Item #: SCP-4356
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The entrance to SCP-4356 is located in the basement of [DATA EXPUNGED] in a large plaza in the centre of Indianapolis. The entrance to the stairwell leading to SCP-4356 has been fitted with a nondescript but durable soundproofed steel door with multiple locking mechanisms. Locking mechanisms should be examined regularly and replaced if damaged.
To access SCP-4356, approved personnel should stand in front of the door and remark "An excellent Sensei is the dream of all martial artists," before using their key to unlock the mechanical locks. They should then ensure their fingerprints are in contact with the surface of the doorknob while turning it.
At least five (5) D-Class personnel are to be sent into SCP-4356 every year. Once they have entered, no attempts should be made to retrieve them. Selected D-Class personnel should be individuals who greatly enjoy Japanese action comics or cartoons, with priority given to those with mild temperaments and no history of aggressive behaviour. Individuals with insufficient passion for this media will simply refuse to enter, even under threat of death.
Special permission is required for all attempts to contact SCP-4356-01, as it appears to posses cognitohazardous properties. All personnel who have interacted with SCP-4356-01 in any way should be monitored carefully and administered amnestics if symptoms appear. No attempts should be made to extract instances of SCP-4356-02 from inside SCP-4356.
Instances of SCP-4356-02 appearing outside SCP-4356 are to be approached peacefully, and may be convinced to cooperate through requests for protection and/or offers to aid them in their training. Any personnel approaching instances of SCP-4356-02 should be unarmed and unskilled at combat. Cooperative instances of SCP-4356-02 are to be brought to base for observation and frequently provided with opportunities to enter physically dangerous situations. In closed quarters, sedative gasses may be used occasionally to render them unconscious if they begin to exhibit signs of violent behaviour.
Due to the heavy traffic flow in the region, all monitoring of SCP-4356 is to be done discreetly.
Description: SCP-4356 takes the form of a vast dōjō with a single known entry point in the basement of [DATA EXPUNGED]. All other entrances to the space it appears to occupy lead to a normal basement. SCP-4356 is inhabited by an inhuman entity known as SCP-4356-01, who acts as the master of the dōjō. SCP-4356 is estimated to contain hundreds of rooms with varying setups which instances of SCP-4356-02 use for training, including a large central room where classes are held by SCP-4356-01.
Every year, a small number of humans are brought into SCP-4356 to become instances of SCP-4356-02. If there are insufficient satisfactory humans who voluntarily enter through the main doorway, additional humans are teleported into the dōjō from unpredictable locations.
Instances of SCP-4356-02 spend ten (10) years training in SCP-4356, although they do not physically age, before being sent out by SCP-4356-01 with instructions to "gain real-word experience". Instances of SCP-4356-02 who entered voluntarily exit from the basement entry point into the world ten (10) years after they entered. Instances of SCP-4356-02 who were teleported inside involuntarily are returned to the same location and point in time where they were abducted.
SCP-4356-02 instances retain much of their original personality and intelligence, however they invariably have an obsessive respect for SCP-4356-01 and an overpowering drive to seek combat. Often, they will also have a strong urge to style their hair in absurd ways and wear strangely colored clothing. Even indirect exposure to SCP-4356-01 can cause individuals to display these symptoms. Entering SCP-4356 and meeting SCP-4356-01 is sufficient to convert subjects to instances of SCP-4356-02.
SCP-4356-01 possesses dangerous telepathic and telekinetic capacities for an unknown range. The theory that SCP-4356-01 consciously selects the individuals it abducts, if confirmed, would suggest that its range may be global. If provided sufficient students and not provoked, SCP-4356-01 does not typically interfere with anything outside SCP-4356. It is defensive of its territory and will react violently to anything it perceives as an violation of its authority.
Instances of SCP-4356-02 have been observed to display supernatural abilities, such as inhuman strength, energy field creation, and elemental manipulation. Strength and abilities vary greatly between instances. Often, they will shout nonsensical attack names as these abilities are engaged. They are also known to give themselves new names, typically related to Japanese characters.
Addendum 4356.1: Documentation Related to SCP-4356-02 instances
Interviewed: Agent █████
Foreword: Agent █████ was the only surviving member of the first responders team sent to contain an instance of SCP-4356-02 (SCP-4356-02-E) appearing in a high school in [REDACTED].
<Begin Log>
Interviewer: How would you describe the circumstances leading to the deployment of your team?
Agent █████: Well, you see, the SCP-4356-02 instance was tentatively identified as such after an incident where it kicked several people who were harassing it so hard that, according to eyewitness testimonies, they flew ten feet through the air. It then began shouting about how it wanted a better fight than "these pathetic worms". A "Sensei" was mentioned several times.
Interviewer: What did you do after you arrived?
