SCP-4521-1 through SCP-4521-7

Item #: SCP-4521

Object Class: Euclid (Formerly Safe)

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4521-1 through SCP-4521-7 are to be kept inside a small black drawstring pouch in a Secure Storage Vault at Site-12. At least one security guard must be inside the room at any given time and must report any movement attempted by any instance of SCP-4521. All research with SCP-4521-4 and SCP-4521-5 is to be conducted by personnel with at least Level 3 access, while research conducted with SCP-4521-7 requires Level 4 access. A log must be kept of outcomes of the experiments, along side which instance(s) of SCP-4521 were involved.

Description: SCP-4521 is a set of anomalous dice that constitute standard set of dice used in most tabletop role playing games; One 4-sided die, one 6-sided die, one 8-sided die, one 10-sided die, one 10-sided percentile die, one 12-sided die, and one 20-sided die, all with standard shapes referred to as SCP-4521-1 through SCP-4521-7 respectively. All dice are made of high quality pearl, colored purple with a polished finish. Numbers are etched in standard sans serif font filled with ink made from 14k gold.

Anomalous properties of SCP-4521 are only apparent when a desired action is narrated out loud before rolling them, similar to a fashion found in tabletop games. Due to the nature of most tabletop games, either SCP-4521-7 or a combination of SCP-4521-4 and SCP-4521-5 must be rolled to manifest it's anomalous properties. Currently other instances of SCP-4521 have shown no anomalous properties when rolled on their own.

When an individual announces an action they wish to performs and then rolls SCP-4521-7, they are compelled to complete their action regardless of the result. (See Test Log) The success of this action is solely dependent on the result produced by SCP-4521-7, with simple tasks usually succeeding on a result of 5 or greater, standard tasks on a result of 10 or higher, and so on. An individuals aptitude will effect the number required to complete the task. (See Test Log) An individual will automatically succeed, most likely succeed See Addendum 4521-7-1, in completing their action if SCP-4521-7 lands on "20", and fails if it lands on a "1". Landing on a "1" also will result in extra All attempts to affect the probability have shown ineffective.

Sometimes, an individual who has already rolled SCP-4521-7 may feel compelled to roll another instance of SCP-4521. When it is SCP-4521-7. This seems to function similarly to "rolling with advantage or disadvantage" depending if the circumstances would make their action harder or easier to perform. (See Test Log) Every other instance, with the exception of 4521-7-5, has followed any successful action attempting to damage another object or person. They seem to correlate with the relative amount of damage one does to a target.

Note: After spending a few weeks in containment it was noted there was a sudden spike in containment breaches located ██ meters from D-3057 containment locker. Later it was determined that periodically every hour SCP-4521-7 was rolling itself through unknown means. Afterwards, it was confirmed that upon rolling considerably high, a containment breach occur. Attempts to restrain SCP-4521-7 have been somewhat successful, only being effective if under constant watch. Pending reclassification to Euclid. (Approved)

Addendum 4521-7-2: D-3057 rolls a "20" after declaring "I will become a god". D-3057 celebrates after seeing the roll, and proceeds to approach Security in the testing chamber. Security is ordered to open fire at D-3057. D-3057 is successfully terminated.

Note: Thank God, I thought for a second this thing could do anything if you got a 20.

Addendum 4521-7-2: D-3058 rolled a "1" after announcing he would escape from foundation, which initially seemed successful when a sudden containment breach allowed D-3058 to escape, until they was intercepted by SCP-[REDACTED], resulting in the deaths of ██ D-class, and ██ personnel after recontainment.

Note: Due to the instability of the effects of "critical roles", access to SCP-4521-7 is now limited to Level 4 personnel or Level 3 personnel with prewritten approval from at least one Level 4 if provided with a list of actions. Any violation or deviation from preapproved tests will result in immediate termination upon discovery.
