Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-5268 is to be kept in a sealed 10m x 10m x 10m box made of Titanium alloy. There are to be 2 airlock doors 60cm thick made of Titanium and have Acid-proof lining on the inside. At all times there should be 2 Site guards standing outside the door, they must be wearing Class 4 Hazardous Containment Suits with Kevlar plating. The guards must be changed every hour and they must be decontaminated. Releasing of SCP-5268 is to only be authorised by Dr.███ or the O5 council. Any Class-D personnel used in testing are to be terminated immediately after to avoid unintentional containment breaching and outbreaks. If an instance of SCP-5268-3 is found in containment, it is to be terminated immediately. Inside of the containment is to be incinerated monthly to stop the conversion of the cell into a hive. If a containment breach is to occur, all Foundation personnel are to be evacuated out of the research site and follow normal protocols. If MTFs deployed to stop SCP-5268 are killed, the last resort protocols are to be activated and the warheads onsite are to be detonated to stop the escape of SCP-5268. Containment Facility is to be kept 100 meters below sea level and out of sight from sonar and other underwater navigation systems. Whilst no testing is occurring the airlock is to be filled with Hydrochloric Acid.
Description:
SCP-5268 (also known as Inferi Redivivus) is a plague/parasite that latches onto victims and absorbs them into the hive mind-Esque army of infected. SCP-5268 activity in the local area, prior to initial containment caused partial investigation from UIU and the UNGOC. Infected instances are to be labelled as SCP—5268-2. Infection is more or less horrifying to witnesses of it. We have noticed that SCP-5268 is controlled by a hive-mind or an Instance of SCP-5268-4. Forms of SCP-5268-2 come in multiple shapes and sizes depending on the host of SCP-5268-2. These instances or “Infection Forms” are to be labelled as SCP-5258-3. We have also noticed there are instances created from the substance that makes a hive of SCP-5268, we have named these “Pure Forms” or instances of SCP-5268-1. Further research on SCP-5268 proves that infection can take place on deceased subjects. Infection usually takes place from contact with an instance of SCP-5268-3 which latches onto the upper torso and head and attempts to burrow the tendrils that it uses like a nose into the head or torso through facial orifices or puncturing the skin. The instance is taken over by the host (SCP-5268-3) and is turned into an instance of SCP-5268-2 through at this time, anomalous means.
Addendum 5268-A: Retrieval
SCP-5268 was found in an underground facility called [REDACTED]. The facility in question was found in a region of Northern Canada known as [REDACTED]. Containment of SCP-5268 was difficult mainly due to the hostility of SCP-5268-2 instances and the infectivity of SCP-5268-3 instances. But due to the efforts in containment from MTF Beta-7 ("Maz Hatters") and MTF Omega-9 ("The Scrubs"/SCP-2639), some SCP-5268-2 and 2 SCP-5268-3 instances were contained. After containment could be completed, O5-█ ordered the facility to be closed down and sealed to prevent public distress.

(Screeching from SCP-5268-2 Instances are heard)
D-5260: Uh, Ah! What the hell are those things! (D-5260 looks through the Airlock window.)
Dr.███: Open the Inner Door:
Guard: Opening now!
D-5260: Help! Please! Help me! Oh God! OH [DATA EXPUNGED]!
Dr.███: Okay seal the Inner Door.
Guard: Sealing!
D-5260: No, NO! I don’t wanna die!
(SCP-5268-2 instances proceed to attack and kill D-5260, he is then assimilated into the hive mind by SCP-5268-2 instances)
D-5260 AHHHHHH! NO!
Dr.███: Hmm. So, it seems SCP-5268 can assimilate deceased subjects.
Guard: God, that is messed up. Who the hell made this thing?
Guard: Wait they are trying to break through the inner airlock door!
Dr.███: Oh crap, get the other guards in. Get code red on standby and prepare for a possible containment breach
Guard: Understood.
(Guard Exits the research room and calls the other guards to the airlock entrance.)
Guard A: Okay I’m back, I got the other guards they are in defensive positions at the outer airlock door.
Dr. ███: Good, confirm the containment protocols.
Guard A: Uh, okay, understood. Beginning containment checks.
Guard B: (On Radio) All clear as of yet.
Guard A: (On Radio) Okay that’s good make sure the containment doors are completely sealed. Flood the inside of the airlock.
Dr.███: Jesus, I never realised these monsters could be so aggressive.
Dr.███: I am hereby filing the request for the reclassification of SCP-5268 from Euclid Class to Keter Class.1

After consensus from the O5 council. SCP-5268 was reclassified to Keter class and Security clearance level 4.

After testing with SCP-5268 and its threat to humanity due to its infectivity, regenerative abilities and intelligence. SCP-5268 was selected to begin Cross-SCP termination testing. Risk Class Reclassification: Existential Threat.
After multiple experiments with SCP-5268, it was decided unanimously by the O5 council for SCP-5268 to be reclassified to Keter class
