Item #: SCP-4353
Object Class: Euclid
Special containment procedures:
Due to its anomalous properties - SCP-4353 is NOT to be moved from the field of which it resides. Therefore, Area-4353A has been built around the area in question and personnel within the site are to respect the 10m fenced off barrier that separates said field from the facility. MTF Epsilon-6 "Village Idiots" are to guard the priority area every hour of the day, with shift changes every couple of hours. Epsilon-6 are to also scour the region daily for any other instances of SCP-4353 within the area, and MTF Theta-4 "Gardeners" are to hold the responsibility of recovering any casualties from the field and maintaining the field's boundaries when SCP-4353 lies dormant.
At certain hours of the day, for each day of the week SCP-4353 is to be monitored closely for any anomalous happenings, or breaching of its containment area's fence (See Description). Should the breach of its boundary occur, personnel are to swiftly evacuate the site and retreat to a safe area, referred to as 'the green quadrant', roughly 50 meters away from the site, and MTF Theta-4 are to be dispatched to the site immediately. It must also be understood that should SCP-4353's field run out of space (see Addendum 4353-02), the area is to be sealed off promptly before SCP-4353 becomes active, so the boundary may be expanded during the hours that SCP-4353 is dormant, to ensure that a full breach does not occur.
Description:
SCP-4353 is understood to be a large, bipedal entity - standing roughly 2 metres and 55 centimetres in height, though this is a temporary height, and comprised of what appears to be a strange mixture of orange corn and and a yellowish, starchy substance - kinds of which have never been seen before, and it is still inconclusive as to what SCP-4353's composition is, though tests are ongoing to determine it. SCP-4353 does have an anatomical structure - including a body, limbs and a long appendage protruding from its body believed to be its head, which appears to be completely comprised of the corn-like material. SCP-4353 never leaves its cornfield of which it first appeared, and has stayed within it since its first discovery by members of the public. If left alone, the creature seems completely docile and will never actively attempt to attack personnel unprovoked.4353 spends certain hours of the day completely dormant, hidden in the tall grass and will only awaken at certain hours of the day to follow a routine and wander the cornfield - every day. Below is a list compiling the daily 'schedule' for SCP-4353.
- Monday - 2:00am - 3:00am: SCP-4353 awakens and immediately begins movement around the cornfield - seemingly tending to it. SCP-4353 does not possess any ingredients such as fertiliser or seeds, however upon examination of this field traces of both have been discovered. SCP-4353 will travel across the entire cornfield, covering every blade of grass until 3am - when it returns to a dormant state.
- Tuesday - 4:00am - 5:15am: SCP-4353 awakens from its dormant state and immediately begins its walk around the cornfield. However, this time sprouts have begun to grow from the soil, and immediately begin germination. It remains inconclusive as to what these sprouts are.
- Wednesday - 5:30am - 6:45am: SCP-4353 continues its regular procedure of moving about the field. Within the time between Tuesday and Wednesday the sprouts have become large buds, each bearing a large, corn-shaped orange item, though indeterminate what it is.
- Thursday - 6:55am - 7:05am: As SCP-4353 awakens to undergo its process, the buds are now fully formed items, exactly similar to that of a corn - though when optimal grow an orange-red tinge as opposed to the regular yellow of corn. SCP-4353 continues to wander the field, and where it walks, new sprouts begin to grow.
- Friday - 7:25am - 8:00am: SCP-4353 comes out of its dormant state, by which time each of the newly grown buds have become fully-formed 'corns'. SCP-4353 traverses the entire field, plucking each corn out of the ground with its appendages. The corns then seem to disappear, hypothesised to have sunken into the skin of SCP-4353. The field has grown exponentially since the beginning of the recorded process, and SCP-4353 has grown an extra 20 centimetres since the start of the week.
- Saturday - Remains dormant all day - no further changes
- Sunday: - Remains dormant all day - no further changes
It is understood that SCP-4353 possesses the capabilities of growing these corn-like objects by simply walking across the soil of the cornfield, as well as expanding the field in the process. SCP-4353 will move a lot quicker as the field grows, perhaps to complete the entire field before its 'scheduled' time. SCP-4353's secondary anomalous traits occur when any personnel who attempts to interact with either SCP-4353 or the cornfield itself while SCP-4353 is active. Should this occur, SCP-4353 will become extremely hostile and halt his procedure to turn towards the victim, at which point the victim will begin feeling serious burning sensations in the stomach and the chest. The orange, corn-like objects will then grow out of the body over a period of 2 hours, as well as any human orifice, although it does not damage the body in any way,it simply leaves those affected incapacitated on the ground, implying that SCP-4353 does not intend to kill any trespassers, just prevent them from interfering with its procedure and its crops, analysis on those recovered from the field have shown these objects cannot be pulled from the body once they have fully germinated after 2 hours.
