SCP-XXXX

A picture taken when SCP-XXXX, or "Elephant's Foot", was discovered.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained in a small room or cell with the measurements of two meters by two meters, and a roof only elevated three meters above the ground. The room must have several steps and tubes circling around the room, allowing SCP-XXXX to circulate radiation so it does not cause any large radioactive bursts. The room and the tubes must be lined with heavy amounts of lead-based materials (such as Tin, Tungsten or Bismuth) to block out immense radiation. If SCP-XXXX is needed to be moved, all sources of transportation must be lined with lead-based material.

Two air conditioning systems must be running constantly in SCP-XXXX's cell. Both systems must be set to -4°C (or 24.8°F) at all times to disable SCP-XXXX from initiating movement. SCP-XXXX does not have to be observed by personnel, but both air conditioning systems must be cleaned every other week on Tuesday, at 6:30 A.M. No items above temperatures of 37.77°C (or 100°F) are allowed to enter SCP-XXXX's cell or the observation area. If any items are brought in which are above the temperature limit, they will be immediately taken out and destroyed, and the two air conditioning systems must be set to a temperature 15 degrees lower than the usual temperature for two hours.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large, solid mass of radioactive materials (corium, silicon dioxide, and uranium) and large slabs of broken concrete mixed with crystallized sand, and a black tint covering the majority of its body. Although SCP-XXXX appears to only be an amalgamation of random materials, it is actually a sentient being, but only initiates movement when exposed to heat. SCP-XXXX's movement is extremely slow, noted as being "as slow as a snail" by personnel that have observed SCP-XXXX.

The amount of radiation being secreted by SCP-XXXX is extremely lethal, and if any subject is exposed to the radiation, it has been noted that most internal organs are damaged to an extent where the subject can no longer be treated by medical means and is left to decompose in the room. Subjects that have made contact with SCP-XXXX without protection have been seen to immediately have problems breathing, dilated cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart that cannot circulate blood correctly) and extreme gastric issues. After 40 seconds of exposure, subjects begin to vomit a substance that has been assumed to be blood and have a tendency to cough up blood due to the radiation's effect on the gastric system and pulmonary system. After one minute and 20 seconds of exposure to SCP-XXXX and subjects can be seen trembling on the floor near SCP-XXXX, almost always in a fetal position. The radiation secreted affects the subject's brain and causes speech impediment, and the subject can only mumble and grunt to communicate. After one minute and 45 seconds of exposure to SCP-XXXX, the subject has officially been declared as deceased due to internal bleeding, and their body is left in the room to decompose.

If SCP-XXXX makes contact with any sort of material that is not lead-based, it will melt through it, including walls, floors, and cells of other entities being contained.

Addendum[ORIGIN]: SCP-XXXX was first discovered below a nuclear reactor in the country of Ukraine, in the year ████. People that had worked in the area were exposed to SCP-XXXX's radiation constantly, until one of the workers, ████ ████████, contacted the SCP Foundation complaining that SCP-XXXX was a hazard to any person near the area of its discovery.
