Agent Z. Schaefer

Item #: SCP- “Copycat”
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP- is to be contained in a Class 3 containment cell whenever he occupies it. He is to be kept in isolation whenever he occupies this cell with the only exception being routine interviews with Level 3 personnel or higher. Food is to be supplied only once a week, as only minimal sustenance is needed to survive. When occupying his cell, the entrance is to be guarded by no fewer than four (4) armed guards supplied with specially made magnetic guns and stun grenades. All guards assigned to SCP- must undergo routine psychological evaluations bi-monthly to prevent a repeat case of incident -17b. As of incident -03a no surveillance equipment is to be allowed inside his cell.
SCP- has been granted permission to leave his cell and roam the facility. During these periods, SCP- must be accompanied by the four (4) armed guards assigned to his cell and must be mentally prepared to use weapons to contain SCP-. In such an event, the assigned guards must be of the mental attitude to not harm, but contain SCP-. All personnel in the facility must be alerted when SCP- roams the facility to prevent incidents.
A magnetic suspension matrix has been installed into the walls of the cell combined with magnetic implants in the body of SCP-. Activation remotes are to be supplied to the guards on duty outside his cell as well as any personnel that are permitted access inside the cell. Once a month, the cell is to be cleaned and undergo maintenance to ensure the suspension matrix is fully operational.
Only Level 3 personnel or higher are to be permitted into the cell of SCP- as well as direct contact with SCP-. Following incident -14a, anyone who is granted access must first undergo an extensive background check spanning no less than thirty (30) days with a criminal background of any level, or time spent assigned to a more malicious SCP as immediate cause for access rejection. Access to SCP- may only be granted by Level 4 personnel or higher. As of incident -22c, anyone granted direct access to SCP- is required to read past incident reports as a reminder of the risks when working with SCP- in particular. When encountering SCP-, all objects that personnel intend to use in the presence of SCP- must be shown to SCP- prior to use around him.

Description: SCP- appears as an adolescent male (18-25) of mixed descent with jet black hair that grows no longer than 1 centimeter in length and piercing eyes that change color depending on his emotional state. Upon first glance, he appears to suffer from albinism, however this is not the case as he shows no aversion to light and his skin has been shown to change color during research and experiments. He also features an emotionless gaze and a lack of facial expressions, with the exception of being placed in what he, himself, considers to be a threatening situation.
SCP- normally displays the behavior of typical young adult male as well as a high level of intelligence during routine interviews. SCP- has proven to be very cooperative towards Foundation staff that have been approved to make contact with him. However, on certain occasions, SCP- has proven to be extremely dangerous when put into certain, potentially threatening situations.
When SCP- feels threatened, he will immediately begin to show a change in facial appearance and signs of aggression. If SCP- is not returned to a calm state, he will act in an aggressive manner depending upon the type of situation he determines himself to be in. The methods in which he acts out have been classified into four separate levels of ascending aggression which best fit the threatening situation he determines himself to be in. This is aided by his capability of accurately interpreting the mental state of subjects to determine whether or not the mean to harm him. How SCP- interprets a subject’s mental state is currently unknown.
These methods have been classified as:
Low Level: The lowest and most common level of aggression. This is typically brought about by being in possession of an object that SCP- is unaware that you possessed when encountering him, a sensitive topic is touched during interviews, or voices are raised out of frustration. When SCP- enters this level of aggression, he will typically emit high pitched screams and charge at whatever he is threatened by. This usually results in only a brief moment of terror in those affected, with them remaining physically unharmed.
Mid Level: This stage of aggression is usually brought about when a subject attempts to physically intimidate SCP-. When acting at this level of aggression, SCP- will physically attack the aggressor, leaving cuts, bruises, and broken bones. SCP- may also subject the aggressor to psychic attacks. However, this level of aggression does not last long and will ultimately leave no permanent damage to an aggressor.
High Level: This stage of aggression is brought upon when an aggressor makes an attempt to cause physical or mental harm to SCP-. At this stage, SCP- will not only attack the aggressor, but essentially beat them to within an inch of their life or sanity. At this level, SCP- will leave the aggressor with permanent damage, leaving them mentally insane, loss of limbs, or completely paralyzed, but ultimately alive.
Death Level: The highest and rarest level of aggression. This level of aggression is only ever brought on when SCP- feels that his very life is threatened. At this level, SCP- holds nothing back. SCP- will kill the aggressor by any means and will not relent on attacking the aggressor until the aggressor is killed.
What is most notable about SCP- is that during periods of Mid Level or higher aggression, SCP- will exhibit his unique ability. SCP- will perfectly imitate the abilities and, in some cases, the physical size and appendages, of his aggressor, regardless of how long he was subjected to their aggression or what their aggression was, be it mental, physical, or emotional. SCP- has also demonstrated to be capable of using this ability outside of aggressive states provided that he has made contact with the object he imitates. Once contact has ended, SCP- will retain the attributes of that object up to thirty (30) minutes after contact is broken. Examples of p SCP- is capable of imitating include, but are not limited to: concrete, steel, electricity, organic lifeforms, fire, smoke, and other SCPs. Testing with other SCPs have also demonstrated that SCP- has an immunity to the abilities of SCPs regardless of what they may be. The only objects that SCP- are incapable of imitating are objects that he is unable to make contact with. This is limited to magnetic fields, light, and the atmosphere. For this ability, SCP- has been given the nickname of “Copycat”.
All attempts to replicate this ability have resulted in failure. Most notably because any attempt to obtain samples of SCP-’s tissue or bodily fluids have resulted in SCP- mistakenly interpreting these attempts as Mid Level threats, resulting in all personnel attempting to perform this acquisition being subjected to serious physical harm.
SCP- was brought to the Foundation’s attention only recently. SCP- was first encountered by an agent dispatched to the Amazon Rainforest where he observed SCP- hunting alongside wild cats albeit in an unusual fashion. The agent observed SCP- touch a spider and then begin to imitate the abilities of arachnids. Following this encounter, Foundation agents were dispatched across the Amazon and surrounding regions. SCP- was encountered again several days later in Central America, but fled before other agents encountered him. Following this encounters, reports of sightings occurred across the globe before SCP- willingly turned himself over to a squadron of Foundation agents. SCP- claimed that he knew the Foundation was searching for him since his first encounter with the agent in the Amazon but was uncertain of the Foundations intentions and determination to capture him; leading him to observing and studying the agents and facilities until he was certain that the Foundation could be trusted.