It is also understood that SCP-4353 will breach its fenced area if the field runs out of available space to grow these 'crops' - as it seems unaware of the field's boundaries, although it is understood that once the fencing is breached though, the field does not continue indefinitely, with the field only carrying on for an extra 40 meters from its original point after the fence was broken.
Addendum 4353-01: Discovery
The cornfield of which SCP-4353 is located is in, █████, Nebraska, and SCP-4353 was discovered on the 15/4/20██. A pair of backpackers noticed the large figure going about its regular routine when they decided to approach to inspect on what it was. Both backpackers set foot on the cornfield and immediately SCP-4353 paused his movements, before turning to face them. The backpackers were quickly exposed to SCP-4353's anomalous effects, with corn-like objects growing out of their bodies after approximately 15 seconds upon entering the field. The pair were both recovered from the site though remain comatose. The size of the field at this time was approximately 1.2 square meters and SCP-4353 itself stood at a height of approximately 2 meters and 30 centimeters.
Addendum 4353-02:
Approximately 4 weeks after Area-4353A was constructed the cornfield spanned roughy 3 square meters, and had reached its boundary. The following day SCP-4353 made its way across the last remaining soil, and the grass that sprouted broke through the fence. Mobile Task Force Theta-4 immediately dispatched to temporarily seal off the area during SCP-4353's dormancy period before SCP-4353 walked across it and more grass appeared, so a new fencing boundary could be constructed around 80 metres from where it was destroyed. SCP-4353 has grown by roughly 25cm since first being contained.

Item #: SCP-4155
Object class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
Any individuals over the age of 18 who live in or near the vicinity of SCP-4155 are to be swiftly evacuated from the area, and are to have their homes quarantined for fear of dissemination, followed by administration of Class-B amnestics. Any individuals who have been exposed to the effects of SCP-4155 but have not been brought completely under its influence are to be detained, administered Class-B amnestics, and debriefed. Any areas where SCP-4155 is discovered and at its strongest are to be cordoned off and both foundation personnel and civilians are to respect a 40m barrier from the instance of SCP-4155. Any and all instances of SCP-4155-2 that are no longer under the influence of SCP-4155 are to be detained and amnesticized for further questioning and study, instances of SCP-4155-2 are not to be terminated whatsoever. Mobile Task Force Eta-10 "See no Evil" are to carry out the task of safely detaining any individuals afflicted by the cognitohazardous effects of SCP-4155-3
Description:
SCP-4155 refers to several anomalous phenomena that are located in specific regions of 5 European cities (See Addendum 4155-1A for details). The origin of SCP-4155 is unknown and it is unclear whether other instances of SCP-4155 exist or simply have not yet appeared. SCP-4155's main anomalous traits become active when an individual, over the age of 18 and lives within the vicinity of an instance of SCP-4155, comes within 1.5 meters of the anomaly. The subject will immediately complain of feeling dazed and that 'time is standing still'. After roughly 20-25 mintues of exposure, SCP-4155-1, which refers to several parasitic worms, similar to that of Cestoda, the tapeworm, will begin to infest the host's body and wrap themselves around the subject's entire cerebrum, completely incapacitating the subject and gaining control of the host entirely, and subject becomes an instance of SCP-4155-2. It is understood that the victim does not feel this process occurring. Further study has conducted that any attempt by SCP-4155-2 to make contact with an individual, will also cause said individual to be infested with SCP-4155-1 and incapacitated.
Approximately 2 days after being under the control of SCP-4155-1, subjects will begin to fantasize about 'finding it', though it is inconclusive as to what 'it' is precisely. Subjects will abandon their usual daily routines, choosing instead to stay by themselves, cutting contact with any outside individuals, such as family or friends, seeing 'it' as their only form of sustenance. Subjects in this phase often appear normal, showing no discernible ailments or signs that they are under control.
Approximately 5 days after SCP-4155-1 began its control of SCP-4155-2, SCP-4155-2 will leave its home and begin to travel towards a certain location named SCP-4155-3, now discovered to be a forest in █████, Slovakia. Instances of SCP-4155-2 will move towards this destination either by walking, or travelling via vehicle, and will never group up with each other, instances of SCP=4155-2 will always attempt to blend in with the surrounding area. It seems as though instances of SCP-4155-1 show much intelligence and have full knowledge of this destination, arriving at SCP-4155-3 with little to no trouble, almost as if being drawn towards it. In every case, multiple instances of SCP-4155-2 are seen travelling to SCP-4155-3(See attached Document 4155-1C) and they are extremely hostile to humans and will attack any individuals that obstruct their route to their destination. Attempts to try to slow down or block SCP-4155-2 movements via road blocks or blocking off pathways have failed, and resulted in severe injury to personnel.
