Special Containment Procedures
SCP-XXXX is to be referred to at all times as a "Safe" class anomalous sphere matching the description of the available iteration of this document. Deny any and all requests for access to the anomaly or further information. All of Dr. Bright's communications are to monitor for references both explicit and coded about SCP-XXXX. No foundation personnel are to interfere with SCP-XXXX's flight path in any way.
Embedded agents in both civilian and military installations are given standing orders to redirect traffic away from SCP-XXXX under the guise of turbulent weather. Report and do not respond to requests by any foundation personnel requesting clarification or information regarding their orders.
A single UAV, requisitioned from Space Communication Properties, is to autonomously trail and report on SCP-XXXX at all times. If SCP-XXXX is lost, a code is in place to search for evidence of its location by piggybacking on the signal of all available Internet-Enabled devices.
Description
SCP-XXXX is a perfect steel-alloy sphere matching the physical description of the cover document published by the foundation. SCP-XXXX travels on an irregular, unpredictable, seemingly random, path, roughly eight-thousand, five hundred feet (8,500ft) above sea level. Given its relatively small dimensions and the significant height at which exists, SCP-XXXX is almost undetectable by broad-spectrum instruments and radar. Visual confirmation is currently our best method of detection.
Aside from the ability to fly, SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties do not appear until it is within five-hundred (500) longitudinal/latitudinal meters of an organism with sufficient neuronal density and biological mass. Altitude does not appear to factor into the range of effect. When an organism enters SCP-XXXX's area of influence, however, one of two things will occur, depending on the organism's history of encounters with paranormal or anomalous effects and entities.
If an individual has experience with or has encountered one of these objects, then they will begin to experience violent compulsions and begin fixating on cruel or morbid acts, or otherwise act in a manner that would encourage others to ostracize the individual. In animal communities, affected individuals will shirk established social behaviours; wolves will steal food from the pack, chimpanzees will seek mates from outside their social group, elephants have been observed charging matriarchal herds and attempting to separate calves. The more complex the social order, the more drastic the action the individual will take. In humans, this influence causes victims to seek out exceptionally heinous activities. Rape, torture, mass murder, as well as sexual exploitation of children, are all common behaviours found in affected individuals. Sufferers have also been observed to seek out certain behaviours that preclude the most severe punishment. As such, in regions with the death penalty, crimes with which it is associated increase sharply after an encounter with SCP-XXXX. It is important to note that those affected do not necessarily experience immediate violent compulsions. It is not uncommon for individuals to premeditate extensively on their behaviours before they carry them out, in addition to experiencing their anti-social compulsions form into routines. An affected individual may spend weeks preparing and planning their actions.
In individuals that have not experienced paranormal or anomalous activity, the effects of SCP-XXXX manifest as a sense of urgency, agitation, or boldness. Those affected will experience prolonged bouts of insomnia and irritability until they act on these compulsions.

These behaviours are, quite frequently, positive. In fact, the foundation has identified a correlation between SCP-XXXX's location and certain, significant, historical events. It is believed that SCP-XXXX was present, and may be responsible, for:
- The 1969 Stonewall Riots
- The 1917 Bath Riots
- Russia's advance across the Eastern front during World War II
- Rukhsana Kausar's actions on 27 September 2009
- Sgt. Thomas A. Bakers 1944 stand during the Battle Of Saipan
The effects of SCP-XXXX have been observed in organisms with as low as ████ neurons per mm3. There is, as of yet, no upper-limit to those susceptible to SCP-XXXX, though individuals with abnormally high synaptic connections appear to be more resistant to influence.
SCP-XXXX was recovered by Foundation personnel after being spotted by a UAV belonging to ██████ armed forces attempting to enter through a partially opened window. The entity had disappeared by the time Foundation personnel arrived to investigate, but later revealed itself to stop an unfolded paper map of the local area from flying away from the recovery team.
