Item #: SCP-4107

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4107 is to be kept in a moderately sized room with what could be described as standard living conditions for a human. The walls of this room must be reinforced by at least 3/4 of a meter of concrete, though amounts beyond a meter are considered excessive. For any personnel to be allowed access to SCP-4107, they must undergo a background check to ensure that they have not committed any major crimes; and/or that their direct actions under the Foundation have not resulted in intentional deaths, pain, suffering, or afflictions otherwise generally perceived as negative. It is advised that site managers containing SCP-4107 find and designate approximately 2~4 individuals with these conditions to handling SCP-4107, as it seems to respond well to familiarity in those it trusts and becomes far more cooperative. Finally, SCP-4107 is to be fed three meals a day and given water like any D-Class would receive. Requests for additional salt are to be approved, as physiological observations report that SCP-4107's artificial blood consumes sodium at an above average rate. Requests for clothing within reason, and other such basic human needs, are to be approved. Following incident 4107-6 and at the request of SCP-4107, there are to be no mirrors in the room and its meals are to be served on non-reflective plastic trays.

Description:
SCP-4107 is a large, humanoid individual standing at a height of approximately 2.1 meters. It is comparable to the appearance of an average middle age caucasian male, though it possess bleached skin and milky black irises. Beyond this, it walks with a limp in its right ankle and has a tendency to revert to moving on four limbs when distressed. SCP-4107 exists in a near-constant state of anxiety, and is incredibly easy to startle. If it happens to overhear itself being referred to as an "it", SCP-4107 will take on a small amount of anger and demand to be called a "he". As it claims that calling it an "it", is too dehumanizing.

Due to circumstantial evidence, several rounds of testing with various personnel and D-Class, and verbal testimonies from SCP-4107 itself, it has been determined that for reasons yet undetermined; SCP-4107 has the capacity to observe the moral and ethical past and present of individuals. In the event that the individual SCP-4107 is observing has a past that could be deemed evil or immoral, SCP-4107 will see the individual as being bound by "chains of darkness". If their past is ambiguous, or largely debatable, they are seen as wearing "ghostly shackles". Finally, individuals who have lead a largely pure, or morally upstanding life are described simply as "shining" or "glowing".

SCP-4107, when presented with anyone it observes being bound by these "chains of darkness", will enter a state of hysteria and distress, doing all it can to get as far from the individual as possible. Phrases such as "Leave me be", "I thought you were finished, you said you were finished", and "Why do you have to be curious?" are frequently muttered by SCP-4107 while in this state as well. During this state it has shown inhuman strength and durability, smashing through drywall and wood, while cracking concrete. Though it has never broken through concrete with a thickness of half a meter or more, it has been shown to severely damage anything less than this.

When presented with individuals it observes as wearing "ghostly shackles", SCP-4107 will appear visibly uncomfortable, and has shown reactions such as sadness, pity, mild fear, and anxiety. It will avoid conversing with such individuals, but can be coerced into doing so.

Finally, when presented with individuals that it observes as "shining" or "glowing", SCP-4017 will become incredibly relaxed, will smile, and often attempt to hug, or become physically closer to the individual in question in an almost childlike manner. This has never resulted in the harm of any individual, and as far as has been documented, it seems its motivations in such a scenario are pure. This is the only situation in which SCP-4107 seems to demonstrate anything other than its normal state of anxiety and fear.

Physical observation has revealed it to be the subject of extensive surgical modification, as its outer body is covered in no less than 30 surgical scars, each varying in size and location. Any attempts at questioning SCP-4107 about the nature of these scars results in it entering an extremely distressed state, likely some form of PTSD. While in this state, it will actively refuse to comply with any requests, and if questioned will simply reply that it "Knows, but does not know."