Addendum: SCP- is not to make contact with certain SCPs, including: SCP-001 and SCP-2317. This order is directly issued by the O5 Council out of fear that any imitation, ability wise, physically wise, or mentally wise will lead to a YK event.

Report of experimental observations regarding exposure of SCP-’s encounters with other SCPs to O5 Council from [Redacted]

After observing the actions of SCP- during encounters with other SCPs, I have made a disturbing and potentially dangerous observation that must be brought to the Foundation’s attention.
Encounters with animalistic, inanimate, childlike, or male SCPs result in the expected outcomes. These outcomes being normal unaggressive behavior when dealing with Safe and Thaumiel Class SCPs and non-dangerous Euclid and Keter Class SCPS, and aggressive when dealing with dangerous and lethal Euclid and Keter Class SCPs. In each case, SCP- imitated the abilities of these SCPs regardless of their actions. This could most likely be a comfort action when dealing with non-dangerous SCPs to remain calm when encountering other these SCPs in the event of unexpected actions. These results alone are unremarkable.
What is alarming are the outcomes in which SCP- encounters an SCP that meets the following criteria:
• Appears to be female in gender
• Is estimated to, biologically, at or above the age of 18
• Is sentient
When encountering SCPs that meet this criterion, encounters end in unusual, disturbing, and alarming results.
Initially, encounters appear to be normal, with SCP- showing the initial signs of aggression when dealing with dangerous SCPs and acting civil when dealing with non-dangerous SCPs. Encounters with dangerous SCPS then result in the expected conflict, typically with both attempting to kill the other. Encounters with non-dangerous SCPs typically result in civil conversations. At around fifteen (15) minutes following the beginning of the encounter, regardless of whether or not the SCP being encountered is dangerous, is when the encounter takes an unexpected turn. At this time both SCP- and the SCP being encountered begin to exhibit a noticeable change in behavior. If the encounter continues past this point, at twenty (20) minutes following the beginning of the encounter, both SCPs enter a hyper-sexual state. At this point, both SCPs will attempt to mate with one another. Fortunately, D-Class personal and other Foundation staff have been able to restrain both SCPs and prevent them from reaching the penetration stage of mating, unfortunately this has been achieved at a severe cost. During these restraining procedures, both SCPS have displayed severe aggression, animalistic behavior, and an intense desire to break free from personnel to resume their actions, which has unfortunately resulted in multiple deaths of personnel. Once the two SCPs have been separated, by placing them in different rooms, the two return to their normal states, usually within five (5) minutes after separation.
Samples of air obtained during these encounters show an alarming rise in pheromones that specifically affect SCPs (these pheromones appear to be ineffective against average humans, however it is possible these pheromones could be altered to affect humans). Experiments have shown that these pheromones originate from SCP-, though it is unknown whether or not SCP- is aware of this. Following experiments with these pheromones show that it initiates similar behavior in other SCPs.
This observation is alarming as it shows that SCP- has the potential to reproduce. What is more alarming is that SCP- has the potential to reproduce with other SCPs regardless of differences in abilities, appearance, or behaviors. This is alarming as, if allowed to reproduce, this could result in an SCP which displays the abilities of one or both parents as well as unpredictable actions. This could also indicate that SCP- might, at some point, attempt to mate with human females; though at this time, SCP-’s attention regarding this seems only directed at SCPs who meet the above criteria.
Fortunately, SCP- appears incapable of reproducing without a mate, and only behaves in this manner in the presence of both an SCP who meet the above criteria and the pheromone. Even more fortunate is that Foundation personnel has been able to prevent any penetration from occurring during these encounters.
At this time, it is unknown as to if the creation of one or more SCP hybrids would be beneficial or detrimental to the Foundation. If such an SCP were to be created and proven to be beneficial to the Foundation, such an SCP could aid in the containment of other, more dangerous SCPs.
The true danger of this would occur if SCP- or any potential future hybrid offspring of SCP- proves capable of mating with humans. Such an event of the creation of a human-SCP hybrid could prove as the catalyst for a rapid evolution or potential extinction of the human race as it is.
As a result of these observations, I must strenuously express my opinion on this in my request to limit, if not prevent all of, SCP-’s contact with all female SCPs and female personnel as a means of prevent such an event from occurring.
End Report.