Upon arriving at said destination, a faint humming noise can be heard, and it is reported that strange yellow glow can be seen emanating from the forest. This glow seems to bear cognitohazardous effects to any individual unaffected by SCP-4155-1 who views it, causing severe burning sensations in the head, uncontrollable crying and eventually completely disorientating the individual, making them forget where they are.
After approximately 30 minutes of faint humming, the light begins to fade and many instances of SCP-4155-2 disappear, and it is unclear where they disappear to. At this point any instances of SCP-4510-2 that did not reach SCP-4155-3 will have the anomalous effects on them ended, SCP-4155-1 exit their body and swiftly die, and the subject will be brought back to their senses.
Addendum 4155-1A:
Below is a list of locations where instances of SCP-4155 has been discovered, and in total how many within that city have been affected by SCP-4155's anomalous effects.
- Leipzig,Germany - roughly 1,200 affected
- Poznan, Poland - roughly 1,400 affected
- Linz, Austria - roughly 800 affected
- Eger, Hungary - roughly 1,100 affected
- Ostrava, Czech Republic - roughly 500 affected
overall, the majority of SCP-4155-2 completely under the influence of SCP-4155 and completely incapacitated by SCP-4155-1 have been reported as missing since [DATA EXPUNGED] on average. In Linz, Austria, out of the 800 affected only 250 did not show symptoms of being fully under SCP-4155's influence and were quickly administered Class-A Amnestics , as well as a select few being detained for questioning. In Eger, Hungary, out of the 1,100 affected approximately 800 showed symptoms of exposure however did not become instances of SCP-4155-2, they were also administered Class-A Amnestics and a select few were detained and brought in for questioning.
Document 4155-1C: Transcript from Agent █████, assigned to SCP-4155-3 to give feedback on developments of SCP-4155-2's movements
This is crazy, there are so many of them. They are like lifeless husks. To think that before this mess they were all people is crazy. There's got to be thousands of them here slowly moving somewhere, but it's unclear where they are moving.
There is a distinctly yellow light emanating from somewhere in the forest;cannot tell where, as well as a faint humming noise that seems rather distant, I could try to get closer but I don't want to risk getting seen by one of these things.
28 minutes pass before Agent █████ reports that the humming stops, then instances of SCP-4155-2 cease movements
They've stopped, all of them!
The ones that got into the forest have disappeared, and now there are thousands of people just slumped on the ground outside the forest. I think some of them are coming to their senses, they are getting up, they don't seem to be under the influence of anything anymore.
None of them look hollow or sunken or anything, This doesn't make any sense!
Item #: SCP-4887
Object class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
Any and all structures assembled by SCP-4887 discovered are to be immediately contained and secured in a standard containment locker in Site-64. Incidents of personnel falling ill as a result of SCP-4887's constructions are to be immediately quarantined for medical care, and are to remain within said quarantine for approximately 1-2 weeks, followed by administration of Class-B Amnestics to ensure that absolutely no contamination is possible. SCP-4887-1 is to be cordoned off for approximately 25 meters from the front entrance and any shifts or changes within SCP-4887-1 are to be documented and sent to Head Researcher Windsor immediately. Should any individual attempt to approach and interact with SCP-4887-1, Mobile Task Force Psi-7 "Home Improvement" are to be dispatched to the site with immediate effect. Only unmanned drones are to be admitted access into SCP-4887-1 at any given time and are to only stay within SCP-4887-1 for a maximum of 3 hours. Any personnel who discover/witness an SCP-4887 materialization are to pass this information on immediately and are warned not to interact with SCP-4887 in any way until dematerialization occurs.
Description: SCP-4887 is a bipedal entity of average human male height, but is assembled completely out of a brass-like metal, understood to be a metallic replica of a mechanic/steampunk enthusiast who lived in the late 19th century. The entity sports Victorian-era style attire, with a large, black top hat, a long, dark cape and what appears to be a fully mechanized monocle, understood to have been configured by the subject itself, as well as being able to speak any known language fluently. SCP-4887's behaviour is not violent or aggressive, and often tends to be rather cooperative and happy with those it comes into contact with, often wanting to share its fondness with mechanics and its experiences in building.
