Item #: SCP-4038
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the size of SCP-4038 it is difficult to contain, though it should not pose any problem. As it is in a densely populated area, there is to be one Task Force on site at all times 3 permanent Task Forces of guards on site.
All citizens are to be kept at least three (3) blocks away from SCP-4038. Any trespassers should be apprehended immediately at all costs and given Class-A amnestic agent. (See Incident Report 4038-A). No pictures are to be taken anywhere in a vicinity of1.6 km x 1.6 km of SCP-4038.
Description: SCP-4038 is a skyscraper found in ██████ ████, ████████. SCP-4038 can only be seen by electronic photograph, taken with items such as cellular devices and digital cameras. Pictures were taken with cameras as old as George Eastman’s “Eastman Kodak” originally manufactured and put up for sale in 1888 but did not show a manifestation of SCP-4038. Though pictures taken with a “Canon EOS 1D Mark III” camera, originally manufactured in 2001 and on were able to manifest SCP-4038. Pictures taken with SCP-978 were able to produce an image of SCP-4038, though due to some derogatory depictions of some of the guards pictured, the image has been redacted from Foundation records.
Anyone who enters SCP-4038 is reported to be sent to a separate dimension in which everything around the subject appears to be demolished and aged. The sky is a brownish-orange color, and there are no signs of life, though sounds of cars and citizens conversating are heard. This separate dimension has been designated SCP-4038-1.
It is possible to return from SCP-4038 by returning to the point of entry and touching the side of the building. Several D-Class Personnel were sent into this separate dimension, which Researchers took to naming SCP-4038-1 the “[DATA EXPUNGED],” have and returned with no notable side-affects, other than slight fatigue and confusion. Buildings may be demolished inside SCP-4038-1 with no consequences affecting the outside world. Buildings may NOT be demolished inside of SCP-4038 at any time. See Addendum 11-29-15. All events that occur in SCP-4038-1 have been reported to occur in the real world exactly one day later and occurs at the exact same time as reported in SCP-4038-1.
Addendum 8-15-14: O5 Command is currently looking into the possibility of using SCP-4038-1 as a storage site to hold non-dangerous, Safe Class SCP objects. This idea of the storage area has been based off SCP-004-1’s Site-62. This Site will be designated Site-██ and will have a ██-petabyte database to store information on SCP’s as well as 3 warehouses to store SCP objects that require little-to-none heavy containment procedures.
Addendum 10-23-15: O5 has approved plans for Site-██, and construction is to start in exactly one (1) month. In addition to the existing plans, we have been instructed to build a secret containment building for an unknown SCP object, with 3m x 3m x 3m with 15.25cm thick concrete walls, with the inside plated with 0.9525cm thick sheets of SCP-148.
Addendum 11-27-15: Construction has begun inside of SCP-4038. Two (2) cranes, three (3) excavators, seven (7) bulldozers, five (5) loaders and dump trucks as well as one (1) ton of TNT explosives have been brought in. Testing shows that no immediate side-effects of construction affect the outside world, and it is theorized the destruction of buildings will also have no affect either. Explosives are currently being set on a nearby building to make room for the first warehouse building.
Addendum 11-28-15: Explosives have set off on a building with the address of [DATA EXPUNGED] and was successfully demolished. Clearing of the area will now commence.
Addendum 11-29-15: We are getting reports that a day after the destruction of the building at the address of [DATA EXPUNGED], the same building in the real world had collapsed. After closer inspection after the collapse, it was found that the cause of the collapse was structural failures. Coincidentally these “structural failures” occurred in the same areas that explosives were placed. All further demolition and construction plans have been halted until further research proves that this theory is the case. For a full report see (Incident Report 4038-B)
