Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The Foundation is to assist SCP-XXXX-2A instances in locating SCP-XXXX-1. Foundation staff have been planted in major health services across the globe in order to efficiently capture instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
Although there is no known cure to SCP-XXXX, particularly anxious or hyperactive instances of SCP-XXXX-1 can be treated with Class-B sedatives. This method is not completely reliable, however, and is not advised for regular usage.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon characterized by a number of discrete symptoms, most often found in victims of chronic bullying, depression, anxiety, and other detrimental long-term psychological states. Symptoms of SCP-XXXX generally manifest as symptoms of other non-anomalous mental illnesses, especially in its early stages. Symptoms include, but are not limited to:
- Auditory and visual hallucinations
- Acute paranoia
- Delusion
- Social isolation
- Insomnia
While these symptoms may be indicative of SCP-XXXX infection, they are not distinguishable from any other non-anomalous mental affliction until middle or late stages, at which point most victims are well beyond the help of modern medicine.
SCP-XXXX is most common in individuals who feel as though they have lost themselves, usually as a result of some traumatic, psychologically damaging event. SCP-XXXX also appears in victims of schizophrenia or related disorders. Symptoms of SCP-XXXX appear within an indefinite time range after the initial change in character has occurred, with symptoms often appearing gradually over time. Once victims have reached this stage, the symptoms of other mental illnesses are usually well established, making extraction of information from victims difficult.
(fit somewhere) It is unknown when SCP-XXXX infection sets in. MRI scans reveal no anomalous features in the brains of SCP-XXXX-1 instances.
Victims of SCP-XXXX, hereon referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, often report a number of distinctive symptoms in addition to those felt prior to anomalous presence. These reports are usually not made until what are presumably the middle to late stages of SCP-XXXX infection. All victims describe identical hallucinations, (SCP-XXXX-2) with the exception of mild variation in the appearance of SCP-XXXX-3A and SCP-XXXX-3B.
SCP-XXXX-2 is the designation for an unknown location only visible to SCP-XXXX-1 through their hallucinations. It is not currently known whether or not SCP-XXXX-2 corresponds to an actual location, or is entirely apart of the hallucinations. SCP-XXXX-2 is typically described by SCP-XXXX-1 as resembling a large, metropolitan city in a state of severe disrepair. SCP-XXXX-1 note the constant presence of heavy footsteps throughout SCP-XXXX-2. (exploration log or paragraph?)