The main anomalous trait of SCP-4887 is its astounding ability to craft incredible and complex structures, most commonly out of pure brass and copper at an incredible speed, approximately 5 to 15 minutes on average based on recordings. SCP-4887 can build using any scrap it finds, and never appears to run out of resources of which to craft. The subject will only build 5 structures during any materialization, before swiftly materializing elswehere in the world, there is no pattern to SCP-4887's materialization;it seems it simply re-appears anywhere. Over a period of 2-4 hours after SCP-4887 dematerialized, a strange and pungent odor is released from SCP-4887's crafts, and those exposed to said odor have complained of splitting headaches, feeling light headed and nauseous - in many cases vomiting. This release of odor occurs in tandem with a peculiar rusting process of the structures, strange simply because neither Brass nor Copper can undergo any form of oxidization. Roughly 4 hours after this rusting process begins, the structure appears to become sentient - and any personnel who attempt to make contact with the structure will be met with fierce hostility - often causing gashes or deep cuts into the victim's arm, causing heavy bleeding. It is understood that SCP-4887 does not mean to cause harm to people with its creations, it is simply a part of its anomalous effect that it cannot control (See Addendum 4887-C)
SCP-4887-1 refers to a large two-story mansion located in ████, Ontario. The building is understood to have been constructed by SCP-4887 in 18██ and has not been entered by any human since its creation. The building is made completely of brass and has regular features of a house such as windows, and a front entrance, and bears these features on each of its sides. At the front of the construction protrude 2 large brass pillars on either side, with an intricately-designed archway over the main doorway entrance, with a large peregrine-like creature sitting atop said archway. Visible markings can be seen etched into the walls of the building, saying things such as 'What a Marvellous creation!' and 'Lo and Behold, finally some stunning architecture has arrived in this land!'. A glass strip runs around the top of the building, and within it various cogs can be seen turning, this clockwork has never once stopped since the building was first crafted. At random points during the day, this construction will completely turn either North, South, East or West - of its own accord. A correlation has been discovered between the direction of which the building turns to face, and the region of the world where SCP-4887 has materialised - indicating this building, much like SCP-4887's smaller creations has some form of sentience and is always aware of SCP-4887's current location. However, it is understood that any individual who makes contact with the building in any way will simply vanish from sight. Instances of these occurrence have not led to any successful discovery of any individual who has vanished, and it is unclear whether or not any personnel who disappear will re-appear at SCP-4887's current location.
Addendum 4887-A: Below are recorded incidents from SCP-4887's first recorded encounters with civilians
Incident log 4887-01: SCP-4887 was first recorded by the foundation being discovered on 25/7/19██ in Kiev, Ukraine. The subject approached a random civilian, a male aged 27 and asked if he enjoyed architecture and mechanics, to which the subject replied no. SCP-4887 proceeded to build a large, cube-like structure with long, intertwining copper strips running along the exterior of the model in approximately 8 minutes. The civilian gasped in amazement and asked the subject if he could take the model home, to which SCP-4887 obliged, before dematerializing. Roughly 3 hours later, the civilian reported feeling nauseous and light-headed, and when he attempted to reach for the sculpture it left a long gash running down his arm. The individual was swiftly hospitalized and the now rusted creation was swiftly disposed of. At this time it is understood SCP-4887-1 was facing in an Eastern direction at this time.
Incident log 4887-02: SCP-4887 was again discovered on 12/8/19██, this time in Vitebsk, Belarus. It approached a young man, roughly 19 and inquired about his interest in Mechanics and Crafts, to which the subject replied 'Sort of'. SCP-4887 proceeded to build a dodecahedron-shaped object comprised of copper cogs, which all turned inside the shape in approximately 11 minutes . Subject was amazed by this creation and branded it a 'fantastic piece of engineering, and also requested to take it home, to which SCP-4887 permitted, before then dematerializing. Again, roughly 4 hours later, subject reported to have fallen ill and been 'attacked' by the construction, which had left a large gash on the subject's face. Subject was rushed to hospital and the structure, announced to have been 'fully rusted' was disposed of. Much like in the first log, SCP-4887-1 was facing in an Eastern direction at this time.
Incident log 4887-03: This time, SCP-4887 was spotted in Seoul, South Korea on 5/9/19██ . He approached an young woman aged roughly 20 and asked about her fondness of architecture and clockwork. She replied that she found it very interesting indeed, and SCP-4887's face appeared to light up with joy upon hearing this. It then proceeded to construct a large portrait of brass cogs turning on a matte black surface within a glass frame. The frame had a golden border running each side of the portrait and a small ornate bird sat atop the creation. This piece was constructed in 13.5 minutes. The girl expressed amazement and wanted to keep the structure, and SCP-4887 allowed this before it dematerialized. 3 hours after taking the creation. The girl fell unconscious in her home for about 45 minutes before being discovered. The girl had deep cuts running her face and was pale and cold to the touch. She was rushed to hospital where she recovered, and the rusted statue was safely removed. SCP-4887-1 was facing in a western direction at this time.
