Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed in a 6'5" wide by 6' deep elevator shaft in Site-19. Low-level security is needed for containment, as the only chance of breach is by access to the inside of SCP-XXXX. Two (2) armed security personnel are to guard the outside of SCP-XXXX at all times. Security personnel are allowed to exchange shifts in guarding SCP-XXXX. A shift must last a minimum of 3 hours. Longer shifts are allowed. Access to the inside of SCP-XXXX is allowed to personnel of Level-2 (Level-Two) clearance or higher. Only one (1) Level-2 personnel (or higher) may enter/use SCP-XXXX at a time. All personnel who use SCP-XXXX must report where they went, how long it took to arrive at the destination, and how long it took to return to Site-19.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an elevator of unknown design. No company marks are visible and no commercial elevators match the design. An etching is present on the left side of the wooden interior with the image of a globe and the words 'Around the world and back'. Nothing unusual or anomalous is present visually other than a keyboard installed above the number pad (num-pad) going from 0-9. The keyboard is missing all keys other than letters and some symbols such as the czech háček. The keyboard is on a small shelf above the keypad. Any efforts to remove the keyboard from the shelf have failed. It is unknown what's keeping the keyboard attached to the shelf. Above the keyboard is an LED screen, which displays any letters typed with the keyboard or any buttons pressed on the num-pad. When a specific destination with an elevator/elevator shaft is typed with the keyboard and a floor number is pressed with the num-pad, the elevator arrives at the destination within twenty (20) minutes. On the num-pad there is also an X button, which acts as an enter key for the screen; because of this, multiple floor buttons can be pressed one after another if the desired floor is 2 digits or higher. Cross-continental trips have been successful, including trips into other Foundation sites/areas with elevators/elevator shafts. No electrical source or anything to assist the movement of SCP-XXXX is required for it to perform its primary anomalous function. Inputting just a number as to head to the requested floor in the current building is unsuccessful and has no effect unless you input a location/building as well as the floor.

Discovery: Rumors of a magical elevator that could travel anywhere were spread throughout social media and news sources in the U.S.A. Foundation personnel undercover asked several civilians who spread the rumors where the elevator is. When answers were inconsistent, Foundation personnel all over the U.S.A. were placed in several busy buildings undercover as repairmen who were told of problems with the elevators. ███ elevators were searched before SCP-XXXX was found in the Empire State Building on the ██th floor.
