SCP-4394

SCP-4394 shortly after containment.

Item #: SCP-4394

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: A 5km x 5km area of land around SCP-4394 has been purchased from the █████████ state government by the Foundation on 12/28/2016.
While SCP-4394 does not pose any serious civilian danger, the site is to be monitored consistently. Foundation security is to be stationed at intervals of ██ around the site's perimeter. Additionally, two guards are to be stationed at SCP-4394's entrance at all times. Two final guards are to be stationed at the on-site research station to provide security to personnel conducting research on SCP-4394's anomalous properties.

Description: SCP-4394 resembles a Target brand retail store approximately 3.4m x 3.2m x 4.6m located in the █████████ Desert. The building is crudely built, but features Target logos on each side.

While SCP-4394 appears to be a simple, run-down building, its interior is decorated similarly to a standard Target location. The building does not have any power source, so its lighting is non-functional. The interior also features 3 small shelving units stocked sparsely with merchandise.

While the majority of the merchandise within SCP-4394 was removed prior to its purchase by the Foundation, a total of 276 274 (See Test Logs) various items are currently stored inside SCP-4394. These pieces of merchandise will be referred to as SCP-4394-A.

Instances of SCP-4394-A all appear identical in shape, but each varies in size and color. Each instance resembles a small rod, approximately the same shape as a drinking straw, but varying in lengths. When removed from the interior of SCP-4394, SCP-4394-A begin expanding at an unknown rate by a factor of 0.045 per hour (note: SCP-4394-A's expansion does not follow a pattern until approximately 6 hours, at which point it is correctly proportional to the standard product it resembles), seeming to revert to standard sizes of Target products. However, the process of expanding does not end after reaching the standard size of the product, but instead continuing to expand past this point. The only effective way to neutralize this process is complete destruction of the instance of SCP-4394-A in question (See Incident-4394-01).