Additional note: It seems as though whenever someone answers SCP-4887's question, it will get to work building, and the building will get more and more complex if the more positive the answer. Each of the affected seem to grab the model to see why it has rusted, at which point they are attacked. I don't think that SCP-4887 wants to do this, it exhibits no malicious behavior at all, must be something to do with the nature of the things it produces.
It must also be understood each individual affected by SCP-4887's constructions was swiftly administered Class-B Amnestics once fully recovered, before being returned to their homes - Dr.████
Addendum 4887-B: The following is a log detailing an unmanned drone excursion into SCP-4887-1, written by Head Researcher Windsor
<Begin log>
Upon entry into the property, the camera feed shows only a long, stretching hallway at first. This hallway feels like it is getting more and more narrow the further the drone continues. Doors line the walls on either side of the corridor, each one appearing to be made out of copper, and had numbers etched into the sides corresponding with how far along down the corridor they were, stretching as far as 256 on each side.
Eventually the drone came to the end of the corridor and entered a large plaza-looking area, the floor was metallic and tiled, and visible clockwork could be seen running on the roof - behind a glass frame. An intricately decorated, gold stairwell twisted its way upwards, and when the drone traversed the stairwell, began to bear a bright glow - which brightened the further the drone escalated. At one point it became so bright that the camera feed simply showed a golden glow, and nothing more.
Once at the top of the stairwell, the drone approached a long, flat tiled floor, lined with pillars bearing several structures similar to the ones SCP-4887 had created, although much larger - this time the tiles on the floor appeared ceramic, however emitted a strange white glow from them when the drone moved across them. At the far end the drone encountered 3 doors, and the camera showed these doors as having a distinctively reddish hue to them. The doors had gold plaques embedded within them - each plaque reading as follows: Door 1 - Room of mistakes, Door 2- Room of monstrosities, Door 3 - Room of world-plaguing horrors. It is believed that these rooms contain structures created by SCP-4887 it swiftly disposed of, after the effects it caused on individuals exposed to them.
The drone moved down into a basement like area. The area was pitch-black until utilization of the drone's night vision, and eventually the drone entered a strange compartment area. The compartment was stocked with materials. Upon extraction these materials were discovered to be raw copper and brass, SCP-4887's main building materials as well as Iron, Steel, Aluminium, Tin, Gold, Silver, Zinc and Magnesium. The room had several closets containing images of ████ █████, an old steampunk enthusiast who lived in the late 19th century. Next to his posters were dusty, old blueprints of SCP-4887, as well as a few ornate antiques such as a gold chalice, a small monocle that appeared to be mechanized, albeit having a cracked lens, and a miniature sculpture - hypothesized to be a draft of SCP-4887. Underneath the collection of antiques lay a small, vintage cassette tape. The tape had the words ' my apology' scribbled on the front, and was caked in dust upon discovery. The tape was extracted from underneath the pile of and brought out for further investigation.
That's all the interesting things we could either recover or discover from SCP-4887-1, no further drone excursions are to commence unless other developments occur.
<End log>
Addendum 4887-C: The following is a log recorded on a cassette tape that was successfully recovered from the drone excursion into SCP-4887-1. A metallic, robotic like voice is heard, understood to be SCP-4887 itself
A marvelous creation they call it, the pinnacle of architectural design some say. But that is all they say! They don't get the chance to say anymore, because just like that they are ailed by my monstrosities!
I don't understand, all I want to do is share my joy of crafting and mechanics with the world yet all I seem to bring is sadness! An object can be heard shattering on a floor. Why is it like this, please I beg to know, I want to know why I was designed with this…Cancer, such an unwanted yet irremovable trait that brings ailments and fear instead of joy and amazement!
This home I have built, a mark I wanted to make on this world, is the only mark I have made that isn't a stain! It is aware of me as I am of it, and we are in tandem always.
The one who created me, my assembler did not want me to be this way, so WHY AM I??!! My structures are a hazard, a HAZARD to the people of this world, when I intended for them to be art, it just isn't fair!
What is the point of creating this pieces if all they are going to do is put people in danger. I must lock myself away, deep within the chasms of this building I have created, my only creation which will not bring unprovoked harm to these people. But I can't! My passion of crafting and clockwork will only lead me elsewhere, to continue this torturous cycle and to put others in danger, it never ends and never will!
