War of the Worlds

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid Neutralized

tripodeins

An illustration by Henrique Alvim-Corrêa resembling SCP-XXXX.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX has no containment procedures due to its only instance's disappearance after the end of SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX, if recurring, should be immobilized via amputation of its legs, and then should be transported to a large metal containment chamber for examination. SCP-XXXX, when in containment, should have any organisms inside removed before inspection. All witnesses should be interrogated before administering amnestics.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon which occured during the broadcasting of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds radio drama. During this broadcast, a large tripedal machine (SCP-XXXX-1) was spotted over the landing spot of the Martians in the War of the Worlds story, the sand pit in Horsell Common, Surrey, United Kingdom. The nature of SCP-XXXX is unknown due to the lack of opportunity to examine its only current instance. As of the occurance of SCP-XXXX-B, instances of SCP-XXXX are known to take differing "forms" which suggests a cycle of construction.

SCP-XXXX instances match the illustrations by Henrique Alvim-Corrêa, with spherical "feet" on the ends of cylindrical metal legs, two large human-like eyes on the front of a canopy-like hood, and a mass of tentacles, one of which is wider and has a large "heat-ray" which closely resembles a 19th century camera.

Interrogated witnesses have described that SCP-XXXX's heat ray has the ability to generate thermal radiation in massive amounts from its "barrel" capable of disintegrating most if not all known materials. Witnesses also claim SCP-XXXX-1 used its tentacles to kill bystanders in a variety of ways.

The following "call" has been recorded from the operation on SCP-XXXX-1:

Space Tree

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe

spacetree

SCP-XXXX during containment.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be kept on the ███████ Foundation Space Station in an airlocked chamber made primarily of reinforced glass. The room should have as little air as possible due to SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects. SCP-XXXX should be given one litre of water each Earth day.

Description: SCP-XXXX is currently a bonsai tree sapling which currently measures 75 centimetres in height. SCP-XXXX can only retain its life cycle in an orbital vacuum, with a watered patch of soil and access to sunlight. Upon death, SCP-XXXX has been found to burst into flames, burn down, and regenerate from its patch of soil within the course of three hours. It is currently unknown how this process occurs. SCP-XXXX's soil becomes fused together during the death and revival process of SCP-XXXX, which is presumably a method to allow its revival go uninterrupted. As of writing, there is no known method to separate the soil which SCP-XXXX resides in during death/revival process.

SCP-XXXX was discovered after stargazers at the █████ Observatory reported a strange object spotted in the sky. After thorough investigation SCP-XXXX was noted and retrieved by ███████
Foundation Space Station operatives.

The Animal Men

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-XXXX should be kept underground in 100m by 100m a zoo-like compartment made of reinforced glass. The cage should have a realistic, natural environment fit with diverse amounts of flora and fauna, as well as an aquatic environment.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a previously unknown species of fauna. Instances of SCP-XXXX are a sentient, semi-intelligent hairless species taking the form of many Earthly animals, the most common including (but not limited to) that of hamsters, hedgehogs, octopi, and goats. At the time of writing, there are 56 instances of SCP-XXXX in containment. Instances of SCP-XXXX's forms are not affected by the parents and are apparently completely randomised. SCP-XXXX uses the same reproductive system and cycle as humans, including the aquatic animal forms.
