Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5421 is uncontainable using modern science or other SCPs in foundation custody. As of current, there is no functional method of predicting the first instance location of SCP-5421. However, the second occurance location can be determined by finding the exact antipode of the first occurance. The location of the second occurance of SCP-5421 is to be cleared of civilians

SCP-5421 occurrence locations do not require any security assignations. Locations are to be claimed by the foundation and analyzed is permitted by the assigned field research team. Post-research SCP-5421 occurrences are to be sealed with materials matching the environment up to 20m deep (from ground level). Civilians that have witnessed SCP-5421 instances are to be administered class-A amnesties.

Civilians that are injured by SCP-5421 are to be taken into Foundation custody and research is to be conducted. Due to the unnatural nature of wounds obtained from SCP-5421 instances, civilians injured in SCP-5421 instances are to be detained indefinitely.

Description: SCP-5421 is a standard, red pipe wrench in orbit of Sol at an average speed of 30km/s (equivilent to Earth's orbital speed). SCP-5421 occupies the same orbit as Earth though in the opposite direction. Instances of SCP-5421 refer to the occasions where SCP-5421 collides with and penetrates the earth. Any matter that interferes with SCP-5421's physical trajectory is immediately removed from existence. Hence, all attempts to halt or destroy the object failing. However, all surrounding matter is left entirely undisturbed. Laboratory results show that the immediate surrounding matter to an SCP-5421 occurrence is entirely smooth and featureless to the atomic scale.

SCP-5421 instances occur on a biannual basis on June 20th and December 21st (summer and winter solstices). The time of all SCP-5421 first instances have been at exactly 06:45:21 pm (Pacific Daylight Time) at the point of collision. A second instance of SCP-5421 occurs precisely 12 minutes and 44.4 seconds after the first impact. The second instance is consistently antipodal (opposite on the Earth) to the first instance of SCP-5421. SCP-5421 first was noticed by the foundation in 2010 when a

SCP-5421's length and width are always parallel to the tangent of the earth at the collision point. SCP-5421 instance locations were first believed to be random by the foundation, but analysis of the instance locations have shown first instances consistently occur in large population areas and hit a civilian victim 70% of all instances. Second instances of SCP-5421 show no pattern and commonly in the ocean. No human victim has ever been claimed by the second instances.

Civilians injured an SCP-5421 incidents will immediately lose consciousness. Any living-matter that is implicated in the trajectory of the SCP-5421 is immediately removed from existence. Although the removed area is invisible and is permeable to matter, the function of the removed matter remains after the incident. After regaining consciousness, the victim will not be able to notice that the body part is missing but will notice that the body part is permeable by matter including their own body parts. However, the function of inanimate objects and structures do not hold the original function after being struck.