My mansion, my grandest creation, my only creation that can bring happiness to people, they label it 'A marvel of engineering', 'incredible architecture' - for such an avid building and mechanical enthusiast such as myself I should have more than this, I want more than this. But when I try to get more, I only wreak havoc.
I must build grander, larger, better. I must create more mansions, more buildings! More, more, more!!
Addendum 4887-D: Approximately 3 weeks after log 4887-RL1 was recovered. A newly-constructed site was discovered in ████, Montana on 27/4/20██. The construct appeared to be a large brass obelisk, with large gold strips twisting around the structure. Around the obelisk was a large platform comprised of what seemed to be stone, and an engraving which read 'Larger, and better'. The obelisk seemed to release a form of brown-colored gas, and subjects near the obelisk when this gas was secreted reported strong feelings of burning and crippling headaches, and the area was swiftly cordoned off from the public, pending a decision to be demolished. The site was soon discovered to be a creation of SCP-4887.
4 weeks after this discovery, a second construction was discovered in ████, Oklahoma on 7/5/20██. This structure was a large cube outlined with long brass strips with intricate, ornate designs made out of gold within it. Brown liquid was seen dripping from the construct and when it came into contact with civilians caused severe rashes and causing the affected to collapse. This site was also found to be a creation of SCP-4887, and was swiftly demolished by local law enforcement. Individuals affected were all hospitalised and administered Class-B amnestics upon recovery
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: No essential containment procedures are necessary for SCP-XXXX, bar when charging is required. Because of this SCP-XXXX is to have a standard containment cell in the low-risk containment area Site-17. This cell is to be fitted with a 175,000 mAH power bank, which is to be checked and maintained regularly for any possible faults or malfunctions. SCP-XXXX is to remain at the charging point for approximately 3 hours, and no longer to prevent any cases of overheating. Charging of SCP-XXXX is imperative and must occur immediately after SCP-XXXX exhibits signs of fatigue or weariness, When SCP-XXXX does not require charging, it is to be allowed free access to roam the facility, and can return to its holding cell whenever it wishes.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a diminutive robotic entity, approximately 1.4 meters in height and assembled entirely out of what appears to be scrap metal and computer cables. The entity seems sentient, and appears to have a human-like organ system, with a heart, brain and lungs assembled out of wires noticeably visible. SCP-XXXX also has electrical impulses running through said 'brain' as well as the rest of the cables in SCP-XXXX's body, presumably allowing movement and the capacity to think and to understand surroundings. Due to SCP-XXXX's capability of movement, is allowed to do so around the facility. The entity always conveys a happy and enthusiastic behavior, seemingly not phased by its surroundings and extremely cooperative with foundation personnel. The origin and creator of SCP-XXXX remains unknown, and the parts of which SCP-XXXX is assembled do not seem to bear any kind of branding. The 'head' of SCP-XXXX appears to be a vintage, 1980s █████ brand television. The television bears two antenna and the screen shows what appears to be a pixelated smiley face, the expression of which has yet to change since SCP-XXXX arrived in foundation custody, as well as the face being the only recorded screen of SCP-XXXX's 'face' recorded since first arrival.
Embedded within the chest of SCP-XXXX is what appears to be a vintage cassette player, capable of activating of its own accord. The cassette player appears to be heavily damaged, with several dents and chips visible within it, however functions perfectly. At random intervals during a day, this cassette player will begin to emit a signal of some sort. This signal when studied by foundation operatives came out as nothing more than radio static, and showed no visible differences when the sound was run through a Spectrogram. This led to the early conclusion that this transmission was nothing more than a byproduct of the cassette player, possible due to the damage inflicted upon it.
However, upon further study it was discovered that this static noise could only be detected if said individuals were of a stable mental state. For any decipherable noise of any kind be detected by an individual, they had to meet the following criteria:
- Suffer from a mental illness of any kind
- For that illness to be impacting heavily on the individual's life, severely deteriorating the individual's mental state
- Suffer from feelings of isolation or loneliness
- Have close family ties
If said criteria is met, these individuals will hear a soft, comforting voice from the transmission. Individuals capable of hearing the transmission have stated that the transmission was speaking to them directly, in the voice of a close family member whom they have/had a special connection with, either dead or alive. The transmission seems to comfort these individuals, fulfilling them with a sense of hope and salvation and giving them the courage to fight their ailments. Over a period of 2 days, subjects exposed to this transmission will see their mental health rapidly improve, they will begin to feel much better, and have stated that they 'feel that someone is there for them, protecting them and ensuring that they will be OK'. Over a period of 2 weeks, while some signs of mental illness remain present, subjects are left in a much better state than prior to hearing the transmission.
