item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: When entering SCP-XXXX's container, There should be at least 2 personnel, 4 if the purpose of entering is to interview. Those chosen to enter must first be tested for any heart-related diseases or depression/low self-esteem/little optimism. SCP-XXXX cannot be viewed directly and personnel must wear cold vision headsets, developed [REDACTED]. If personnel view SCP-XXXX without the headset, then the personnel is locked in until dead, to prevent containment breach. If the purpose of entering is for an interview, it is important to not make it last extensively, as this could result in more casualties than one.

Description: SCP-XXXX was found in a small town called [REDACTED] in the United Kingdom, in the ██st century. It resembles the myth of the grim reaper. When any human is close to death they may see SCP-XXXX watching. However, they are the only one who can see it. These sights of it are called "ghosts", and are not actually SCP-XXXX but are "clones" of him. They have found to be non-tangible.

SCP-XXXX himself is visible by all and emits a sort of aura, described as a "chilling feeling to the bone" by many. overexposure can lead to frostbite and hypothermia, and eventually death. However, it has little or no effect on the highly optimistic.

It is unsafe to directly look at it. This includes any pictures or recordings of it unless distorted/modified. Looking at it will cost it to hover a centimeter off the ground, and will glide through the air towards its observer, hand stretched out, with a scythe in the other. At this point, it is impossible to escape SCP-XXXX and it will phase through all materials until it has its scythe swing through its observer. When it was found in the remote location [REDACTED] several people died at the first attempt at containment.

During the process of SCP-XXXX's containment, a personnel was suddenly killed, even though they had a cold vision headset on. It then took an old piece of paper out and used the blood of the deceased victim to write on it so it could communicate(see interviews). SCP-XXXX is shown to be highly intelligent.

Upon closer inspection, the deceased victims,(the ones that died by directly observing SCP-XXXX) they seemed to be perfectly alive. However, the mind seems to be in a frozen state/missing. Not exactly unconscious, but not conscious either. After a few hours, due to a lack of brain function, the victim dies.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX

Interviewer: Dr.Randalls

Foreword: SCP-XXXX is not actually talking, but using the blood of a class D
personnel(deceased) to communicate by writing with it on paper.

<Begin Log,>

Dr.Randalls: Hello, SCP-XXXX. How are you today?

SCP-XXXX: My name is Grimm.

Dr.Randalls: I have some questions for you today. As you seemed eager to talk when you
killed that security officer.

SCP-XXXX: Ask away. but don't waste blood. Or you or one of your guards might be next.

Dr. Randalls: Why use blood? Why insist on NOT using a pencil?

SCP-XXXX: It's more fun, this way. Plus pencils reminds me of forks scratching plates.

Dr.Randalls: Why do you kill any who perceive you?

SCP-XXXX: By looking, they see death, hidden under my hood. It would drive them insane
for the rest of their lives. A fate worse than death. Living death.

Dr.Randalls: Moving on(stops to take notes). What happens to the perceivers you killed?
They don't exactly die they….

SCP-XXXX: I took their souls.

Dr.Randalls: but souls aren't a real thing.

SCP-XXXX: They keep their lives when they perceive me. But knowing death is deadly
knowledge, and if they know it, their soul becomes property, of death. Their mind

Dr.Randalls: right…. Do you hate all life?

SCP-XXXX: No.

Dr.Randalls: Then why do you kill?

SCP-XXXX: All must eventually die. Death (me) is an extension of time and the laws of
thermodynamics. I am obligated to do so.

Dr.Randalls: Do you know what SCP-012 is? do you know about it?

SCP-XXXX: [DATA EXPUNGED]

Dr.Randalls: do you know SCP-049? He talks

SCP-XXXX: Next question.

Dr.Randalls: You need to-

Note: (Lights in the containment flicker and the two personnel accompanying Dr.Randalls are on the floor dead. Dr.Randalls panics.)

SCP-XXXX: Next question.

<End Log,>

Closing Statement: The interview is postponed. Dr.Randalls has been screened for health
issues and must be replaced, as SCP-XXXX has damaged his optimism. Currently, no staff can
replace him or the officers killed. None have passed screening for medium levels of optimism or
lower. The interview is postponed.

Addendum 1: SCP-XXXX seems to have a sadistic personality, and occasionally kills personnel sent to keep up maintenance in its containment. Note that due to a lack of optimistic people on staff, these maintenance jobs are kept brief. When he kills personnel, his body language suggests he is silently laughing, and will then use their blood to write to the cameras in its containment.

Addendum 2: SCP-XXXX's occasional messages are informing. Although he doesn't say much, saying he prefers the interviews instead of talking through a camera. Saying it's more fun in an interview. The blood not used somehow disappears, as autopsies show. Occasionally, it reveals when someone on staff is about to die. It can only tell when someone is about to die an hour before it happens. However, it says it will only reveal that a minute before it happens. It then proceeded to silently laugh

Addendum 3: A containment breach happened, when SCP-XXXX knocked off the cold vision headset off a class-D Personnel. Upon sight, the Class-D ran away from the containment. He was shot in an attempt to stop containment breach, yet security officers were too late. SCP-XXXX caused massive casualties. It found SCP-012, and completed a whole page, before moving on and found SCP-343, and had a conservation with it. All wire tap's in the facility were turned off and all doors were locked. an hour later, SCP-XXXX was found in its room, agitated. When asked about it, SCP-XXXX killed all who asked him(see Addendum 5). There is also evidence that he met SCP-049 during the breach.

Addendum 4: SCP-XXXX has mentioned there are beings like him, but they aren't "grim reapers". He is the only one.

Addendum 5: Eventually, SCP-XXXX explained what he did during his containment breach, including his conversation with SCP-343. [DATA EXPUNGED]
