since. Looking at the piñata now, he could definitely see why. Just the way those eyes stared blankly at him, it was enough to unnerve and unease him. He definitely wanted to get rid of it, but then he thought to himself, "Would anyone really buy this?" He decided to ignore the weird paper unicorn for now, and focus on putting some more clothes in his "CLOTHES" box. It seemed very creepy, it was probably best to leave it up there. …Maybe forever. Yeah, no-one was gonna buy something like that. Hell, he'd probably destroy it later, or something. At least then he'd be using it like he would've all those years ago. But the candy they put inside must've been rotted and gross now, so it wouldn't even be worth it in that sense. Oh, well, he'd focus on that thing later. Now, to see what else was stored up here. Alex looked in a random drawer. He gasped, "No way!" He took out the DVD case, which shown a man wearing a blue suit with black and white shoes on the cover. The title read "LAUGH IS FUN," and the text underneath it read, "Seasons 6-10".

Alex hugged the DVD, remembering watching that show and laughing so much, "I haven't watched this in YEARS!" Yep, he was KEEPING this one. Visions and memories of Laughy McLaugherson began to dance in his head. Ah, sweet nostalgia… All of sudden there was a sound. Alex was suddenly brought back to reality, and spun his head around, "Huh?!" …Silence. Was it nothing? A mouse or something? …Alex decided maybe he'd done enough digging around the attic for one day, and so headed down the ladder. There was this sudden feeling… almost like he was being watched or followed. Alex wondered what the hell was going on as he closed the attic door. Even while he was walking to his bedroom to start taping up the boxes he collected, that feeling of being watched never went away. "…Mom?", Alex questioned as he turned around. …Still nothing. Oh, that's right, she had a meeting to attend. But then if she wasn't watching or following him… who was? Or maybe even… WHAT was? He entered his bedroom, and started taping the boxes shut. He still had work to do, he knew that. There was the sound of footsteps. Was someone actually here? They were coming from outside his bedroom. His mother was still away, so he knew it was trouble. He decided to stop what he was doing and hide in the closet. The door opened and closed. The sound of the footsteps was inside the room now. But something was strange… it almost sounded like paper with every step. Alex whimpered to himself, begging for him not to be found. "Please, oh please," he begged silently, "don't let whatever's out there find me, please…"

The footsteps headed towards the bed, then the drawers, and finally, the closet. Oh God, no! No no, nononono! He didn't want to die, he didn't! He heard the doorknob creak, oh God they were getting into th—"Hello!" …Oh, God. It was… that piñata. Oh God, it was ALIVE! The unicorn smiled and asked, "Would you like to play?" It didn't seem to mind that Alex was scared, that, or it didn't notice. Alex shivered. What the fuck could he answer with? Either "Yes" or "No" would probably leave him dead! What could he do? "…W-Why are you alive?" "Why? Because I am! Why don't you play with me?" …Well that certainly didn't answer his question, but… "…I-If I say 'yes,' will I NOT die?" The piñata titled it's head. "Why would I kill you? That's bad. I just wanna play!" Alex stammered, "U-Umm… O-Okay…" The piñata began to hop around the room excitedly, "Yay!~ I have a new friend! Play with me!" It suddenly hugged Alex tightly. Alex, unable to do anything else, hugged back nervously, "Uh… ehehe… Y-Yay?" The unicorn looked at Alex with a confused expression, "What's wrong? Why're you so scared?" Alex shivered, and stammered out whatever came out at the top of his head: "B-Because you came to life so s-suddenly!" The piñata frowned, lowering its head, "Aww… I didn't mean to scare you… I just wanted someone to have fun with."

Alex thought to himself for a bit; this situation was very, very strange, there was no doubt about that. But… the piñata didn't seem harmful. The unicorn then beamed up again and confirmed his suspicions, "But it's okay! I'm not gonna hurt you, I just wanna have fun!" Alex then smiled gently at the unicorn, "…Alright, then. What should I call you?" The piñata smiled, "Wait one second." It then left Alex to go somewhere. When it came back, it was holding a piece of paper, "I think this can explain it." Alex grabbed the piece of paper, reading what it said.

It then went through a brief collection of all the supposed "Piñata Pals" that Dr. Wondertainment apparently made, and it turned out there was quite the selection, from Ryan the Zany Rhino™, to Leon the Funny Lion™. The piece of paper then ended with:

And the list goes on and on! We hope you have a lot of fun with your new Piñata Pal. - From, the wonderfully whimsical and wild Dr. Wondertainment!

