SCP-XXXX:

Class: Safe

Containment: SCP-XXXX requires at least one guard stationed outside its containment room at all times.

It is required that SCP-XXXX be stored in a relatively cool room of at maximum twenty (20) degrees Celsius and a minimum of six (6) degrees Celsius. SCP-XXXX must be stored in a room no smaller than 3 metres by 3 metres.

In the case of any liquids being found on SCP-XXXX, they are to be handled with plastic safety gloves. They are not to touch the skin and are to be placed in a plastic bag and taken to site 9 for immediate testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX resembles a regular knife, an HRT tactical boot knife. The knife was reported in 1991 and safely contained in ████.

No one known by the foundation knows where the knife was originally discovered, however it was contained by the foundation at █████ and is rumoured to have been sold to a man in █████ by Mrs. ████ from ███████.

The knife looks like an ordinary knife, and according to subject D-██████ – one of its users – it felt exactly like the model it appeared to be. This statement was made three hours before he died.

SCP-XXXX causes its holder to never let go until death. When a victim grabs the knife they hold on to it, despite their urge to release it. The knife will be attached to the hand, and most cases of victims of SCP-XXXX have been found with severe burns on their palms, alluding to the idea that their hand was welded to SCP-XXXX.

Once a subject is holding on to SCP-XXXX the subject loses all control of their legs, and their hand not connected to SCP-XXXX. The subject will run to the nearest surface and commence a game of Five Finger Fillet. Subject D-██████ the subject from D-block who volunteered to undertake investigation of SCP-XXXX also stated during his game that he was aware of what he was doing. A full document of what subject D-██████ said will be attached.

A game of five finger fillet would typically take a regular person about a minute, or however long it takes them to hit one of their fingers. With SCP-XXXX attached to a subject’s hand, the game will take as long as it takes to kill the subject, or a period of time unknown to the foundation. SCP-XXXX has of the moment a one-hundred percent kill rate, because of this it is unknown whether or not contact with SCP-XXXX can be survived.

A subject with a hold on SCP-XXXX will continue to play Five Finger Fillet until death by blood loss occurs. It is unknown why, but SCP-XXXX increases the blood loss made when a cut occurs on the body. It is thought that SCP-XXXX is coated with a very thin layer of liquid: SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is what is thought to cause the increased blood loss, however no such substance has been found.
No known subject who has held SCP-XXXX has survived beyond nine hours. The only one to survive nine hours was Mrs. █████.

SCP-XXXX has been said to have existed in the late 19th century to early 20th century, despite the knife’s model not existing at that time.

Document XXXX-03:

Subject D-██████: ‘I can feel what I’m doing. I’m in control of my actions, I choose where the knife hits, but I can’t stop. You know that feeling you get when you know you should stop doing something, but you’re having too much fun doing it that you don’t want to? That’s what I’m feeling now, but without the fun.’
He chuckled shakily to himself whilst staring intently at his hand laid spread out on the table.
Subject D-██████: ‘I think I can’t last too much longer. I’ve already hit my fingers twice, there’s blood all over the table.’

This document was made one hour before he died, after his death he was found with burns all over his right palm, but throughout the entire experiment there was no mention of any pain in that hand.
