Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A is to be stored on a small coffee table in front of SCP-XXXX-B while not in use. XXXX-A should have it's 4 (Four) AAA batteries changed on the 21st of each month, and the old batteries incinerated. Only D Class are to handle perform this task to prevent important staff members from pressing the "X" button.
SCP-XXXX-B is to be kept inside a standard humanoid containment cell decorated to simulate a small apartment. Its screen should be covered by a tarp to prevent viewing while not in testing. —While it is safe to view the screen, it is not recommended— Staff are no longer allowed to view the screen of XXXX-B. See incident SCP-XXXX-1. XXXX-B does not need to be plugged into a power outlet and cannot be turned off.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-C will be executed at even the slightest sign of hostilities.
Description: SCP-XXXX-A refers to One (1) game controller paired to SCP-XXXX-B by a currently unknown method. The controller has the standard 2 movement sticks, D-Pad, back paddles, home buttons, and buttons expected of a game controller, however, only the button labeled "X" performs any function.
SCP-XXXX-B refers to One (1) 4K 65" Television. The screen is made by an unknown brand and has no (visible) screws, buttons, or seems. The inner workings of it are unknown. The screen shows several short 7-second panning shots of different locations of the observable universe. Examples include:
- A wide pan of the Canadian Rockies observing a group of skiers. The skiers were located and confirmed to be skiing at the time the pan was "aired".
- Under the surface of Europa █████████ ██ █████
- A long zoom out of the star Betelgeuse
- A zoom-in shot on GN-z11
- What appear to be the pillars of creation, but the size and shape seem to indicate the video is being taken live.
Overlayed on top of these shots is a translucent blue bar at the bottom of the screen that reads: "Spectate: Press (X)". When the "X" button is pressed on XXXX-A while in front of XXXX-B the individual who pressed the "X" button will transform into an instance of SCP-XXXX-C over the course of the next few days. The length of this seems to depend on the subject's ability to learn new things at speed. The worse this ability, the longer the length of the process, sometimes taking up to 20 days. Quicker subjects take closer to 10. During the process, the subject's eyes will turn a milky black and appear to be speckled white, likely to mimic starts (This effect continues after the process). The subject will then begin screaming beyond prior proven abilities or lung capacity. During this phase, SCP-XXXX-A is unable to be removed from the subject's hands.
About 10% of subjects will attempt to commit suicide.
