The Cube

Item #: SCP-5765

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5765 is kept in a 10x10x10 metre room of granite with rubber surrounding the walls and two 3x2 metre sheets of silver on either side of the entity. The silver must be replaced every week due to the electric strikes on the metal. There is a airlock to enter the chamber so light and electricity cannot come in and out respectively. No light is to be shone into the cell as this will cause the artefact to expand. No living organisms are to enter SCP-5765's cell as this will also cause the the anomaly to expand. It is prohibited to be looking at SCP-5765 without authorisation, as this will cause the personnel to become paralysed and disintegrate over the course of one hour.

Description: SCP-5765's appearance has not been properly documented however personnel who have looked at the specimen and been connected to equipment similar to the technology used when communicating with people who have recently recovered from comas, have stated that it appears to be a cube consisting of a dimension higher than ours. After entering the cell of SCP-5789 multiple D-class personnel have been struck with what appears to be electricity, then encased in a substance yet to be identified and then sucked into the object causing it to expand, the same happens when light is shone into the cell. Looking at SCP-5765 is highly discouraged as this will cause the personnel to become paralysed and disintegrate over the course of one hour, it has not been confirmed as to why some personnel exposed to the cube feel pain and others do not when disintegrating or being sucked into the cube(When being sucked into the cube the other personnel define whether or not the D-class personnel feels pain by the amount of screaming in agony or other indications). The artefact appears to have sentience, indicated by the fact that it is extremely smart and caused power outages daily until the silver plating was added.

Personnel who have looked at SCP-5765 and have been connected to equipment similar to the technology used to communicate with people who have recently recovered from comas have been interviewed:

Interviewed: Samuel Trell
Interviewer: Prof. Jasmine █████
Foreword: Samuel Trell was D-Class Personnel, exposed to SCP-5765 during earliest tests

<Begin Log, 18:00, 9/9/2019>

Prof. Jasmine █████: What did SCP-5765 look like?
Samuel Trell: It was multiple cubes, all inside one another and spinning around a central point
Prof. Jasmine █████: How do you feel?
Samuel Trell: I feel marvellous! Like if I wasn't paralysed I could jump to the sun!
Prof. Jasmine █████: Do you know why that is?
Samuel Trell: No, but I'm loving it!
(Samuel Trell fell onto the ground as the last of their body disintegrated, multiple people rushed towards the chair Samuel Trell was sitting in.)

<End Log, 01:34 10/9/2019>

Closing Statement: In the commotion the log was forgotten and wasn't turned off until many hours later, hence the End Log time being much later than the Begin Log

Interviewed: Seairra Yoll
Interviewer: Prof. Jasmine █████
Foreword: Seairra Yoll was D-Class Personnel, exposed to SCP-5765 during earliest tests

<Begin Log, 15:00, 19/9/2019>

Prof. Jasmine █████: What did SCP-5765 look like?
Seairra Yoll: It was cubes, many, many cubes inside each other and each of them rotating
Prof. Jasmine █████: (Slight nod) How do you feel?
Seairra Yoll: How I feel? I feel nothing, nothing at all, not even this chair.
Prof. Jasmine █████: Do you know why that is?
Seairra Yoll: Not a clue, but I would like to find out.
Prof. Jasmine █████: Okay, thank you for your time.
Seairra Yoll: My pleasure.
<End Log, 15:01 19/9/2019>

Closing Statement: Seairra Yoll was then wheeled out of the room and further into the facility

Interviewed: Alex Drondo
Interviewer: Prof. Jasmine █████
Foreword: Alex Drondo was D-Class Personnel, exposed to SCP-5765 during earliest tests

<Begin Log, 17:00, 19/9/2019>

Prof. Jasmine █████: How do you feel?
Alex Drondo: I feel like [DATA REDACTED]!
Prof. Jasmine █████: Do you know why that is?
Alex Drondo (Shouting): No! I don''t [DATA REDACTED] know why that [DATA REDACTED] is! Do you [DATA REDACTED] know why that is, [DATA REDACTED]?
Prof. Jasmine █████: Please, calm down.
Alex Drondo (Shouting): No! Do you even know how hard that is? No! No you don't 'cause you live in luxury while we D-Class are enslaved!(██████ █████████ went on for multiple minutes
Prof. Jasmine █████ (After he calmed down): What did SCP-5765 look like?
Alex Drondo: It was. (Pause) Well its hard to explain. So let me draw it for you!
(Using the machine connected to him he entered the facility's database, entered a sketch program and perfectly drew SCP-5789 in seconds. He then showed it to Prof. Jasmine █████, where she was then paralysed)

<End Log, 17:10 19/9/2020>

Closing Statement: The guards then immediately detained Alex Drondo. Prof. Jasmine █████ was declared dead later that day.

These are the most notable interviews during the earliest tests and many others had similar experiences, however Alex Drondo accessing the facilities database was the first and only occurrence of this phenomenon. It may be the effect of Alex having interactions with other SCP however other D-Class have also had interactions with other SCP and have not had this peculiar occurrence. Other personnel exposed also appear to have the ability to see new colours.

It is classified as Euclid because of its ability to move and change temperature at will. It also appears to have sentience and know exactly where and how everything in the facility is placed and works. This is observed by the many power outages that have been caused by it precisely striking single nano metre gaps in the rubber shielding.

It has been known to destroy cameras(with heavy filtering to avoid paralysis and death) and then proceed to create a heavy banging noise in the room. No-one knows for sure what creates this noise however speculation and little evidence suggests that the artefact is ramming itself into the floor to the north-east. However there is little evidence that supports this no other evidence to support other theories has been found.
