Secure Containment Procedures: SCP-5928 is to be kept in an airtight container exactly 23x23x23 centimeters wide, long, and tall. The box must be constructed of 2-inch thick steel alloy with rubber coating on the inside. At all times at least a level-2 personnel must watch the containment box, and the box must be bolted to a pedestal of 0.75 to 1.25 meters height. If SCP-5928 is activated, all personnel must leave the containment area immediately to avoid death by severe internal bleeding.
Description: SCP-5928 is a red bouncy ball made of a rubber-like substance that is colored #5C5C5C. When SCP-#### touches air, it must be thrown within one minute or it will start to reproduce itself every 1.5 minutes after leaving eye contact. Redo training 5928 after being activated will lead to the repeated reproduction and destruction of the box. SCP-5928 is not known to possess any type of sentience. When activated by being thrown at a wall, 5928 will start to bounce, accelerating until reaching speeds passing 250 km/hr. After about 35 seconds of bouncing, this effect will stop and the anomaly will slowly come to a stop on the ground. It is then that any nearby personnel must grab the anomaly and quickly recontain it before it can be activated again after a 30-second dormancy.
The only two known ways to terminate this anomaly is to enter it to SCP-914 on the “Rough” setting during its dormant period or disintegrate the object through machinery. The anomaly will then proceed to disappear or become a regular rubber bouncy ball. The manufacturer of the ball, [DATA EXPUNGED] has no record of making this type of ball, and has never seen the type of plastic used in SCP-5928, but does say that they produced the balls that come out of 914 when 5928 is put in on “Rough.” SCP-5928 possesses a size of █x█ cm.
SCP-5928 has similar properties to those of SCP-018. The object was found in ████, Italy when the private group ███████ was searching a(n) █████████ █████████ ████████. The group called emergency services after group member ███████ Smith decided to throw the ball. This resulted in 3 members being severely wounded and one dead.
