Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a nondescript room at Site-██. In this room there is to be a desk, large enough to comfortably hold three clipboards, each spaced roughly 12 cm apart. Each of these clipboards should contain ten pieces of A4 printing paper, with a single piece of black A3 paper positioned on top, so that none of the white paper below is visible. SCP-XXXX is to be placed as a substitute for one of the pieces of printing paper. For the purpose of identification, all pieces of A4 paper (excluding SCP-XXXX) are to be luminescent when placed under a blacklight. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be placed in a standard humanoid containment cell until their properties can be recognised neutralised immediately; containment of SCP-XXXX-1 is no longer allowed without Level 3 clearance as of ██/██/20██. SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept in secure storage.

Each clipboard is to be designated SCP-XXXX-A through C with the leftmost clipboard being A, and the rightmost being C; researchers assigned to SCP-XXXX with level 2 clearance are to be told which of the clipboards currently contains SCP-XXXX. Each piece of A4 paper is to be given a number from 1-10, this number indicates the position of SCP-XXXX within the clipboard, with 1 referring to the top paper and 10 to the bottom; only the lead researcher on SCP-XXXX is to have this knowledge.

SCP-XXXX is to kept in it's current position for a period of six months, after which a D-class personnel is to move it to a randomly selected position. They is then to be administered a class-A amnestic and returned to their cell.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a piece of A4 sized printing paper. There is no text written on either side of SCP-XXXX. There are no tears or any obvious damage anywhere on SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is not fluorescent under an ultraviolet light.

At first glance SCP-XXXX does not seem anomalous, but anyone who looks at SCP-XXXX will change forms into one of their three greatest fears. For this reason, researchers are not allowed to interact with SCP-XXXX; and all D-Class personnel interacting with SCP-XXXX must be new to the foundation, and have no prior interactions with any other SCPs. The effects of SCP-XXXX become apparent with in three - twelve minutes. Anyone affected by SCP-XXXX will change back to their original form after death. All subjects affected by SCP-XXXX are hereby designated SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX's effects only work with direct line of sight and without any interruptions, because of this it can be safely viewed through glass or a camera.

All attempts to destroy SCP-XXXX have resulted in SCP-XXXX regenerating from the largest piece. SCP-XXXX also seems to be resistant to all forms of chemical bleaching or changing its colour. Test logs on attempted destruction and bleaching can be found in Addendum XXXX.3. As of ██/07/199█, all attempts at destruction or changing SCP-XXXX in any way are no longer allowed.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered when three foundation researchers at Site ██, were tasked with analysing documents recovered by MTF Delta-5. These documents were recovered from a raid on a Chaos Insurgency base, and were believed to have no anomalous properties. SCP-XXXX had been found in a manila envelope and had been ignored due to that lack of information on the paper. The last known contact with the researchers was at 16:██ when Dr. ███████ when for his lunch break; at 17:██ Dr. ███████ entered the office to find Dr. Carpenter and Dr. White had shapeshifted into SCP-082, and an unknown form resembling a werewolf. Dr. ███████ immediately left the office before he could be harmed and called a containment breach.

Security forces arrived immediately and quarantined the office. Two security staff were killed by instances of SCP-XXXX-1 before they were eliminated and retook their forms as Dr. Carpenter and Dr. White. See Addendum.XXXX.1 for a full report on Incident XXXX.1. Once the area was secure, researchers took all documents from the office and separated them. D-Class personnel were used to identify the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX.

Investigators from MTF Delta-5 were tasked with discovering the origin of SCP-XXXX. Information from the documents discovered alongside SCP-XXXX mentioned an abandoned paper manufacturing plant being used as a base by another Chaos Insurgency cell. Agents from MTF Delta-5 were sent to perform surveillance on the plant. On ██/██/████ clearance was given for Delta-5 operators to raid the factory. Nothing of importance was located in the facility, as such the raid was deemed a failure. For a full log on the raid see Addendum XXXX.2.

No further leads regarding the origins of SCP-XXXX has been located. However, the investigation of SCP-XXXX has been transferred to Eta-5, a small group of Eta-5 agents continue to investigate, in the hope that more information is discovered.
