Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in frozen storage at Site 23 and checked monthly by staff members trained in assessing the level of decay in human cadavers. living relations of SCP-XXXX are to be covertly monitored by Foundation operatives. When SCP-XXXX is judged to have reached a state of decay on par with that of a cadaver left in to open for approximately six months or if its anomalous property is observed to manifest in its proximity recent information of it's relations is to be related to it by a staff member who believes the information to be true. In the event misinformation is deemed necessary said misinformation must be approved by legal.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to the remains of doctor Grayson Nash, a personnel member killed during early testing of [DATA EXPUNGED]. cause of death was determined as blood loss. due to the nature of his involvement with the facility it was deemed prudent that he be cremated on site, however his body was unaffected by the heat. when this was discovered it was transferred to a standard containment locker to await testing. after one day SCP-XXXX developed an odor consistent with that of a non-anomalous corpse. this odor diminished, however, when staff members close to Dr. Nash were brought in for testing. it was at this point the body was transferred to frozen storage.
After four months in frozen storage with no contact SCP-XXXX was found to have rotted beyond what would be expected of a non-anomalous corpse left exposed for one year. in addition to this the storage unit in which it was housed appeared to have become significantly dilapidated, with corrosion on all metal surfaces and a variety of fungi growing despite the sterile nature of the storage unit. similar conditons were observed in the two adjoining units. Again staff members who had known Dr. Nash in life were brought in but the effects did not reverse until Dr Stewart thought to address SCP-XXXX directly. Dr Stewart talked of progress made in continuation of the research done by Dr. Nash until the body and storage unit reverted to their previous state.
The following are examples of meetings with SCP-XXXX which the foundation has deemed informative to future meetings
Case-XXXX-01: a staff member related a brief summary of the statuses of the surviving relations of Dr. Nash. Decomposition was reduced to levels only a few days.
Case-XXXX-02: a staff member again related a summary of the statuses of the surviving relations of Dr. Nash, however, at the mention of the death of Dr. Nash's son decomposition of SCP-XXXX rapidly increased to an estimated five years of exposure to harsh conditions. dilapidation of the facility was observed in a radius of 8 meters and the staff member suffered from severe muscle atrophy, partial hair loss and loss of bone density. though the staff member made to recover in a later meeting with SCP-XXXX future meetings are to be conducted with D Class personnel.
Case-XXXX-03: D Class personnel related a brief summary of the statuses of surviving relations of Dr. Nash, having been instructed to lie about the status of a grandson who had recently dropped out of high school. at this point the body decayed by an estimated three months, effects to the storage unit and personnel were minor.
Case-XXXX-04 D Class personnel related a brief summary of the statuses of surviving relations of Dr. Nash D Class personnel related a brief summary of the statuses of surviving relations of Dr. Nash without knowing the information supplied to him about the grandson mentioned above was false. decomposition was again reversed to the level of only a few days.
Case-XXXX-05 an interview was played in the presence of SCP-XXXX between the granddaughter of Dr. Nash and a local news agency concerning her having received a sizable scholarship and being admitted into a prestigious university. decomposition was reverted completely and SCP-XXXX was found to be warm to the touch. physical testing of those present at this meeting suggests a reduction in age of approximately two years
Addendum: at this time the Foundation does not feel that the manner of Dr. Nash's death is linked to SCP-XXXX manifesting anomalous behavior but rather that it may be a product of his continued exposure to anomalies over the course of his career. Dr. Nash was known for his willingness to work with anomalies not yet fully understood, even before proper containment procedures could be developed.