Alex looked at the paper, then back at Uni, "So… Your name is Uni, huh?" Uni smiled and nodded her head, "Uh-huh!" Alex smiled, "Huh, neat. So, why'd you come to life in the first place after being idle for so long?" Uni squinted her eyes and put her hooves in a "thinking" position, "Hmm… Well, I wanted to see how you were doing after so many years!" Alex nodded, "Ah, that makes sense, I guess." Uni smiled, "I also wanted to go on a wonderful, magical adventure with you!" Alex looked at her quizzically, "Wait… what kind of adventure?" Uni explained, "Well, I wanna introduce you to Dr. Wondertainment, and all his other wonderful friends, just like me! The Piñata Pals aren't the only animals who exist, ya know." Alex wondered what that meant, "So, wait, how do we get to Dr. Wondertainment's place?" Uni then smiled, "Just follow me! I know the way there!" Alex was skeptical of this, but decided to play along, "Alrighty, then. I'll bite." Uni then practically exploded with cheer, "YAY!!~ Oh, we're gonna have so much fun!~" Alex flinched at her sudden bout of joy, "J-Just promise me we'll be home before Mom gets home, okay? I don't wanna get in trouble or anything." Uni nodded, "Don't worry, we will. I know the World of Wonder like the back of my hooves!" Alex wanted to ask how that worked, but he decided to just ignore it for now, otherwise, he wouldn't get anywhere.

Uni walked out of the bedroom, and downstairs to the front door. Alex followed her over. Uni smiled at Alex, "So, are you ready?" Alex shrugged, "I guess I am." Uni nodded, then closed her eyes and began to speak fast, "Wonder why you would whimsically wish while whimsy awaits your wonderful world!" She said this following phrase three times in a rapid sequence. She then opened the front door, and what Alex saw afterwards stunned Alex to his core. What used to be a normal cul-de-sac was now some weird, crazy city. Creatures were made of candy and other edibles, buildings were bizarrely shaped and twisted and turned in all sorts of weird directions. There were children walking from school to school, apparently wanting to get quite the education. There were twisty and turny roller-coasters and huge lollipop trees, there were giant castles all around and far away. Alex just stood there, almost completely stunned. How was this even possible? Did he end up in some sort of fairy tale? Uni suddenly said, "I know this seems like a dream, Alex." Alex then looked at her, the unicorn smiling gently at the boy, "But I can assure you, this is all real and it's all wonderful!~" Alex couldn't believe it. Had he really found his way inside some sort of magical world?

Uni lead him to the middle of a city, where a large throne-esque swirly chair was turned away from them. Uni spoke to the chair, "Dr. Wondertainment? I brought a guest!" The chair then began to slowly turn around until it revealed a middle-aged man with orange hair and a large, twirly moustache. He wore a purple three-piece suit, a yellow bowtie, white gloves, and black and white wing tipped shoes. He looked sorta like Willy Wonka. Helping that was the purple top hat with a yellow stripe he wore. As soon as the man saw Alex, he jumped to his feet, "Ah! Hello, howdy! Welcome to Wonder World!™, the place where dreams become reality, and the impossible is possible!" He then pressed a button on the right arm of his chair, and a few multi-colored lollipops popped out of a container in the left arm. He took the lollipops and held them out, as if to ask if Alex and Uni wanted one, "Lollipop?" Alex didn't know whether to trust this man, but… he didn't seem to want to harm people, so he took a lollipop. "Thanks." Uni grabbed one as well, something that Alex didn't even bother to question at this point, "Thank you, Dr. Wondertainment!" The man known as Dr. Wondertainment grabbed his own lollipop. Alex tasted the lollipop he had. His lollipop tasted like… red velvet cake. One of his favorite desserts! Apparently, though, this flavor changed, as Uni smiled, speech muffled as she had the lollipop in her mouth, "Mmm… strawberry banana…"

Dr. Wondertainment licked his lollipop once, and apparently got a flavor he didn't prefer, "Hmmh… Cherry again? I thought I'd get kiwi watermelon this time. Ah, well, it doesn't matter!" Alex finished his lollipop, the taste of red velvet streamlining down his throat. Alex smiled, "That tasted… delicious!" Wondertainment smirked, "I know, right? Everyone knows my patented Multi-Flavor Lollipops™ please everyone!" Alex looked at Wondertainment, "Dr. Wonder… can I call you that?" Dr. Wonder turned to Alex, "Ah, certainly, that's what many of my friends call me! By the way, what's you name?" Alex spoke, "My name is Alex. I wanna ask… how'd you do all this?" Dr. Wonder put his hand up to his chin, "Hmm… You know, Alex, they do say a magician can't reveal his tricks." Alex looked down, "Ah, right, sorry." Dr. Wonder beamed, "Don't be! We all make mistakes, big or small, but I can help you through it all!"

Uni shed a small tear and clapped her hooves, while Alex looked at Dr. Wonder a bit puzzled. He then took off his hat, took a bow, then put his hat back on. The toymaker then smiled, "Ah, that always feels good!"