Following a request by Dr. █████████, SCP-4107 was forcibly subject to sedation for the purpose of observing the causes and effects behind these surgical scars. All attempts to completely sedate SCP-4107 failed, as it could only be reduced to a state similar to human intoxication, forcing the doctor to proceed with the operation while SCP-4107 was still awake. During the operation, SCP-4107 made constant whimpering noises, but never made any physical objections. After this operation, SCP-4107 henceforth refused to interact with any Foundation personnel it did not see as "glowing" or "shining", indicating an developed distrust in the Foundation.

While Dr. █████████ later expressed remorse for performing the operation due to the suffering expressed by SCP-4107, a great deal was revealed about the physiology of SCP-4107. To begin with, SCP-4107 does not possess standard human blood, nor veins. Instead, tubes fabricated from an unknown substance run through its body in the place of veins, and a crystalline liquid of equally unknown subtable flows through them. Minute samples were taken of both of these, and when a group of researchers attempted to observe them at an atomic level, they were unable to explain what they saw. They were later submitted for psychological evaluation, but Foundation psychologists cleared them as mentally sound; indicating that while the substances within SCP-4107 are beyond human comprehension, they are not cognito hazards. It is also important to note that SCP-4107's bloodlike crystalline substance contained traces of an amnestic vastly different than what the foundation employs, likely implying that there was an attempt to erase SCP-4107's memory, though it failed to do so completely.

This however, is the lesser of SCP-4107's unique physiological properties. Various samples of flesh and organ tissues revealed that SCP-4107 is a composite of over 37,000,000,000,000 different individuals. Each and every cell tested was encoded with a different individual's DNA, and some cells being greatly inhuman in nature. Despite this, each cell manages to perform as it should in a functioning body, and there have been no documented cases of them clashing in laboratory conditions. How exactly these normally incompatible cells manage to function is unknown, but it is theorized that it has something to do with the strange crystalline blood that runs through SCP-4107's artificial veins.

Recovery Log:
SCP-4107 was recovered in Saul's Valley Oklahoma, a rural community with a relatively small population. Eyewitness accounts reported SCP-4107 simply "appearing" within a church during a Baptist church service. Allegedly it immediately began screaming about being surrounded by "chains of darkness", scurried backwards into a corner, and curled into the fetal position whilst grabbing its head.

Following the initial shock of SCP-4107's appearance, several members of the congregation moved towards it, allegedly out of compassion. According to someone who was nearby those who approached, but did not approach themselves, SCP-4107 did not react to any attempts at communication (a few eyewitnesses reported it being particularly fearful of the pastor of the church, while others deny this statement.) until one of the congregation members mentioned calling a doctor. Seemingly in reaction to this, SCP-4107 then grew drastically more fearful, and began clawing at the wall behind it. It quickly tore through both drywall and wooden beams, taking refuge in a storage closet within the room it entered. At this point, the congregation halted all attempts at interaction with SCP-4107, and calls to emergency services were made.

Following the sudden appearance of SCP-4107, a prototype device created by Researcher █████ as part of Project ███████████ alerted Foundation personnel to its arrival in the general area. This in combination with the uptick in emergency service calls allowed the Foundation to accurately pinpoint the location of SCP-4107's arrival, and a retrieval team was dispatched. The retrieval team reported no difficulties in subduing SCP-4107, but noted that their anesthetics did not incapacitate the subject, but rather reduce it to a state comparable to a heavily intoxicated adult human. Following recovery and on-site interviews, the congregation was administered Class-A amnestics, and local emergency services were informed that any calls they had received were simply a hoax run by a group of teens traveling through town.

When first detained and placed within a bare concrete room, SCP-4107 became visibly distressed as the anesthetics wore off, pacing around the room and demanding something "more humane". When requests were denied, it entered the fetal position in a corner of the room and refused to respond. Following 24 hours of this behavior, with occasional repeats of this request, SCP-4107 was once more placed under anesthetics and escorted to a new room. This new room was designed to somewhat resemble a modern hotel room, but was still floored and walled in concrete. While SCP-4107 stated that it "was not pleased" with this, it was "better than before". After this, SCP-4107 requested to be let go, a request that was denied. Eventually, it requested someone to talk to, and a D-Class personnel was chosen to speak with SCP-4107. An addendum containing a written transcript of their interaction, as well as several addendums for later interactions with SCP-4107, are all included in this report.

