SCP-[REDACTED] - The Memory Gun : Safe : Contained : Cognito Influencing SCP

Description log:

SCP-[REDACTED] Appears, at the surface, to be a Colt 1872 Open Top revolver chambered in the .44 Henry Rimfire cartridge. The bluing on the revolver is worn and patinaed as is in keeping with the apparant age of the SCP.
The only notable distinction from similar museum pieces is that the grips of the revolver appear to be made from human bone, but all attempts to study this material have been met with [REDACTED]. In line with other 1872 Colt Open Top revolvers
the barrel measures 7.5 inches in length, the cylinder can hold 6 rounds, and it is single action only.

Containment: The SCP-[REDACTED] is not outwardly hostile and cannot effect the world around it unless held, it is held in the artifact containment unit of Site-37

Origin:

The origin of SCP-[REDACTED] is unknown, but from the research logs included below some assumptions can be made given the affects of SCP-[REDACTED].
The SCP was found in an old closed down gun shop in West Texas by Agent [REDACTED] in 1983.

Research logs:

Research log SCP-[REDACTED]-XR001: A D class was sent into the containment chamber and instructed to pick up the revolver. The revolver was unloaded for this test. The D class reported a heightened sense of awareness and the hairs on the back of her neck rising, but little else.
When she was instructed to put down the SCP she appeared to do so reluctantly, but complied.

Research log SCP-[REDACTED]-XR002: The same D class was sent into the containment chamber, this time with a single round loaded in the gun. Thirty seconds after picking up the firearm she appeared to go into a trance, babbling something in a voice that did not seem to be her own about, "These god damn cattle rustlers ain't gonna take my cows this time."
While in the trance she cocked, aimed, and fired the gun into the wall, apparently at some unseen assailant, before suffering what appeared to be multiple gun shot wounds to the chest and lower abdomen. The D class was removed from the chamber by researchers and given medical care.
The medical team reported no actual bullets found in the wounds the D class had suffered.

Research log SCP-[REDACTED]-XR003: Attempt to use blank cartridges in the firearm. [Data expunged from record]

Research log SCP-[REDACTED]-XR004: Researcher's note: (Extra bullet proofing was added to the containment chamber prior to the execution of this test.) A Third D class was sent into the containment unit, this time with six rounds loaded in the revolver and an extra bandoleer of twelve cartridges.
The class D muttered the same words and in the same voice as the first D class and fired five of the six loaded rounds in the SCP but suffered only a minor injury to the shoulder. Attempts to communicate with the D class after this were met with insults and the D class pointing the still loaded revolver at the researcher who attempted to enter the chamber to give medical aid to the D class.
The researcher withdrew from the chamber and the experiment was allowed to continue. The D class then promptly ejected the spent shells from the SCP and reloaded from the bandoleer, still appearing to be in a trance like state. The D class then remained still for five minutes and 34 seconds.
After the elapsed time the D class sprung to life, brandishing the revolver and shouting in an entirely different voice as before, "Unhand her, you scallywags." the D class then fired two shots in quick succession and then appeared to rush to the aid of a person the researchers could not see. The D class exclaimed, [REDATED] over, and over again before once again reloading the revolver and falling into a still state.
After two minutes and seventeen seconds the D class appeared docile again and two members of the research team went into the containment chamber in an attempt to retrieve the D class. [Data expunged from record]

The next two research logs have been stricken from the record.

Summary: SCP-[REDACTED] is considered safe and contained, but no further research is to be conducted at this time without 05 level clearance on the project. -Dr. Miller
