SCP-XXXX seems to resemble a pet collar of variable size and color depending on the current wearer, though it’s constantly made out of a material that tests show, is close to fabric but highly resilient to any sort of damage and highly malleable.

SCP-XXXX was retrieved on ██/██/████ on a pet shop located on █████-███████ after being reported that one of the workers touched the collar and then suddenly sprang towards its neck. The victim, identified as █████ had wore the collar for 40 minutes before a scout unit arrived to retrieve and secure the SCP and the victim. █████ underwent testing until it had to be terminated after complaining of intense pain that began 2 hours after the first contact. The origin of SCP-XXXX or how it ended on said pet shop is yet unknown.

Special Containment Procedures:
To ensure the containment of scp-XXXX the following measurements must be followed

  • Kept on sector ████ on a locked box made out of reinforced steel and with a thickness of no less than two (2) inches (5 cm) and with no less than three (3) locks.
  • When taken out for testing, it must be transported on said steel box by no less than three (3) researchers, it must never leave the box before reaching the testing area located on sector ██-█████
  • after accident █████, anyone handling SCP-XXXX must wear a protective suit to prevent any contact with the skin (refer to test log 37-08)

Description

If the collar is put on a human being, it will start to morph into an animal, it can be any animal but research shows a tendency for canines, felines and reptiles. Resultant being are marked as SCP-XXXX-1 with a letter to represent the mutation (example: SCP-XXXX-1C)

  • C for canines
  • F for felines
  • R for reptiles
  • A for avians
  • X for any other mutations

All attempts to revert the effects by using SCP-500 have deemed ineffective
12 hours after consuming SCP-500, subject D-█████ started to revert back to human on the span of 3 days, however, side effects were presented:

  • Lower brain capacity.
  • Limited speech
  • Difficulties to stand on two legs.

All side effects were cured on the span of 3 months of physical and mental therapy (refer to test log 20-11).

If worn by an animal, said animal will mutate, initially ███ █████ ████ ███ █████ ███ ████████ █████. █████████ ███ ████ ██ ███ █████ █ ███ ██ ██████ █████, █████ ███ ██████ ████. █████ █ █████ █ ███████ ████ █ ██ █████ ███, ██ █████ █████ █████. These are denoted as SCP-XXXX-2.

Although results vary form subject to subject, there’s a few things that every process has in common:

  • The subject looses IQ as the hours progress, the rate and amount may vary.
  • The resultant SCP-XXXX-1 has a very high sensitivity to light and sound.
  • SCP-XXXX-1 is generally tame, although it can get very agitated when threatened or angered.

The entire process takes around 6 hours, it is yet unknown what makes a certain subject morph into a certain animal.

Before the tests begin, each subject has to take an IQ test, two more will be taken during the process of transformation.

Once the collar gets into contact with the skin of a sentient and living being, it will sprang towards the neck, it will then latch onto it, adapting it’s shape and size to the wearer so it’s loose enough to breath normally but tight enough to prevent it from moving around. Afterwards, the process of mutation starts:

  • After 30 minutes of first contact: subject starts to complain about sharp and intermittent pain
  • 2 hours after contact: difficulties to stand and walk on two legs, being on four becomes more comfortable.
  • 3 hours after contact: difficulties to modulate words, first IQ test is to be taken on this point.
  • 4 hours after contact: (at this point subjects will take different ways of developing according to the animal, although some factors are present on all of then) growth of hair or feathers; skin starts having a rougher texture resembling scales.
  • 4 hours and 30 minutes after contact: fangs and claws appear, tail and ears start growing, speech is limited to sounds, second IQ test is to be taken now.
  • 6 hours after contact: transformation is finalized, SCP-XXXX is now able to be removed from the subject. Said subject has now undergone full transformation, they will conserve their initial size and weight, but their physical appearance and behavior will be completely changed.

Once SCP-XXXX latches onto the subject, it’s impossible to remove it, test shown during and after test 37-08 show that SCP-XXXX inner layer will merge with the skin of the subject and will only let go once the process of transformation is complete, or the subject is terminated. After retrieving SCP-XXXX from subject D-███, the inner layer of the collar appeared to be coated on a translucent film. Initially believed to just be sweat, testing has shown that it's a form of protein that aims for the wearers DNA and starts rewriting the genetical code, it has also shown capable of enhancing the production of certain hormones, believed to cause the sudden growth of hair and the formation of claws and sharpening of teeth.

If any SCP-XXXX-1 are present on a radius of approximately 15 meters, and anyone attemps to handle SCP-XXXX, they will go in a state of defense, making their way to SCP-XXXX and attacking anyone near it. Futher testing has proven that SCP-XXXX creates a hive mind that affects any SCP-XXXX-1 after being exposed to SCP-XXXX past the 5 hours mark. Subjects appear to obey the only order of protecting SCP-XXXX at all costs, killing anyone that appears to threaten it, their collective consciousness ceases after the collar is safe, going into a “dormant” state where they are usually tame and safe to interacting with.