It is understood that the transmission released by SCP-XXXX does seem to have a limited range, with subjects needing to be roughly 350-400 meters from SCP-XXXX's location for the anomalous effects to have optimal effect. After roughly 8 hours of activity, SCP-XXXX will begin to act in a disorientated or drowsy manner, stumbling around the facility block. The image displayed on SCP-XXXX's screen will begin to slowly fade and SCP-XXXX's head will begin to slowly droop. It is a this point that SCP-XXXX should be escorted to its containment chamber for recharging using the cell's fitted power bank for approximately 3 hours. Prolonged exposure to the power bank will cause SCP-XXXX's internal wiring to glow red and overheat, severely damaging SCP-XXXX's capability of move freely around the facility. Despite SCP-XXXX's ability to reboot and restart after an occurrence of powering down of its own accord, it is understood that the field of effect of SCP-XXXX's transmission at this time is severely lessened (See Test logs A4-A6 for further details).
Addendum XXXX-A:
SCP-XXXX was discovered on 25/7/20██ in a small warehouse in ████, New York. The figure when recovered by foundation operatives had dents across the arms, and a couple of the wires connecting the vintage television to the main body were partially severed. Foundation operatives were called to the site after reports of strange static transmissions picked up by radio receivers across America. When foundation personnel arrived at the site, a man, roughly in his forties dressed in a blue waistcoat rushed out and affectionately grabbed one of the operatives, Agent Smith. The subject explained that over a period of the last couple of years, his life had been 'hell'. His wife had left him and taken the majority of everything he possessed, he was barred from seeing his own children, and had turned to alcohol, often consuming dangerous quantities every night. The individual exclaimed he had contemplated suicide on a couple of occasions, and explained how he had ' never felt so alone in all my life'.
The subject then went on to explain how a small robot delivered to the warehouse started emitting signals. Subject heard these signals as his mother, who had died some time ago. The voice spoke comfortingly, assuring the subject that 'everything is going to be OK' and 'I want you to fight this', 'for me'. After a period of 2 days, subjects mental health was on the rise at a rapid rate. Below is an interview log between Dr. Daniels and subject, who will be referred to as 'Subject XXXX-01'
Interviewed: Subject XXXX-01
Interviewer: Dr Daniels
Foreword: Subject XXXX-01 undergoing debriefing by Dr. Daniels following discovery and retrieval of both SCP-XXXX and Subject XXXX-01 from the warehouse
<Begin log, 25/7/20██, 7:20pm EST>:
Dr. Daniels: So, subject XXXX-01, I'm going to ask you a few questions based on your rapid improvements in mental health.
Subject XXXX-01: Absolutely sir, I'm more than willing to share this… well, miracle!
Dr. Daniels: Of course, now, when exactly did you start feeling your mental state begin to turn?
Subject XXXX-01: Last week, I was sitting in my office, trying to get my head around the situation I was in, wife left me, took everything I had pretty much, I couldn't see my own kids, it was horrible, I thought to myself, begins sobbing, I thought to myself c-c-could it g-get any worse!
Dr.Daniels: Please continue
Subject XXXX-01: Sobbing continues, and then I heard it! It was my own mother, I could hear her voice, speaking directly to me. It sounded like she was p-playing out of a… radio out back or somethin, it was…surreal.
Dr.Daniels: What did the voice say?
Subject XXXX-01: She t-told me everything was gonna be OK. She t-told me she was t-t-t-there f-for me. She told me I-I have the strength to beat this, to overcome this challenge, she t-told me she didn't want to see me g-go the way I was thinking of Subject bursts into tears
Dr.Daniels: Reaches out to console Subject thank you for your cooperation, sir, that will be enough
<End log, 25/7/20██, 7:28pm EST
Closing statement: Subject XXXX-01 was escorted out of the interview room, a decision was taken not to administer amnestics and subject was allowed to return home.
Addendum XXXX-B: A series of tests were conducted on several D-class personnel with degrading mental health in order to study the effects of SCP-XXXX
Test A1 - 28/7/20██
Subject: D-18861,Male, 28, suffering from clinical depression
Procedure: Subject is to sit in a small room directly opposite SCP-XXXX and report what they can hear
Results: D-18861 sat directly across the table from SCP-XXXX, approximately 10 seconds later radio static began to be emitted from SCP-XXXX. When instructed to describe what they could hear, D-18861 replied being able to hear the soft, faint voice of their mother. They went on to mention how the voice was telling them to keep fighting, and to know that, quote 'I am proud of you no matter what happens to you in your life, please for the sake of me don't let yourself become this, I know you can find a way, It's in your nature'. Swiftly after, D-18861 began to break down and cry, before reaching out to embrace SCP-XXXX, who returned an embrace back but reported that he felt 'better' and 'stronger'.D-18861 admitted having an incredibly strong connection with his mother, prior to his recruitment at the foundation Test concluded.
