Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, containment has been rendered impossible. Additionally, containment is of low priority because it has been normalized by human society.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon affecting most known non-microbial living organisms1 on Earth, that came to be through unknown means in about 200 B.C.E.. Efforts have been made by The Foundation to suppress any knowledge of this through confiscation, redaction, or editing of certain elements in historical documents. Any person outside of authorized foundation personnel found to be aware of SCP-XXXX existence or the period before it is to be amnesticized.
The general populous refers to it as "Sleep" or "Tiredness". Remedies to SCP-XXXX have been developed by the public, but none have been able to end it entirely, and prolonged usage of them will worsen the users physiological state in the long run. Several attempts at making an antidote have been made by The Foundation using [REDACTED], among other substances, with varying levels of success.
Prior to the induction of SCP-XXX to the earth, organisms would be able to remain conscious their entire lives unless they lost it through injury. It is unknown how exactly this was achieved due to of the absence of modern or accurate sciences of the time. A leading theory however, is the activities that normally would take place during sleep are disseminated throughout an organism's waking hours.
