Symbol referred to by the Abyssists as the “Arrow of the Descended”.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXD is to be contained within a 1 x 1 x 1 m box of bulletproof glass. No one is to interact with SCP-XXXX except for project researcher, Dr. Door.

Description: SCP-XXX is a red clay jar measuring 12 cm in height with a 7.5 cm diameter. The open end is sealed with deer hide tied around the jar several times over in a knotted web and marked with a yet unknown symbol. Abbyssist subject Liber (see Interview Logs) identified the symbol as the “Arrow of the Descended,” but no such symbol has been recorded in the Foundation archives. Foundation experts have confirmed that the above mentioned physical components of SCP-XXXX are consistent with their respective components found in [REDACTED], Wisconsin, where SCP-XXXX was discovered. Testing on samples of these components has not yielded any indication of anomalous properties. It is for this reason that the symbol, henceforth referred to as the Arrow of the Descended (AD) is what gives the object its anomalous properties.

SCP-XXXX is able to draw any item within 10 m of its opening into self upon opening. Items affected by SCP-XXXX undergo a spaghettification process before entering its opening consistent with that of any object with mass under the influence of a strong gravitational force, such as a black hole. Further testing is required to determine the exact and upper limits of this force. The exact size and mass limit of items that SCP-XXXX can draw into itself is also yet unknown. Only one item can be drawn into SCP-XXXX at a time with the exception of items smaller than SCP-XXXX.

Items lost to SCP-XXXX are immediately forgotten by those who were in possession of or engaged in any form of contact with them, even after the application of mnestics. Records of their existence are instantly overwritten or erased, depending on the nature of said records. Only subjects who shared a strong degree of sentimentality with the items have been shown to remember their existence. Testing on human subjects has been requested approved to test the exact effects of entering SCP-XXXX. (see Testing Logs).

SCP-XXXX (discovery) was first discovered in [REDACTED], Wisconsin while Foundation personnel were investigating reports of the sudden disappearance of over [REDACTED] missing persons. Those reported to be missing showed no known record in any U.S. Census or Foundation database. Those who reported the missing persons have been described by eyewitnesses as highly distraught and known to break into sudden fits of hysteria (see Interview log 1). Foundation personnel tracked the epicenter of the disappearances to [REDACTED] Forest where SAR team Delta-Gama was deployed July 7th, 2017. The following audio file details their findings:
