Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-001 is to be contained at site x in a building positioned directly in the center of a circular wall with a radius of 100 meters, with another circular wall surrounding the first a further 100 meters out. Food and supplies are to be dropped of at point y at the inner wall, and all personnel outside of the outer wall before SCP-XXXX-001 may retrieve them.
Personnel quarters are to be stationed outside of the second wall, consisting of only spherical construction. packages of volumes under five litres are permitted to have cornered interiors. Addendum: all containers at site x should have cornered edges of with a radius of no less than one fifth of its largest dimension as a response to incident-002.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a memetic entity that infests the minds of people, tending to prefer artists, poets, and musicians. Infected individuals are designated SCP-XXXX-001, and are identified by their apparent perception of SCP-XXXX-002. SCP-XXXX-002 is described as a shapeless, shifting black fog that can only be seen out of the corner of SCP-XXXX-001s eye, and only appears in corners while inactive.

When an individual experiences extreme sadness within a 100 meter radius of SCP-XXXX-001, SCP-XXXX-002 becomes active, becoming visible to SCP-XXXX-001 from any angle and no longer being confined to any corners¹ while it proceeds to seek out the source of said sadness. Every instance of SCP-XXXX-001 has reported that victims are enveloped by the black fog of SCP-XXXX-002, which remains in that spot for the next thirty minutes to an hour before returning to a corner. Researchers report immediate disappearance of victims upon the beginning of this process.

SCP-XXXX-001 experiences a state of mental decline over a period between three months and two years, culminating in the loss of sanity and SCP-XXXX-002 seeking out a new host. This process appears to require the new host to fulfill the conditions for SCP-XXXX-001 to see SCP-XXXX-002, hence requirements for site X personnel quarters to have only rounded interiors. SCP-XXXX-002 will initially only seek a new host within the aforementioned 100 meter radius, but as time without a suitable replacement continues, this radius increases. To date, no upward bound has been found on this radius, given enough time.

The new instance of SCP-XXXX-001 is be signified by their first sight of SCP-XXXX-002, and of the simultaneous cardiac arrest of the previous instance of SCP-XXXX-001.

There, just at the corner of my eye.

The graveyard has become my most favorite escape, where the edges of tombstones don't break there are no corners.
But I always avoid the mausoleum, where always I feel the leer of the shape on the nape of my neck.

I never come when there are funerals.
It doesn't stay in the corners when in the presence of mourners, and with the terror of knowing I brought the thing here, I leave it to its second death and appetite for fear
I flee to some other place, some place it might stay in its corners, where it cannot reach me

But as I flee, I always find, the Hath was never far behind
And now I see I was simply blind
For there are corners in my mind