Analysis: It appears that SCP-XXXX mimics the voice of a close family member, to really give the subject a sense of belief and that there is someone looking after them, touching really. Further tests will be undergone to test just how far SCP-XXXX's transmissions can reach. - Dr.███
Test A2 - 30/7/20██
Subject: D-44359, Female, 19, suffers from severe anxiety/clinical depression
Procedure: SCP-XXXX to be placed in same room as in Test-A1, however D-44359 is to be located in an adjacent room, fitted with soundproofed padding on the walls. Subject advised to inform research team on what she heard, if she heard anything
Results: Subject skulked into the testing chamber and sat in the instructed seat. SCP-XXXX placed in the adjacent room. 10 seconds later, SCP-XXXX looked up and began to emit a radio signal into the adjacent room, bypassing the soundproof barriers. When instructed to explain what she could hear, subject explained tearfully that she could hear her father speaking to her. She further mentioned that the voice was reminding her of the 'wonderful times' they shared together during her childhood, and how it would be a 'horrible for everyone in the family if you were to let these problems worsen'. D-44359 broke down and began crying, at which point SCP-XXXX was spotted at the door of its room. SCP-XXXX was allowed out of the chamber it was in and immediately walked towards the room D-44359 was located. It was permitted access and the two shared a warm embrace inside the room. Subject later reported that here father had died long ago, and that now she felt 'stronger' and 'a sense of protection' had come over her after hearing the transmission.
Analysis: Man, really pulling at the heart strings these tests are, beautiful isn't it really. Anyway, SCP-XXXX's transmissions do not seem to be obstructed by any soundproofing or the subject being in a different room. It's still inconclusive however whether or not the subject being in a different area completely will have an effect. - Dr.███
Test A3 - 4/8/20██
Subject: D-82856, Male, 55, severe anxiety/PTSD disorder, clinical depression
Procedure: SCP-XXXX to remain in same room as previous, while Subject is to be located to a secure room at Site-██. Subject is to inform research staff on what they hear, if they hear anything.
Results: D-82856 sat on a chair in the designated room, while SCP-XXXX was placed within its testing room. a few seconds later, it began to emit its transmission. Roughly 2 minutes later, D-82856 started to tear up, and shot up out of his chair to pace around the room. When asked to explain what he could hear, subject replied he could hear his grandmother talking to him. He explained that she 'understood what he was going through' and that he was 'not alone during these times', he further mentioned that the voice was telling him to remain calm, and that his family would be devastated if he were to go through with the thoughts in his mind. D-82856 began crying, and burrowed his head in his hands, subject refused to continue. SCP-XXXX was escorted to site-██ and entered the room where D-82856 was located, SCP-XXXX hopped up onto the table and put its arm around the subject, and patting subject on the back. Subject stated his extremely close bond with his grandmother since his early childhood, and reported feeling 'heaps better' and that he found a new lease of life and a will to keep on living.
Analysis: Boy, any more of these tests and the waterworks are coming. This little robot really is a gem, its so happy and it seems its main goal it to make others just as happy as itself. Its transmissions seems to know no bounds, although extensive testing on this has yet to be approved, for the mean time, we can say that this SCP can only do good. - Dr.██
Additional Note: SCP-XXXX's effects appear extremely strong, but each test has been conducted with SCP-XXXX at full to near-full power level. Let's see what happens after SCP-XXXX has walked around the site a fair old while and is on a lower power level, will the range of its affects still have the same strength?- Dr.██
Test A4 12/9/20██
Subject: D-99248, 35, Male suffering from schizophrenia
Procedure: D-99248 was to be placed in an adjacent room from SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX currently on 30% power at time of testing
Results: D-99248 reported hearing a voice exactly like his deceased mother, although reporting that the voice sounded faint and slightly difficult to hear, although could make out the words 'you will be OK' and 'I'm always looking over you'. After roughly 30-40 minutes of exposure subject reported he couldn't hear anything else, test concluded.
Analysis: Well, there is something. SCP-XXXX's affects are lessened the more power SCP-XXXX has consumed. I guess now we have to keep going lower to see if this pattern continues or if there is some sort of cut-off point where the effects' radius can't decrease any further. - Dr.██
Test A5 - 24/9/20██