Agent █████: Standard containment procedure, at the time. We cleared the area of civilians, and administered mild amnestics to witnesses. Then, we attempted to approach the SCP-4356-02 instance.
Interviewer: Can you describe it?
Agent █████: It was leaning up against a wall, near the bodies of the people it had assaulted. Its arms were crossed, and it was smirking. It had spiky red hair that hung over his eyes, and it was wearing something that looked like a dress.
Interviewer: How did it react when you approached it?
Agent █████: Well, that was when everything went to shit. I guess we looked trained (or maybe it was our weapons), but it said "You guys look a lot more fun than these maggots." We tried to convince it to come back to the foundation with us , but…
Interviewer: What happened?
Agent █████: We barely got a word in before it shouted "I SEEK NOTHING BUT THE PINNACLE OF MARTIAL ARTS! KIAI!" and charged at us. We fired at it, but it seemed to be surrounded by an energy field that deflects bullets. Then, I was knocked unconscious. I woke up again, but my colleagues weren't so lucky.
Interviewer: All right, Agent █████, thank you for your time.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: SCP-4356-02-E was eventually captured by a large team with advanced weaponry. After sufficient fire, it appeared to run out of energy to maintain its protective field. Casualties were high.
Interviewed: SCP-4356-02-H
Foreword: SCP-4356-02-H was a cooperative instance of SCP-4356-02, retrieved when it was exiting SCP-4356 through the stable entrance.
<Begin Log>
Interviewer: You are SCP-4356-02-H?
SCP-4356-02-H: Please, call me Son Goku.
Interviewer: All right, then… uh… Son Goku…
SCP-4356-02-H: Yes! That is I! I am the great Son Goku, and now, having left the tutelage of my master, I will become the strongest in the universe!
Interviewer: I'm glad to hear it. Can you describe your experience in SCP-4356?
SCP-4356-02-H: It was really freaking cool! We each had our personal rooms, and then there were all these special rooms for training. My favourite was the jungle survival one. They actually managed to fit an entire jungle in there. Well, I guess since it's Sensei, it isn't surprising. There were cool monsters in it, too. We could beat them up and eat them, and stuff.
Interviewer: You mentioned having personal rooms. What was in them? And did you normally eat monsters?
SCP-4356-02-H: Typically, they had our beds, (we didn't get tired, but a lot of us still liked sleeping,) some shelves, maybe our favourite training equipment. We kept everything Sensei gave us in there, including our uniforms. Sensei let us design our own uniforms. We didn't get hungry either, but monsters always were a nice snack.
Interviewer's note: SCP-4356-02-H is shown a picture of SCP-4356-02-E.
Interviewer: Do you recognize him?
SCP-4356-02-E: Do I ever. Fucking shitstain called himself "Chu Feng". Always thought he was so great, threatening to wipe out people's families and all, when he was so fucking weak it was pathetic. He should have spent that time begging instead. I could have crushed him with the sheer force of my will.
Interviewer: Um… okay.
SCP-4356-02-E: I don't understand what Sensei saw in him. He never deserved Sensei's care. HE NEVER DESERVED SENSEI'S WISDOM. SENSEI IS HONOUR AND GLORY AND JUSTICE AND LIGHT! THE PATH SENSEI LEADS US ON IS NEVER-ENDING GREATNESS. BUT HE CLUNG TO SENSEI'S ROBE LIKE DOG SHIT CLINGS TO A SHOE! WHEN I LEFT IT TOOK ALL MY SELF CONTROL NOT SO SMASH HIS FUCKING FACE IN, HONEST-TO-GOD-I-SWEAR—
Interviewer: Wait, you said he was there when you left? We caught him five years ago, and you came out less than a month ago. How is that possible?
Interviewer's note: At this point, the subject's eyes began to emit a bright blue light.
SCP-4356-02-E: HOW THE FUCK SHOULD I KNOW? I'VE BEEN TRAPPED HERE ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS WHEN I SHOULD BE TRAINING. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS BULLSHIT. YOU BETTER FIND ME SOMETHING TO FIGHT SOON OR I WILL FIND ONE MYSELF. AND IF YOU DARE GET IN MY WAY, I WILL—
<End Log>
Closing Statement: In response to the increased volatility of the state of SCP-4356-02-E, the room was flooded with sedative gases. SCP-4356-02-E was rendered unconscious, causing the interview to be terminated early. Readings from censors in the room indicate that the light the interviewer observed being emitted from the subjects eyes was likely a hallucination, although the subject had begun releasing large amounts of energy at that point. An application was submitted for permission to release SCP-4356-02-E into SCP-3008-1.
Addendum 4356.2: Documentation of Incident 4356-A
Recipient: Director ██████
Sender: Dr. Jenkins
Subject: Proposal
Director ██████,
It has come to my attention that there exists an SCP that allows subjects to gain super-human fighting abilities. These subjects could become a very useful asset to the Foundation. However, due to the nature of SCP-4356, subjects exposed to it exhibit abnormal behaviours that make them difficult to control. Permission is requested to begin experimentation on SCP-4356 to examine the progression of its debilitative effects on subjects' mental states, and to research methods to control instances of SCP-4356-02.
