Description:
SCP-XXXX seems to be a Face Mask made out of cotton, and plastic. It is contained at Site (REDACTED). According to testing, when put on, the user will feel throat aches; after a short while, the user will feel a sharp pain through his or her chest and will proceed to cough out what appears to be phlegm and blood. This process takes about 2 minutes and eventually, the user experiences death after approximately 10 seconds of the coughing.
When the Face Mask is soaked with the blood and other material coughed up by the host, the stains and content of the mask slowly disappear 12 hours after the incident.
Origin:
The origin of SCP-XXXX was found in Langfang , China in the year 1993. A pharmacy in the place had ownership of the mask. It was found when the clerk of the pharmacy was restocking face masks and saw a lone face mask behind the boxes. The clerk sold the face mask to (REDACTED) and the consumer wore it. Immediately feeling a very intense pain in his own chest cavity. After the process, the person blacked out. The Face Mask was obtained from the person's corpse by local MTF units in civilian apparel.
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a steel, cubical locker that had dimensions of not more than 8 inches. Its Containment Cell is to be cleaned at least once a day by one Class D using argon gloves and non-corrosive cleaning agents and materials provided by the Foundation. It is to be kept inside a room with temperatures of not less than 36°C or 96.8°F.
