Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in Level-7² containment locker Alpha-Rho in Sector-J of Armed Biological Containment Area-14, with SCP-XXXX-1 instances in humanoid containment in the same sector.. Personnel accessing SCP-XXXX must have specialised hazmat equipment provided by Site Director ████████. All testing with SCP-XXXX must occur within Sector-K of the facility, or in Cave system 46 if the sector is compromised. SCP-XXXX cannot be transferred between facilities, and all personnel passing through Sector-J must undergo routine Genetic analysis to ensure that no breach has occurred. Only one strand of RNA is permitted in other Biohazard Containment Facilities to ensure indefinite supplies for research and reduced breach risk.

In the event of Lockdown Code 15/A/Rho-Cyan, Sector-F and below must be sealed and detonated. If Area-14 is lost to foreign powers, allied or enemy, then external and internal nuclear warheads are to be launched, giving any foundation personnel chance to escape until the entirety of the Ruby Mountains are destroyed and Class-A amnestic are administrated to the full population of the planet. If warhead detonation fails and more than three (3) cities/towns are infected, a minimum of 8 council members will be required to activate ρK-Class "Genetic-Immortality" Scenario countermeasures to destroy all possible sources of infection in the state of Nevada within the United States of America. Failure to eradicate all cases of infection and allowing it to spread to nine other, unadjacent states across the country will result in the authorisation of Operation: "GOAL destruction"³, even if Site-01 and SCP-2000 will be destroyed. Personnel across the world, regardless of the success of the detonation or level of destruction in the USA, must be evacuated to any of the 2310 housing silos located within the London Underground transit system, named Area-91. A Charlie-November-Yankee misinformation campaign is to be launched claiming that an order had been sent by the US nuclear office, causing all warheads to be launched and detonated; All evidence that comes up from this campaign must be agreed with the UNGOC to point towards the reason stated above, rather than the foundation and the subject to be referred to as a "failed bioweapons test, resulting in catastrophic deaths."

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a strand self-replicating of █RNA developed by the foundation to help to increase the lifespan of humanity. The genetic code of any RNA samples are redacted on a "Need-To-Know" basis, and any researchers who have taken images or sketches of the genetic codes will be apprehended and terminated. The proteins are highly reproductive and can overwhelm containment officers if left unchecked. It currently has not been known to infect anomalous entities, causing SCP-XXXX to be a valuable yet dangerous weapon in fighting organisations such as the Chaos Insurgency. However, research has shown inconsistencies in which members of the animal kingdom are affected, meaning further research is needed. Currently, only homo sapiens, domestic cats, haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus), bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) and koala bears (Phascolarctos cinereus) surviving. All other animals are immune to SCP-XXXX, with the exception of the Pongo abelii family of the orangutan species⁴ which is unable to survive past Stage 1.

SCP-XXXX is primarily spread through contact to a liquid source containing the subject, and is mostly undetectable when in water filtration systems, except for a slight shimmer that the infected liquid gives off if it is colourless. Upon infection, SCP-XXXX will then spread via sharing liquids, such as blood or reproductive liquids⁵. However, some subjects (including certain containment solutions) causes SCP-XXXX to be a toxic sludge-coloured gas, but the event has been extremely rare to witness and harder to reproduce the effects. The effects have been recorded to take place during late Stage 2 cases in subjects. Due to the health hazard involved, all SCP-XXXX-1 cases that produce any gasses that are not normally released, such as Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen and [DATA REDACTED], or any sludge-coloured products, are to be terminated upon first opportunity with the exception of one for further testing.

The following stages of mutation occur upon contact:

Stage 1. "Infection":

Subjects are infected by SCP-XXXX. The subject can feel a foreign chemical flowing through blood vessels, and feel an increase of adrenaline. At this point, the body tries to destroy the foreign RNA via Phagocytosis, yet is highly ineffective. Any medications that can be given to stop RNA reproduction in the subject's blood plasma during this stage only, but testing for these medications are currently inconclusive.

Stage 2. "Mutation":

After 25 minutes of exposure, subjects undergo violent seizures. These seizures are affected by the subject's heart rate, adrenal levels and blood cell count. The body of the subject is seen to be morphing around the neck and shoulder plates, and additional hair growth is spotted in unusual places, such as on the cheeks and inner ear. Gender does not affect this process. The subject is declared SCP-XXXX-1 and is to be terminated upon the end of observations. The subject's immuno-response system also begins to stop fighting RNA strains and allows itself to be genetically edited.

