Agent-Rand

Item #: TBC

Object Class: TBC

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a purpose built spherical room measuring 60 meters in diameter, the room is located deep underground beneath the Pacific Ocean. SCP-XXXX is to be placed on a platform in the centre of the room, manufactured from steel alloys. There must be a 30 meter radius from the artefact to the containment perimeter at all times. The room is to be vacant with the exception of surveillance cameras embedded within the outer wall and other standard measurement equipment.

Prior to being permitted within the facility which houses SCP-XXX all members of staff including D-class personnel must either:
a) Have their vocal chords removed
(and/or)
b) Be under the effects of SCP-XXXX

Description: SCP-XXXX has the appearance of a finely crafted marble statue with many resemblances to a Homo sapien, however, the statue features a secondary pair of arms that append to the shoulders and secondary legs that append to the rear pelvis, mirroring what would be considered the natural legs. The figures primary limbs make SCP-XXXX appear to be sat down in a meditative position. The index finger and thumb of each hand are touching with the other 3 fingers in a relaxed position, the legs are crossed. The secondary pair of limbs intertwine one another forming what could best be described as a Yoga posture. The secondary left leg is stretched behind the head and held in place by the right arm, the right leg intersects these and is held in place by the left arm.

Appendix 1:
SCP-XXXX has never moved and/or is incapable of movement. It is debatable if the artefact should be considered to be "alive" or if a form of consciousness is even present. The statue does emit a constant heat signature albeit very faint (1 °C) leading us to believe that it is not an inanimate/mechanical object. Heat signatures are generally not synonymous with autonomous possession by a 3rd party (although this should not be discarded when considering security)

Asset Recovery: Following the implementation of world wide transport infrastructure around the 1950's medical reports would occasionally surface describing patients who had lost, or, were in the process of rapidly losing the ability to communicate via the spoken word. An investigation into these anomalies began when a senior member of the Foundation returned from Northern India to find that they could no longer speak. This prompted research teams lead by Senior Officer Charles Beswick to a secluded temple which contained SCP-XXXX, the natives and inhabitants of the temple were all mute. Upon entry to the temple grounds the inhabitants were extremely placid, seemingly not only were they unable to speak but all attempts to communicate with them were unsuccessful. Comm's Log 1 indicates multiple Task Force members reported that internal communications would quickly draw the inhabitants gaze but resulted in no change to their behaviour. The researchers entered the main chamber unhindered and retrieved the artefact (see Mission Report SCP-XXXX 01)

Addendum 1: Mission Logs

Addendum 2: Experiments with the artefact which reveal its more sinister nature and implications within the SCP Foundation
