SCP-4933 "Crown of Flames"
- list item
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4933should be kept in a Refrigerated Titanium storage unit. Kept at a maximum of 0 degrees fahrenheit. With access to Fire Retardants and high pressure water sprinklers.
The testing room must be guarded 24/7 whenever being used .This room must also be chilled to 0 degrees fahrenheit. And lined with heat absorbers and cooled liquid nitrogen nozzles.
Description:SCP-4933 (called the "Crown of Flames" by those who have worn it) is a short, golden-brass crown. it is primarily made of solid gold, along with an unidentified radioactive element. The Crown itself, fits on most adult Humans, and it's side effects are only visible them.
The Crown is not sentient, but seems to work only in specific requirements.
**-Notice-
(The rules are like this for a reason, failure to follow them could lead to catastrophic events.)
*RULES**: SCP-4933
1. SCP-4933 must only be worn inside of designated testing room.
2. When. SCP-4933 is worn inside designated testing room, there must be at least two armed guards right outside.
3. Only the wearer of SCP-4933 should be in the testing room during an experiment.
4.SCP-4933 must not be worn by a "volunteer" for more than 24 hours at a time before temperature reaches critical levels.
SIDE EFFECTS:SCP-4933
-When worn, the crown begins to heat up slowly, around 40 F an hour, when worn too long, it begins to kick off radiation and melt surroundings.
-"volunteer"(s) who wear the crown, feel no side effects at all, and continue to wear the Crown without noticing the heat.
-Eventually, the crown will begin heat up and cinge the wearers hair, and clothing. At which point steam begins to flow out of ears, eyes and mouth.
-Around the time and temperature when clothing begins to cinge,(Times vary depending on wearers size, age and weight) The wearer begins to experience flashes of rage and anger. Eventually to the point where they uncontrollably lash out towards others.
-After the Crown is removed, it instantly cools down to room temperature, and all the emotions of rage go away from the subject. But physical damage and burns stay.
-being in physical contact does not cause the Crown to react, only when it is worn on a human head.
-Does not react when a subject is dead, or if they are non human
- If a subject dies, the Crown will instantly cool to room temperature
- When the Crown is removed, and the subject survives, they will instantly feel all the pain, and damage they have endured. And in most cases die even when the crown has been taken off due to inflicted wounds.
-NOTICE-
THERE IS NO RECORD OF THE FULL HEAT AND POTENTIAL OF SCP-4933, ANY ATTEMPT TO WEAR LONGER THAN ONE DAY COULD LEAD TO A NUCLEAR DISASTER. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, LET THE CROWN HEAT UP FOR MORE THAN ONE DAY. - Dr. Rahj Kalib - lead research officer on SCP-4933.

Upon placing SCP-4933 on his head, the Class D was instructed to sit down on the only chair in the room. He was adorned with a winter coat, and jeans to keep him warm. due to the fact that he was virtually in a cooler.
After a few minutes we asked the subject to explain how he was feeling, and he had said that he felt, in his own words "stronger than an ox.". We noticed a spike in temperature at around the 2 hour mark exactly. Where the crown had reached temperatures of around 112 degree's Fahrenheit. The subject however was oblivious to the fact.
After another hour the temperature was hot enough to burn through his clothing, and the skin and hair around the Crown began to smoke. We asked the subject how he felt, and he responded with. "why the f*ck does that matter." but then immediately apologized.
The next few hours amped up the heat to the point where the subject's head was completely raw, and flesh was exposed. And a black ring of burnt flesh went all the way around the crowns position. He also repeated a list of obscenities, after we asked him for another update. We could no longer get a clear answer out of him after that point. He even punched the mirror until his fists went raw.
At exactly 8 hours in, the subject fell to the floor unresponsive, he was not deceased however, as our monitors around his body told us he had a pulse. He lay there, as the crown began to glow bright red, and caused black thick smoke to pour from his mouth.
He lay unresponsive, as his heart beat lowered, and then was pronounced dead, at exactly 02:52 on 10-10-05.
The crown was instantly cooled, but we turned on the extinguishers from the roof and waited to remove the body.
After the crown was removed and placed into it's cooler box, and the body was taken to waste management to be used more efficiently.
END LOG
It is not exactly confirmed as to where SCP-4933 comes from. Foundation logs state that it was found during the liberation of Paris by American GI's during WWII. Upon finding the crown, a US GI had taken it as a personal item. And MTF Alpha- 4 "Pony Express" subsequently captured and contained the Crown on a shipment of troops back to the United States. It has resided in containment ever since at Site-19.