Stage 3. "Evolution":

Upon cease of seizures, subjects are observed to grow wings and release skin from their necks. They release an ear-splitting screech, able to interfere with seismic monitoring equipment located on the other side of the facility. Subjects will then begin to hunt and infect healthy humans. SCP-XXXX-1 must be terminated immediately due to increased strength and speed, unless are securely contained in biohazard humanoid containment chambers. Subjects at this point display no higher brain functions, and are incapable of communication or problem solving above basic survival levels. Victims will also begin excreting liquids or gasses from their pores or other exit points.

History:
SCP-XXXX was originally a foundation project ran by Researcher T███████ W█████ and his daughter, Dr. A███ W█████ to find possible ways of improving containment methods. Their testing was funded and classified by the O4 Council⁶, and they were tasked to research possible methods for improving containment personnel's abilities. All information given to the O4 council was given straight to the O5 council. Research was switched between Site-66, Area-12 and Area-14 to reduce the chances of a security leak. The prion that the council was shown was discovered as an accident, after it had infected nearby testing mice. The Council was brought to a meeting, where the future of the project was discussed between the Council and Site Directors of the involved sites, who were unaware of the project until they were called to the meeting. A vote was called to determine if SCP-XXXX should be given to the Global Occult Coalition and to global governments for human distribution.

The following document was published upon the finalizing of the vote from the O5 Council, The Administrator and the Site Directors from Site-66, Area-12 and Area-14⁷:

Upon the shuttering of the project, all assigned staff were re-assigned positions in Area-12, and all samples of SCP-XXXX were sealed in small containment bins. However, these were replaced by storage tanks due to fear of leakage of protein containment fluid.

SCP-2546 and SCP-4654 are believed to be involved in the production of SCP-XXXX due to similarity in functions, but research into this fact is forbidden by the O5 council.

Incident Log XXXX-A:
During testing, SCP-████ breached containment, causing Secondary Testing Post Sierra to undergo multiple Code Blue and Code Green scenarios across all sectors within the post. SCP-XXXX was found to be the major source for infections during the breach, and the Post was detonated, sterilising the area. The breach was found to be occurring 35 minutes prior to SCP-████'s escape, meaning that SCP-XXXX could have spread into Area-14 if the breach wasn't noticed. O5 council member O5-█ was also killed during the blast, and camera footage showed some spread of SCP-XXXX to the surrounding cave systems, which were also incinerated and caved in. This resulted in the creation of countermeasures to ensure that no global breaches could occur. Due to the high unpredictability of SCP-XXXX's growth, the theoretical ρK-Class "Genetic-Immortality" Scenario was created in case the Foundation's containment facilities were lost to infection, making London's Area-91 to be the primary facility that personnel are to relocate to. The site is no longer to be inhabited by any humans until usage is required, and the facility is to be cleaned remotely with usage of specially designed automatic vacuums.

Access beyond this point requires Level-4/XXXX access

Addendum XXXX-1:
During observation of SCP-XXXX-1-██ (D-61075), the subject proceeded to have a seizure in their containment chamber. The subject was observed to then to have increase their brain activity by approximately 3%, and began to display higher brain function usage. The subject then began to vocalise with the guard moving past, unaware of the evolution that had just occurred. Upon entry, the guard was ambushed, and was dismembered. Subject then began to speak towards the camera, stating that personnel would receive the same fate if they did not accept SCP-XXXX. The subject has since been renamed SCP-XXXX-2-1, and has become the only SCP-XXXX-2 instance produced so far as of ██/██/20██. The subject has also demonstrated the ability to control SCP-XXXX-1 instances, as well as the ability to design weaponry on blueprint papers more advanced than the current designs in production today. Investigation onto if these weapons can successfully function are ongoing. Code A14/Alpha/Beta-Supercyan has been created in the event of any SCP-XXXX-2 instances breaching containment. However, SCP-XXXX-2 instances are unable to produce any liquids or gasses that are not naturally occurring in humans, redicing containment requirements.

Addendum XXXX-2:
In order to prevent overcrowding, the Ethics Committee has authorised the transfer of one SCP-XXXX-2 instance to Site-66 and Area-12. This instance will be replaced upon neutralisation, unless transport has been proven impossible. Currently, only instances sent to Site-66 have arrived without complications, and has since been cooperative with most testing. However, all breaches regarding the subject has resulted in it moving towards Area-14, and it is believed that all SCP-XXXX-1 and XXXX-2 instances are connected via a form of hivemind. This is unclear currently how this works, and all personnel tasked with monitoring instances in Site-66 and Area-12 are not to be aware of the existence of other XXXX-2 instances, as well as XXXX-1 instances or XXXX itself.

6. O4 was given administrative powers three years after it's founding to ensure that classified projects remain under secure supervision when Alpha-1 is unavailable.
