Item #: SCP-384-2
Object Class: Zeno (Medium Containment Difficulty/Low Threat)
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-384-2 is to be kept in a 1-1-1 ft locked black metal box. SCP-384-2's black box is to be kept in a 5 by 5 square foot room guarded by 2 guards at all times.
Description: SCP-384-2 is a small orb of glowing mass approximately 8 inches in diameter. SCP-384-2 is also known to have the ability to shape shift between different living creatures. It can use this ability by shrinking or growing by absorbing more light from sources around it. Another ability SCP-384-2 has is the ability to teleport by shrinking down to a microscopic level and using electric currents in the air to move around, effectively teleporting.
SCP-384-2 is strongly affected by the color black and looses it's ability to shape shift and teleport if fully surrounded by it. This is believed to be the case because it's abilitys depend on it absorbing light from a source around it. Subjects that have interacted with SCP-384-2 all have different stories.
Addendum: One subject stated that when they had first looked at it they said, "It was just light so bright that I thought I would go blind looking at it!" After that, the subject began to calm down and then stated that "the light began to shrink, smaller and smaller untill there was no light at all."
Another subject stated that they had seen a small dog stumbling around aimlessly. The subject then began to follow the dog to see where it was going. The subject then said "the little guy turned into an abandoned alley. I went to go follow him until I saw a bright flash of light and a howl around the corner! I went to go see what had happened, but the alley was completely empty."
The strangest case we have about SCP-384-2 is a subject who saw a brown owl in her house, trying to get out. She had recently painted her daughter's room black, and she didn't want the owl to mess up the still drying paint. The subject went upstairs to her daughter's room to close the door, she got to the door but the owl had followed her. The owl then swooped into her room to try to find a way to escape by scratching at the dry parts of the walls. After a few futile attemps to escape, the owl then fell to the floor limp. The subject then went to go pickup the limp owl but then it began shake violently. SCP-384-2 then began to glow bright light as it grew into a large dog shaped creature and glowing even brighter, It then shrunk down to the size of an ant. Then the subject stated that the light began to float up in the air grow into about an 8 inch dimly glowing orb.