Regards,
Dr. Jenkins

[BEGIN LOG]
D-145109: So, I just go down this stairwell and go through the door at the bottom?
Dr. Jenkins: Yes. Proceed.
D-145109 travels down two flights of standard concrete stairs. At the bottom, she stops in front of a glass door with a sign on it that says "Welcome to Edge Dōjō".
Although the view through the glass is very blurry, it appears to be a clean and well-lit facility. In the front, there is a desk which is occupied, however the image around the occupant is so distorted it is impossible to make out any details.
Behind the desk area, there is an open room full of figures that appear to be practicing kata. Muffled shouts can be heard.
Dr. Jenkins: Describe what you see.
D-145109: Looks like a pretty standard dōjō to me. Well, that is, except for the thing in the front desk. I don't know how to describe that. It's not even a thing, really. But it's meant to be there, that's for sure.
Dr. Jenkins: Why do you say that?
D-145109: I dunno. Just sort of feels that way. Feels right, ya know?
Dr. Jenkins: Alright. Go in, then.
D-145109 opens the door. The video feed is filled with blinding light, and then it patches out entirely.
Dr. Jenkins: What happened? Your video died.
D-145109: It doesn't like outsiders watching it. It doesn't mind if I talk to you, but it doesn't like being recorded.
Dr. Jenkins: Is it talking to you? What is it saying?
D-145109: Well, not talking, per say, but it's much easier to understand than people who talk. It's welcoming me, right now, telling me about the place. Not nearly as scary as I was expecting.
Dr. Jenkins: Can you elaborate on what it's telling you? Are you feeling anything unusual?
D-145109: It's just describing what the day to day life is like when you live here. Honestly, it sounds pretty nice, Doc. I think I might wanna stay.
Dr. Jenkins: Denied. Leave the premises immediately and return to command to make a full report.
D-145109: Naw. Sorry, Doc, but this place wants me and I feel like I belong here. Sensei says it will take care of everything. Hasn't been particularly nice knowing you, cuz you're an asshole, but bye.
There is a rustling sound as D-145109 reaches for her earpiece.
Dr. Jenkins: D-145109! Return to command right now! This is an order!
D-145109: Fuck your orders. You don't even know my name.
The audio connection is terminated.

Note: Small explosive devices have been surgically implanted into the necks of all participating D-Class personnel. These devices can be detonated remotely by mission control. The participating D-Class personnel were made aware of this.
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. Jenkins: Do you remember your orders?
D-161914: Yeah. Go in, look around, and return for examination.
Dr. Jenkins: You understand what will happen if you don't, right?
The D-Class personnel exhibit signs of discomfort.
D-161914: Yes.
Dr. Jenkins: D-894114?
D-894114: I understand.
Dr. Jenkins: D-711181?
D-711181: Crystal clear.
The entrance to the dōjō is not substantially different from the previous exploration.
D-161914: I like the air down here. Normally, I get nervous going into gyms and shit, but this place feels really… nice.
D-711181: Waxing sentimental, are we? Well, I do kind of get what you mean. Place feels like the opposite of the Foundation. Weird.
Dr. Jenkins: Don't get distracted. Focus on the mission.
The distorted figure at the desk appears to be moving towards the entrance. While the D-Class personnel stand around, unsure of how to proceed, it opens the door. As with before, the video feed is terminated.
Dr. Jenkins: Report. What's happening?
D-161914: I think it's welcoming us in personally.
There is a long silence.
Dr. Jenkins: Update me on what's happening.
D-161914: It spoke to us. It spoke to all of us. It will be our Sensei.
D-711181: D-894114 is talking to it right now. Think he feels more strongly drawn to it than the rest of us.
D-894114: It's truly kind. I don't think I've ever felt so understood.
Dr. Jenkins: Okay. Now, exit the premises.
D-894114: Uhh, boss, I don't want to leave.
Dr. Jenkins: Your opinion is irrelevant. There are consequences for disobedience.
D-894114: No, you don't understand. This place gives us meaning. Sensei gives us meaning. Sensei brings us peace.
Dr. Jenkins: And the rest of you are prepared to face the consequences with him?
D-161914: You will not hurt us. We belong to Sensei now. Sensei will protect us.
Dr. Jenkins: Then, I'll choose one of you randomly. Perhaps the survivors will reconsider their position.
There is a clicking noise, then the sound of Dr. Jenkins screaming. The screams continue for a considerable period of time.
D-711181: Well, guess that's it for her. Sensei is the greatest.
D-894114: Honour to Sensei.
D-161914: Honour to Sensei.
