Scp 4683
Designation safe
Scp 4683 is piece of iron rebar, currently .93 meters long. It’s anomalous effects are distinct between its two endpoints, hereafter referred to as 4683-A, and 4683-B. 4683-A is twisted sharply along its axis, the first few inches composed of a tight spiral completing roughly 3 rotations per inch traveled along its axis, then gradually loosening the rate of rotation along its length. By .4meters from 4683-A the spiral has straightened completely, leaving an undamaged length of rebar that continues till terminating in 4683-B. The anomalous effects of 4646 are only activated when 4683-A is driven into a solid or liquid mass with a force exceeding 2000 Newton’s, at which point 4683 will become embedded in said mass. The embedding is always seamless, leaving no cracks or other stress damage in the mass, creating the appearance that 4683 has grown out of it. Containers will not leak, and animals will no bleed, etc.
Twisting 4683 with more than 50 Newton’s per meter (n•m) while embedded will result in the mass “twisting” as the rebar turns, regardless of the hardness or viscosity of the mass, now an example of 4683-1. The twist will spiral out from the point of impact as the rebar turns, curved lines of torque visibly extending from the point, with material warping faster closer to the point of impact. This twisting has never been seen to stress the material to the point of breaking, and interior structures (circuits, veins, etc) will continue to function within the limits of their new shape. A liquid mass twisted in this way is twisted as a unit. That is to say, liquid may be poured in or out, but any liquid passing through the point of impact of the mass (the bowl that contained it, the river it flowed through, the area on the floor where the puddle stood) will form the shape of the twist. Visually, this resembles a whirlpool or eddy. Pulling on an embedded 4683 along its axis with a continuous force of 800 Newton’s or more, after the mass has been twisted (at least three full rotations) results in its second anomalous effect. Starting at the edges of the mass, material will be “pulled” inward, towards 4683, as 4683 lengthens continuously out of the mass. The weight of new rebar produced will always equal the weight of lost material. Cutting this into usuable lengths of rebar has proven an inexpensive source of building materials. Pulling on 4646 with a force of exceeding 3000 Newton’s while simultaneously twisting with a torque exceeding 120 (n•m) causes 4683 to pull free with a high pitched pop. All twists and loss of materials are permanent to the embedded mass.
