Item #: SCP-XXXX
Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 12m by 12m by 12m containment unit composed of 1.5 meter-thick walls of carbon nanotube lined tantalum-tungsten alloy. The air temperature inside of SCP-XXXX's containment cell must always stay at exactly 23.8 degrees Celsius to prevent the activation of the SCP. No personnel may enter SCP-XXXX's containment unit without permission from Dr. Pike.
If the temperature within the containment unit fluctuates from the standard unit temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius, immediately notify Dr. Pike so precaution procedures can be put into effect.
There must be at least two armed guards stationed at the door of SCP-XXXX's containment unit. At least one researcher must be remain on-site to keep the air temperature inside of SCP-XXXX's containment unit at exactly 23.8 degrees Celsius.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be an ordinary Hampton Bay 48000 BTU stainless steel patio heater, with the only noticeable difference being that instead of containing fire, the head assembly contains a mixture of what appears to be magma, ice, and mercury. (Research is still ongoing to determine the nature of these elements and how they interact). SCP-XXXX is composed of a metal currently unknown to the Foundation. SCP-XXXX's most anomalous property, however, is the ability to vastly and rapidly change the temperature of the area around it in a roughly 10m range when the temperature surrounding the SCP isn't exactly 23.8 degrees Celsius. temperatures emitted from SCP-XXXX have been recorded at up to 2,034 degrees Celsius, and to -████ degrees Celsius.
It is currently unknown how SCP-XXXX achieves these feats. The metal that composes appears to be heavily resilient to extreme temperature, and is most likely the reason SCP-XXXX isn’t affected by the severe temperatures produced by it.
