SCP - XXXX "Grendel"
Class: Keter
<Start File>
Height: 7'5"
First Recorded Location: Northern Denmark
First Confirmed Location: Viborg, Denmark
Note: No known relation to SCP-2467
Description
SCP-XXXX, believed to be the creature "Grendel" from the Old English tale of Beowulf, was first sighted in a marsh on the outskirts of Copenhagen in 1998. The witness, who remains anonymous, described it as tall, lanky, and jet black. It had long arms, large pale eyes, and a large mouth with jagged incisors. It seemed wet with its own blood, and one arm was shorter and less defined.
In June 2005 it was sighted once again in a marshland near Viborg by Malthe Jomandr. An SCP unit was deployed to the area from Facility Alpha-Kestis Oslo at 22:34, attempting to contain it. Video recording located at the [CLASSIFIED] archive shows the creature in clarity.
Its head was oval and alien, with no chin or jaw structure. The eyes on the side of the head had no pupils, and were a pale color. The mouth was roughly circular, with long teeth on all sides. The arms hung to its ankles, and had long hands with three claws each. The right arm was atrophied. The torso was long and lanky, with little more than a spine below the rib cage. The legs were roughly 3 feet in length, with long feet that possessed no toes.
The entire creature was black and sinewy, seeming to bend light into itself, rendering it near invisible in daylight. It was covered in a black viscous liquid, confirmed to be its acidic blood.
Abilities
While seemingly weak and passive, SCP-XXXX has shown to possess abnormal strength, capable of forces up to 500 Kilo-newtons. It emits a high-frequency shriek when threatened, inducing temporary shock and hysteria to all nearby wildlife. If one comes into contact with the creature's skin, the acidic fluid covering it (pH 1.92) burns the skin on contact, and is hypothesized to induce early onset dementia.
Containment
SCP-XXXX has shown itself to be vulnerable when exposed to high-frequencies exceeding 10^16 Hz. When exposed, it loses motor functionality and becomes passive, not threatening to humans.
SCP-XXXX is currently held at Facility Alpha-Kestis Oslo, under electromagnetic stimulation. Accessible only to level 4 agents. Do not engage.
