Scp-10101 is currently in orbit following incident 10101-A (see addendum 10101-4[this is gonna be a tale]). Scp-10101 ceased growth roughly 5 minutes after commencement of incident 10101-A, coinciding with the predicted rate of asphyxiation for poi-10101
Scp-10101 is to be surveiled and any sightings are to be discredited.
Former containment procedures(outdated):
Scp-10101 is to be contained within site-10101 and stripped for parts twice daily by D-class personnel. All parts are to undergo testing to determine anomalous properties before incineration, with anomalous parts and their suspected purpose catalogued for further study with exceptions made for particularly dangerous anomalies retrieved.
In the event that parts are not stripped within a 48-hour period for any reason, the onsite nuclear core is to be detonated with approval of level-4 or higher personnel followed by prolonged saturation bombing. The core is to be moved to a provisional site until permanent containment is reestablished.
Research into the purpose of scp 10101 is top priority.
Description:
scp 10101 was a highly anomalous, seemingly self replicating machine with no apparent purpose. All mechanisms discovered within scp 10101 (both anomalous and mundane) served only to set off or set up another mechanism within scp-10101. At the time of incident 10101-A, over 19,632,000 anomalous mechanisms had been cataloged.
Scp-10101's replication was exponential in nature, as each newly created mechanism would contribute to the continued growth of the anomaly. Foundation simulations estimated that scp-10101 would envelop the earth within 128 hours, resulting in a PK-Class "planetary suffocation" scenario
Addendum 10101-1 discovery:
Scp 10101 initially came to the foundation's attention when consistent noise complaints about a constant whirring with intermittent beeps spread from the residents of the [redacted] floor of the [redacted] apartment complex in [redacted] to the entire town, with original noise complaints ceasing. Following its discovery, all nearby residents were amnestisised and relocated, and site 10101 was built around scp 10101 do to its massive size. Analytics suggest that scp 10101 originated from room 408 of the building, and the previous resident of room 408, [redacted], has been designated poi-10101.
Addendum 10101-2 exploration:
[Exploration into the initial building, which was still accessible at the time. Some members of mtf mole rats get got by some parts of the machine, and previously unrecovered residents are found in between parts of machinery, dead from either crushing or starvation. Maybe some broken god books and furniture crushed into the machinery.
