Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: An exclusion zone of 300 ft of the designated cave opening should be marked but requires no active guard. It is recommended that the area be added to the nearby ██████ ████ State Park. Local authorities should be sufficient to deter common investigation. Odors are to be classified hazardous to deter further investigation although they pose no significant threat.

The depth of the ‘structure’ is unknown and true threat of the ‘creature’ is unknown. Further investigation of the nearby area is recommended. Further exploration of the ‘creature’ poses great risk. Until threat of the ‘creature’ is better understood disturbing it should be avoided. There is a special physical and chemical danger to the fur. It should be avoided directly.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an organization of biological matter found through a subterranean structure with the only know entrance at ██.11797419806901,-██.2588417811001. A putrid smell can be detected outside of the cave entrance. A few feet into the cave a fluid can be found on the floor that is markedly different than moisture common to the cave. It is a mixture of unknown and decomposition fluid from small creatures that are just a bit further into the cave. It is unknown if the clumps of odd fur belong to the ‘creature’ or the decaying creatures. A warm breeze comes from fissure in the cave but it is steep and inaccessible from debris. To the right is a 4 foot wide, worked opening with a aluminum ladder for access. The ladder extends 23 feet at an approximate 40 degree declination before breaching a cavern. The cavern appears natural with short furred growths on on the stalactite and on the floor that had fallen from above. The depth of the cavern becomes covered in a fleshy covering but it seems to be unconnected to the ‘creature’. The growth appears to originate from a fissure approximately 18 feet wide and 35 feet long, although biomass obscures precise measurements. The tissue that ascends the wall to the ceiling of the cavern appears to be actively transferring nutrients.

Descending into the fissure reveals a para-magnetic metal room that needs further analysis to identify. Tissue in this may be groomed by a symbiotic humanoid that may have formerly been Doctor of Speleology Gerrit Braun. This is where the former Dr. Braun had studied the ‘creature’ and where his notes and encampment was found. Beyond the antechamber is a balcony with several veins and sinew spreading into the other rooms accessible by the balcony. Below there is an opening revealing some the original floor of the chamber. Some of the area is modified by the former Dr. Braun for worship and grooming of the ‘creature’. The assumed majority of the chamber is filled and inaccessible by a biological mass that appears to be independent organs and many strange fluids congeal into the main body. The majority of these organs seems to be muscles but include many eyes and large teeth that range from inches to several feet. The ‘creature’ seems to be largely inert although some eyes to respond to light or motion. It has made no attempt to communicate with any known source. The former Dr. Braun claims to care for it and understand its needs, but does not claim to communicate with it. The former Dr. Braun appears to be a recreation of Dr. Braun made by biomass from the ‘creature’. It is possible the SCP-XXXX may be related SCP-0975 in some way.