Addendum 4107-1

Following SCP-4107's request for someone to talk to in person, D-Class █████ was chosen to enter SCP-4107's containment cell and converse with it.
<Begin Log>

The D-Class entered the room and waved at SCP-4107 before greeting it. "Hello? They told me you asked to talk to someone."

SCP-4107 did not react for several seconds upon viewing D-Class █████, but its face then became fearful, and SCP-4107 retreated into a corner of the room. "NO! NO! WHY? I CAN HEAR THEM, THOSE CHAINS, LEAVE ME BE. YOU SAID I WOULD BE FREE, WHY AM I STILL HAUNTED?"

Appearing confused, the D-Class began to back away, but was ordered by Foundation personnel to approach SCP-4107 and continue engagement. "Chains? They took me out of prison, I'm free now."

SCP-4107 did not offer a reply contextual to the D-Class's statement, and instead began pounding at the wall it had retreated into in an attempt to flee the D-Class's presence. "LIES, LIES, LIES. I CAN HEAR THE CHAINS, I CAN SEE THEM, BINDING YOUR BODY, YOUR MIND, YOUR SOUL. LET HIM GO, LET ME GO. LEAVE ME BE!"
<End Log>

Closing Statement: SCP-4107 reacted poorly to the presence of D-Class █████, and nearly broke containment. Following this, SCP-4107 was sedated and moved to a containment cell with thicker walls, which it has yet to compromise. Once it awakened, it accused Foundation Personnel of seeking to torture it. It also repeated its request for someone to talk to, but specified that it did not wish to be sent anyone "bound by those accursed, clinking chains".

Addendum 4107-2

A similar incident to the prior occurred when another D-Class personnel was sent into visit SCP-4107. SCP-4107 reacted with fear and once more attempted to escape containment, but failed due to being contained behind thicker walls. Yet again it accused Foundation Personnel of seeking to torture it, and demanded to be sent anyone who wasn't shackled with "chains of darkness".

Addendum 4107-3

While investigating the report on SCP-4107's detainment for possible clues to SCP-4107's nature, a Foundation researcher observed that SCP-4107's aversion to the pastor of the church it had appeared in was particularly noted. Doing research on this pastor led the researcher to discover that said Pastor was later convicted of crimes involving child pornography and predatory behavior. Intrigued, the researcher looked into the pasts of both D-Class which had been sent into converse with SCP-4107. Data obtained by the researcher indicated that the first D-Class was a serial automobile thief, with several deaths being linked to them from high speed crashes. Data obtained on the second D-Class showed them to be convicted of murder, but with no record of misconduct while operating under the Foundation. Following these discoveries, the researcher in question requested that a falsely convicted D-Class be found and used as the next individual sent to interact. This request was approved, and D-Class individual ████████ was chosen to be the next individual to be sent to speak to 4107-5.

Addendum 4107-4

Following Addendum 4107-3, D-Class individual ████████ was sent into SCP-4107's containment cell, prior to entry it was hypothesized that their innocence may have an effect on SCP-4107's reaction.

<Begin Log>

The D-Class entered SCP-4107's containment cell, attempting to put on a friendly demeanor as they greeted SCP-4107.

In response, SCP-4107 squinted at the D-Class for several seconds, with a facial expression resembling confusion before it spoke. "You… you aren't wearing chains of darkness, but you're still shackled. Something is still on you, but, no. It's not like that. Are… Are you okay?" At this point, SCP-4107 seemed to express concern for the D-Class, and slowly approached them. "I've never seen this before… thank you for coming to talk to me. It's very lonely he