The reasoning behind their behavior might be for purely survival, although it has been theorized that it has to do with spreading XXXX to create some sort of community/colony but to this point, no XXXX-1 has attempted to find a new host for XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-1

Special Containment Procedures:

In the case the subject affected by SCP-XXXX is not terminated and/or needed to be kept alive for further research, the following measurements must be followed to ensure the safety of the researchers and to prevent any possible containment breach:

  • Kept on a soundproof room no bigger than 5 x 5 x 10 Meters.
  • Said room must be airtight to prevent the release of the toxins produced by SCP-XXXX-1R (Refer to test log 40-18).
  • Dim lights to prevent SCP-XXXX-1 from getting agitated.
  • Any point of entry to the room, be it a door or air duct must be locked and watched 24 hours with surveillance cameras with integrated movement sensor.
  • If entering the cell is needed, either to clean it or transport SCP-XXXX-1, it must be sedated prior to entering the cell, it must also wear a mask and special gloves to prevent it from attacking.
  • Personnel testing with SCP-XXX-1R must wear heavy duty gas masks at all time to prevent any sort of effect caused by the toxins produced (Refer to test log 40-18).

SCP-XXXX-2

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept on a soundproof room with airtight locks, and walls made out of reinforced steel. Any point of access must be electrified to prevent SCP-XXXX-3 to attempt breaking out

Following test log ██-██, SCP-XXXX-2 is to be terminated on the spot, further research involving animals and/or SCP-XXXX-2 has been strictly prohibited.

Due to an unforeseen accident, SCP-XXXX latched onto Dr.█████, due to it being incapable of being removed, Dr.█████ had to be put down before the process of transformation started, test subject D-█████ was send back to her cell. After this incident, any researcher handling SCP-XXXX must wear protective clothes to prevent contact with the skin.

Test Log 20-11;

  • Height: 1.82m
  • Convicted for: child abuse, rape and aggravated assault

Once SCP-XXXX got into contact with his skin, it got into the neck and adapted the form of a bright green with black lines collar. past, the 6 hours after contact, D-█████ turned into a canine humanoid closely reassembling a golden Labrador, named SCP-XXXX-1C, it has shown to be docile and has not been considered a threat yet, however it seems to get altered by strong lights and loud sounds and responds defensively when approaching XXXX. To prevent any sort of sudden exaltation from SCP-XXXX-1C, its containment chamber must be dimly lighted and the inner walls of the chamber need to be soundproof. SCP-500 was administered to the subject after multiple tests taken during the following 3 weeks, no effects were shown. after 12 hours, D-█████ started to turn back into human, completely reverted after 3 days. Side effects appeared, however; lower brain capacity and degraded speech, he was also unable to stand upright on 2 legs. All these side effects were nullified after 3 months into therapy lead by Dr.█████ ███.

The collar took the shape of a bright purple with black lining and a medal that had engraved an address that lead to a street on downtown █████-███████, D-█████ claimed that’s where she used to live. 4 hours and 40 minutes in, she started to experience strong rage episodes, trying to attack erratically the personnel with the claws and fangs she started to grow. Past 6 hours, she turned into SCP-XXXX-1R, a humanoid reptilian with dark purple scales resembling a Komodo dragon. On the way to the containment cell, SCP-XXXX-1R had another attack of rage, biting and cutting the personnel escorting it, this time running down the hallway towards the testing area where XXXX was being prepared to be transported back to the containment cell, once XXXX-1R arrived the teating area it proceeded to attack ferociously Dr.█████, causing him to die of blood loss. XXXX-1R adopted a more defensive stance when other personel attempted to approach either SCP.
SCP-XXXX-1R had to be terminated and other █ guards died when attempting to contain it. Traces of toxins were found inside the testing area and hallway, believed to be released by SCP-XXXX-1R as a means of self defense, said toxins have yet to be tested to determine their effects. After these incidents, all SCP-XXXX-1 are to be sedated before any sort of direct interaction, they will also be required to be chained by their neck, legs, arms, torso and tail (when applicable) to a table, only one hand will be free during the IQ tests. Containment cells are also needed to have a ventilation system that activates biweekly to take out the toxins created by SCP-XXXX-1R, the rest of the time, the room must have an airlock system to prevent any possible leaks. Handling SCP-XXXX is prohibited before any living XXXX-1 have abandoned the area and are separated by an area of at least fifteen (15) meters.

  • Shows sings of getting into multiple fights, some involve scars around the torso, neck and a deformed tail.
  • Around 3 and 5 years old.
  • Weights 13 pounds (5 Kg).
  • Ordered to be put to sleep after attacking a minor.

SCP-XXXX latched onto the dog after it smelled it for a while. The results show █████ ███████████████ █████ which has been named SCP-XXXX-2. █████ ██████████ █ ██ █████. ██████████ █████ ██ ████ ██████████ ██ ██ █████.█████ ██████████ █████ █ ██████. ██████████ █████. due to the nature of the results and SCP-XXXX-2 overall, any tests planned to involve SCP-XXXX-2 or any other with an animal being the test subject have been terminated, it is required to terminate any SCP-XXXX-2 that may be created afterwards on sight, their savage instincts are a direct threat to the personnel of the Foundation.
