Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B are to be stored in separate 15cm3 boxes made of silicon. These boxes are to be kept in a 5m3 room. Access to SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B is authorized only to those with level 3 clearance while access to either SCP-XXXX-A or SCP-XXXX-B is permitted to those with level 2 clearance. Testing needs to be permitted by a level 4 personnel. Under no circumstances should SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B be in contact for more than 2 minutes indoors. Long term exposure (more than 10 hours) between SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B should not be attempted.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a pair of magnets hence referred to as SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. The word "NEGATIVE" is finely engraved on SCP-XXXX-A while on SCP-XXXX-B is the word "POSITIVE”. When two similar poles of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B come into contact, SCP-XXXX-A will get shorter or retract into itself at a speed of 4cm/s. SCP-XXXX-A will not get denser during this period. Once SCP-XXXX-A gets to the point where it should disappear, SCP-XXXX-A will pull air towards its reflection on the other side, hence forward referred to as SCP-XXXX-C, compressing it. SCP-XXXX-C will gradually get longer while SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B are exposed to one another. SCP-XXXX-A is still able to be held where it should be, although to other viewers it may appear that the person holding SCP-XXXX-A is holding nothing. SCP-XXXX-A will not stop when coming into contact with an obstruction, instead pushing against it until it breaks. It should be noted that any subjects around SCP-XXXX-C will experience shortness of breath and if they do not relocate, will die from suffocation. If the magnetic fields of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B come out of contact SCP-XXXX-A will slowly retract to its original size at a rate of 2 cm/s. This effect will not occur with any magnet beside SCP-XXXX-A coming into contact with SCP-XXXX-B or vice-versa. SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B will interact normally with other magnets or metals. If a magnet is made using SCP-XXXX-A or SCP-XXXX-B it will have the properties of the SCP used to make it.
Addendum-A
Test log A 26/██/██
Purpose: To determine if SCP-XXXX-A or SCP-XXXX-B is able to magnetize another metal.
Material Used: 1 2x2x7cm iron block, SCP-XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX-A
Results: SCP-XXXX-B is rubbed against the iron block. The iron block is shown to have been successfully magnetized via exposing to another identical iron block. The iron block is exposed to SCP-XXXX-A, SCP-XXXX-A retracts. Identical procedure is done excepting the substitution of SCP-XXXX-B for SCP-XXXX-A and with a different iron block. The iron block in after magnetization also functions identically to SCP-XXXX-A.
Recovery log: SCP-XXXX came into foundation attention following the destruction of the ██████ tower in █████, ██████. A suspicious individual was seen holding two small objects shortly before the tower collapsed and was seen fleeing immediately after the tower collapsed. This individual was tracked by foundation agents taken into custody. The individual was found to be a member of ‘Are We Cool Yet’; SCP-XXXX was found on their person.
