Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXX is to be held in a standard object containment chamber at Site ██. Only personnel with Level 3 security clearance can access SCP-XXX outside of testing.
Any personnel who wishes to use SCP-XXX is to be forewarned about its properties, and that any attempts to break into the machine for a refund or to obtain a drink are to be met with force from no less than two armed guards.
Every month, Dr. ██████ will come to collect the money and refill the machine. No other personnel are allowed to access SCP-XXX during this process.
Due to incident SCP-XXX-a, individuals interacting with SCP-XXX are to be checked for the presence of SCP-714.
Description:
SCP-XXX appears to be a standard █████ brand vending machine, a monitor with a keyboard being the only exceptions in appearance. When inserting currency into SCP-XXX, it will not always allow the customer to purchase a drink. Due to unknown reasons, this occurrence promotes rage in the robbed subject, prompting the subject to attempt to break into the machine to obtain a refund or a drink. However, any attempts to break open the machine for this purpose causes immediate cardiac arrest in the subject.
On some occasions when the machine does allow a purchase, two drinks will appear instead of one, causing sudden guilt in the subject, even if subject is instructed about the mind-altering effects of SCP-XXX. The subject will attempt to open the machine to put the drink back inside the machine, but will feel drowsy and depressed, eventually fainting. The subject will not wake, and all body functions will cease without warning. Autopsies have revealed drowning to be the cause of death, specifically with the type of liquid acquired and the obtained drinks will have been unexplainably emptied, even when locked up prior to the subject fainting.
On the ██ of every month, SCP-XXX will spit out all received currency, and a slot will open in the back of SCP-XXX. SCP-XXX will display a prompt on the screen, informing the person who collects the money how much SCP-XXX will need to be fully stocked. Upon entering the amount displayed, SCP-XXX will automatically close the slot, and resume operation.
Incident report SCP-[Number Pending]-a:
At ██/██, ████, Dr. ███████ conducted a test on SCP-XXX in conjunction with SCP-714. Dr. ███████ purchased ███████ from SCP-XXX, and received two drinks. Due to SCP-714, Dr. ███████ was immune to the memetic effects of SCP-XXX, and began exiting the room, when SCP-XXX produced a large snake-like metal appendage, and [DATA EXPUNGED] Dr. ███████. After notifying the site manager of a containment breach regarding SCP-XXX, the two armed guards proceeded to pull Dr. ███████ off of the metal appendage, which was slowly reeling back into SCP-XXX.
