Back of SCP-XXXX during initial containment, Cognitohazard not shown

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is stored in a memetic hazard chamber at Site-77, access restricted to level (3)three personnel. Testing with SCP-XXXX is discouraged post Incident XXXX-1

Description: SCP-XXXX is an altar carved out of marble, appearing to come from ancient Rome. On the back of the altar is the words “BRING ME A SACRIFICE” written in American English(1). This text has a cognitohazardous effect, compelling any humans who view it to attempt to terminate a human being and bring it to the altar. Subjects under this influence prefer to seek out another human over self-terminating, but if no viable humans are able to be found the subject will self-terminate over the altar. When restrained away from SCP-XXXX subject will expire from increasingly desperate attempt to reach SCP-XXXX. Subjects aren’t inherently aware of SCP-XXXX and application of amnestics is successful in stopping this compulsion effect, but symptoms will arise within a week of application. In the event that the subject is able to terminate another individual and place it on top of the altar or self-terminate on the altar, an XXXX-Gamma event will occur

XXXX-Gamma events will vary depending on the personality of the subject, their age and gender, and several unknown factors. A typical XXXX-Gamma event usually consists of dark figures (Referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) manifesting around the altar and performing a “Ritual”. See addendum for examples of rituals
